[applause and cheers] now, we are going to south carolina to win and then we are going to take this back. mr. biden: want to thank everyone who caucused for us, but i want to particularly thank all the precinct captain, all our volunteers that are here. made all those phone calls. i plan to come back to win this state outright.

[applause] mr. biden: you know, i could not have done it without -- i want to start out, i've got to recognize a few of the congresspersons here. david titus has been incredible. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: there is a guy named horace here. you ever heard of him? that guy can campaign, man. are you kidding me? also, you know, there is a fellow from a little state called california. [applause and cheers] mr. biden: bill, thank you. thank you. and hilda solis. where's hilda? she was just there. maybe she is coming back. so, so, so many of you.

i have to tell you what, man -- >> the comeback kid! [cheers and applause] mr. biden: you are sending me back. i want to tell you something, and we are in labor's house. my team stepped up in a big, big, big, big way as did a bunch of you. look, we've got some of the best union support, i think better than anybody in the whole dang -- [cheers and applause] i heard there's some guys called firefighters around here. ironworkers. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: by the way -- by the way, i heard that we probably

did awful well with culinary workers. i know we don't know the final results yet, but i feel good. you put me in a position -- you know, the press is ready to declare people dead quickly, but we are alive and we are coming back and we are going to win. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: by the way, i want to thank all the folks at 226. they have been incredible to me. they have been incredible the way they have treated me, and i want to tell you that, you know, the choices they had to make were ones that made a big

difference. look, i want to get right to the point here -- i think we are in a position now to move on in a way that we have not been until this moment. i think we are going to go -- we are going to win in south carolina. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: and then super tuesday, and we are -- [cheers and applause] mr. biden: we are here in the ibew hall, and i want to tell you, they stepped up in a moment, just the incredible right moment. with that, the ironworkers, firefighters, teachers, so many -- culinary union, the atu, so many others -- i have said a hundred times, you are the reason why i am in this. you are the ones who built the middle class. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: by the way, this time, when we rebuild the middle class, we've got to bring everybody along. black, brown, women, men,

straight, everybody -- across the board. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: the idea that somehow people are just figuring this out is kind of surprising me, but you know, everybody is just looking for a shot. no one is looking for a handout. everybody is looking for just an even shot and they don't feel like they are getting a chance because they are not. they are being left behind. i promise you, i give you my word as a biden, i'm going to bring everybody along. [cheers and applause] that single mom trying to raise her kids by herself, it's hard. that 60-year-old dad who just lost his job and has no idea where to turn or that college grad who cannot get started because the student debt is so high, those communities of color who have had pollution pumped into the water they drink and the air they breathe.

couples facing eviction who will do anything at all to maintain a home for their kids or the family that has a child with cancer desperately looking for help -- we can fix all of these problems, every one of them. it is in our power to do it. folks, there are 100 million americans with pre-existing conditions who fear that obamacare will be taken away. i promise you it will not be. it will be expanded on. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: the immigrant who has been demonized and the way this guy has ripped us apart in ways we have not seen and any of our -- in any of our lifetimes, folks, we have such an incredible opportunity -- i really mean this -- we have such an incredible opportunity to take this country places it has never been, lead the world again. look, i believe that we are -- i'm a democrat for a simple reason. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: i ain't a socialist. i ain't a plutocrat.

i'm a democrat. and i'm proud of it. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: you got to remember, what made you become a democrat in the first place? basically the thought that everybody just deserves a shot. i really mean it, just a shot. an even playing field. just give us a chance, we can do anything at all in the neighborhoods i come from and a lot of you come from. anything at all. we have never, ever, ever, ever let the country down, and by the way, i was proud to have and run with barack obama. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: and i'm proud to still be his friend, and i tell you what -- i promise you, i wasn't talking about running in a democratic primary against him in 2012. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: i was working my

heart out so he could win. folks, look, we can establish -- reestablish our place in the world, we can reestablish our place for ordinary, hard-working people in this country, and we have said it many times -- with four years of donald trump, we can with god willing if we win, make that an aberration. a historical aberration. but eight years would fundamentally change who we are. as i said again, many times, we not only have to beat donald trump, we have to keep the united states house of representatives. we have to win the united states senate. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: and then, we have to bring the party and the country together. i think it's time. i think it's time we get moving. i think it's time we step up. i think it's time we unite the party first.

[cheers and applause] mr. biden: that's not what i'm hearing. i hear dr. jill for president where i go. i tell you what, look. you have all been so wonderful. i don't want to keep you standing, but this is an important moment, an important moment. i think we are going to look back on this and say this was the beginning of the fundamental change. folks, folks, we are in a spot now where we have to just keep moving. keep moving and make sure -- by the way, as you learned today and yesterday in the day before, we are going to have more help coming from vladimir putin for our president. we are going to have more help

from vladimir putin who wants somebody who he things cannot beat donald trump. -- thanks cannot beat donald -- he thinks cannot beat donald trump. we will have more help along the way. i turn and the tv looked at tv ads and said where the hell did that come from? that being said, they are trump ads. let's give trump exactly what he does not want. let's give him you and joe biden as the nominee. [cheers and applause] mr. biden: thank you, thank you, thank you! i plan on coming back. [crowd chanting "let's go, joe"] mr. biden: one last thing -- tell all your friends, go to and contribute a little bit of money. we've raised a couple million bucks. let's go get 'em.
