((denise valdez)) i'm denise valdez... in for paula tonight. the four remaining occupants surrendered to police this afternoon... and no one was hurt. it all began nearly six weeks ago... with the group demanding that the government release two ranchers who had been imprisoned for setting fires. the members arrested today all face felony charges... and will appear in court tomorrow./// ((dave courvoisier)) > this all came to a head... just hours after federal officials arrested bunkerville rancher cliven bundy... when he landed in portland.
walker has been working the story all day... and spoke with a number of people.. including bundy's family. he joins us live in the newsroom with the latest. ((patrick walker)) we've learned bundy was arrested on six federal charges... outlined in this 32-page criminal complaint filed in u-s district court. his arrest comes nearly 2 years after an armed standoff near his bunkerville ranch. ((patrick walker)) court sketches give us a glimpse inside a federal courtroom in portland... where bunkerville rancher cliven bundy faced a judge for the first time. his arrest... coming as a surprise to bundy's family. ((briana bundy/cliven bundy's daughter in law: "we've seen the charges -- they all seem pretty much like nonsense to us. but you know. that's about the only reaction we have.")) ((patrick walker)) this criminal complaint outlines six charges... including assault on a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice. the federal government says bundy was the leader of an armed militia... that attempted to impound his cattle after years of allowing them to graze on federal land. we sat down with bundy in late
as his sons were leading the armed occupation in oregon. ((january 29th/cliven bundy/arrested wednesday in oregon: "if they want to call me a terrorist, they can call me a terrorist, but i'll tell you one thing, i'm an american, and i believe in the constitution of the united states.")) ((patrick walker)) bundy's critics... including las vegas assemblyman elliot anderson.... say bundy's justification for the standoffs at bunkerville and burns, oregon... is flawed. ((assm. elliot anderson/(d) las vegas: "we don't get to decide what laws that we follow, and so it it was good to see the rule of law prevail.")) ((patrick walker)) bundy and his followers do not recognize the authority of the federal government. they believe in local and state control... and cliven and his sons have called for the return of federal land to the people. for that... also in oregon... says cliven did not intend on visiting burns during this trip. ((michele fiore/(r) las vegas: "cliven talked about flying into portland to go visit his sons, to figure out what to do." )) ((patrick walker)) now... with the occupation over... bundy now has to figure out what he will do next. ((patrick walker)) bundy is currently being held without bail in the multnomah county jail. he's scheduled to appear again
for a detention hearing. denise... ((denise valdez)) the four others who were arrested today... what charges are they facing? ((patrick walker)) their first hearing is scheduled for tomorrow. they all face a federal felony charges of conspiracy to keep federal workers from doing their duties through force or intimidation. ((denise valdez)) the public will have a chance to comment on a new recommendatio n... ononthe rates rooftop solar customers will pay moving foward. commissioner david noble submitted a proposal this week... that would transition existing solar customers to new rates over a 12-year period. n-v energy had proposed the p- u-c allow existing net metering customers who installed solar before september 10th 2015... to keep the old... more favorable rates for 20 years. a hearing will take place tomorrow morning at 9:30. /// ((dave courvoisier)) > if you've

the health district has purchased this former target for six and a half million dollars... and spent 12 million dollars more on renovations. the department was previously leasing its prior location. ((karen castro)) employees moved in about a week ago... and while the building is open to the public, crews are still working on final details. all the departments are up and running, with the exception of the "family planning clinic", which is a new function at this location. spent 19 years as the head coach of the unlv men's basketball team... taking the runnin' rebels to the national championship two years in a row and winning in 19-90. he's also reached 7- hundred career wins, 2nd fastest... 5- hundred of them coming at unlv. in 2013... tarkanian was was inducted into fame./// ((denise valdez)) > it's a bittersweet, history making night in las vegas. the curtain is falling on one of the most well known shows in las vegas: "jubilee". we spoke to a former showgirl whose dedicated much of her life to the bally's production. " a pretty young lady said to me, oh i wish i could have brought my daughter to see jubilee and now she's never going to be able to see that type of show and it
think that was the moment when i realized the reality of it ")) cindy tarte was a jubilee showgirl for 25 of the show's 35 years. it had all sorts of themes including patriotism, history, entertainment, old hollywood and more. the show even had the first african american line of dancers. scindy remembers the countless crystals... used on thier elaborate costumes and the comradery. but she says nothing beat being in the "entertainment capital of the world".
