a 14-year-old girl dead after a sleep over and we talk to the girl's best friend about her death. and protesters forced the closure of several san francisco bart stations during the height of the evening commute. and the latest in the search for 7 missing fisherman who vanished after their boat sap sized in the sea of cortez. we sit down with one survivor to hear his story. >> live, this is kron 4 news at 11:00. residents are shocked over the death of 14-year-old takeimi rao.
this is her picture. sheriffs investigators believe she may have had too much alcohol during a slumber party. kron 4's reggie kumar spoke to one of her friends who was unable to go that night. >> reporter: she was in search when she found out takeimi rao died. sheriffs investigators believe the teen may have drank lot of vodka with her friends. at one point investigators say takeimi rao's mother found two girls throwing up. they told her mother they had food poisoning. >> my friend texted me. answer your phone, takeimi rao is not okay. there is ambulances. she is not the person you would expect to do that stuff at all. i thought she was joking because she is definitely not like that. i thought it was a spur of the
moment thing. let's try it. she is like a really good person. you can't describe her, she is really happy, one of the happiest people i met. always watches over you, making sure you make the right choices. a great friend. the one i can trust. it was late at night. like, they went to sleep, they trust them. >> her mother -- she doesn't think it's the parent's fault. the only thing you can do is instill the right values and teach your children not to do that. she is planning to hold a fathering to remember her friend sometime soon. it's unclear if her parents will face charges. reggie kumar, kron 4 news. >> three san francisco bart stations are back open after
being closed because of protests. the demonstrators gathered to condemn the officer involved shooting that left one dead a week ago. this is video. kron 4's dan kerman was at that location when it broke out. >> reporter: police moved in. protesters backed off and after 15 minutes the train was allowed to go but for safety reasons bart shut down the station.
>> they have killed one more innocent person. >> we are here today. >> reporter: 7:30 p.m. the civic center station reopened but that was after being closed for 2-1/2 hours and that caused a disruption. during the evening community. dan kerman, kron 4 news. after forceing the closure of the civic center dozens of protesters took to the streets. one man was taken to jail for
intoxication near the powell bart station on market. the two were part of a group of 50 people near that station. the u.s. coast guard will continue their search for these men. they are still missing after their boat capsized in the sea of cortez. the coast guard completed its 7 7th search. there was still no sign of the missing fisherman of the the coast guard searched 5300 square miles of ocean and land since the navy requested assistance in the search effort. the 19 survivors left mexico. they are back home now with their families. we talk with one man who survived 18 hours otsea. >> -- at sea. >> reporter: this picture was
taken before the trip. two of his cousins are still missing. they clung to a cooler for 18 hours after the 35-foot wave sunk the boat. >> nothing but three guys a cooler and empty sky. >> reporter: the men paddled for hours but because of the strong current only gained 2-3 feet. they helped each other stay alive. >> it was lonely. >> reporter: mexico fisherman found them and they survived orphcandy -- on candy. >> heaven. >> reporter: besides a sun burn physically he is doing fine and happy to be back home with his wife. kron 4 news. high temperatures today. cool out there thanks to the
fog. which is extensive through the afternoon. that's why temperatures were in the low 60s. fremont 71. 79 antioch. warmest location was only 60 degrees in san francisco. tomorrow we are going to see very similar conditions to today. starting with dense fog and drizzle close to the coast line. by noon the fog pushes back to san francisco. breezy and cool into the afternoon. we got a lot more news still ahead. coming up, why governor schwarzenegger is being sued for something he did during his final days in office. >> look at all this junk. wait a minute, don't call it junk says a man who

and a lot of garbage. the owner says it's anything but junk. >> reporter: how large is your property? >> 160 acres. >> reporter: there is a lot of old cars and trash on his property. just don't call it junk he says. >> i think we are educated or, um, corersed into disposing of things so you can buy new things to keep the economy running and such. >> reporter: this muni bus, a dozen motorcycles are featured on a show about hoarders. but he says he is no hoarder. >> it might be some sort of illness. but most of it is resources from which i make and en vent
other things. to put money aside to pay for fire wood. >> he sells fire wood to campers. over the years he says people use his property as a dumping ground. but he is operating an illegal junk yard. >> the planning department regards my property as undeveloped property. i can't have anything on it. >> reporter: he admits being assent rick. he says trash has value and those tv people helped him do a deal. >> it's mutual exploitation. one should look at what you have and see if there is value. >> reporter: robrob fladeboe kron 4 news. fire that damaged a school could be the work of an
arsonist. the flames broke out last night at skyline elementary school. investigators found three spots where somebody tried to spark the blaze. nobody was injured in the fire. we have that stubborn fog today and tomorrow. morning, dense fog and drizzle. and drizzle this morning in fairfield. that could be the case again tomorrow morning. into the afternoon the fog clings to the coast line and san francisco and oakland. 4:00, breezy and cool conditions once again. here is a look at fog for tomorrow morning, widespread fog through the bay area. everywhere you go there is fog. 7:00, we will deal with dense fog close to the coast line. 10:00 it scales back. we will see more sunshine. fog over oakland and hayward.
later afternoon, over san francisco and into oakland. temperatures for tomorrow. 60s and 70s again. 79 vallejo. breezy through the delta tomorrow afternoon as well. 60s for the bay shores. 60 in half moon bay. and 70s in the south bay. temperatures are running below average for this time of year. inland is 20 degrees of where they should be. and the cool foggy weather will stick with us through the week. into the weekend the fog starts to push back and we will get warmer weather back in the forecast. monday back into the 90's inland. civil suit against governor schwarzenegger is underway. today a judge heard from the family of a stabbing victim who is suing governor schwarzenegger. they say he violated their rights and when he failed to
notify them when he reduced the sentence of the man convicted in the stabbing. >> this case has been politicized from the beginning and that our hope is that in a different court setting that folks will see the facts for what they are. >> i called a judge -- 16 years in jail and this politician got together with another politician and reduced the sentence. >> the family is fighting to have the full 16 year sentence reinstaled and they want to state to stop allowing governors to commute sentences. >> bruce bochy shares his that is on the all-star game and vern has the highlights from the home run derby.
