it's a busy weekend for fire

multiple people are homeless this morning after their homes are destroyed by three separate fires. the last fire happened around 7 p- m last night. fire fighters responded to a house fire at kyle canyon. the house collpased from the flames. fortunately everyone inside was able to make it out safely. no word yet on what caused this fire. earlier in the day...a fire broke out at a downtown business. it started at a furniture store-- yesterday afternoon near maryland parkway and charleston. the two people inside didn't even know the building was on fire!. they have a passersby to thank for saving their lives this morning. fire fighers estimate the damage at 75-thousand dollars. fire crews say-- it was an electrical box in the attic where the fire started. just a little earlier...a trailer fire broke out leavning two people homeless-- this morning. this was near lake mead and

coming up at 5:30 you'll hear from the family...and why this fire ended with one family member behind bars... a family who has already been through so much-- is hit hard again. their father passed away suddenly, and now they are turning to you, our viewers, for help. you may remember alyssa mowery. she survived being hit by a car. thursday night, we learned her father suddenly died in his sleep. now, alyssa's mom says she has been struggling...trying to come to terms with his death. 22:57:20 she has moments of clarity where she realizes he's gone and not coming back but she has short-term momory loss so she keeps forgetting so it's almost worse for her i would think because she's learning about it and realizing it and accepting it over and over and over and over again. their family is now struggling to pay his funeral costs. they've set up a "gofundme page". if you would like to donate, we

giant crane collapsed in lower manhattan. this morning investigators still aren't sure what brought this massive crane down. andrew spencer has the details. < investigators in new york are trying to figure out why a crane collapsed in lower manhattan friday morning. the fallen crane stretched more than a block. (witness) "i heard a huge noise, and it just like went sideways, we didn't actually see anything, [did you feel it?] yes of course you can feel." mayor bill de blasio says the crane was being lowered into a secure position because of high winds when it fell.
