...police are looking for a car involved in a hit and run crash. that crash has a bicyclist recovering in the hospital this morning. this all happened near rainbow and warm springs just beofre 1:30 this morning. that's an area area with a lot of construction. the bicyclist was going south on rainbow when he was hit by ahead today... a c-c-s-d teacher accused of physically abusing at least one autistic student is expected in court. james doran's bench trial is scheduled to start this morning. police arrested doran back in august at forbuss elementary school. other teachers say they saw doran slap and throw a student down into a bean bag. the man accused of opening fire and killing two people near the las vegas strip is facing serious charges this morning. omar talley was arrested on saturday for the deadly shooting.

today, mainly sunny skies will still be common across the valley along with high temperatures in the mid and upper 70s. what changes is the winds speeds. throughout the day, winds will gradually pick up speed starting between 5 and 15 mph this morning and working up to 10-20 mph with gusts around 25 this afternoon into the overnight. the disturbance looks to merge with a low that forms just southeast of phoenix which allows the low to grow. with high pressure moving in from the west, southern nevada get caught in pressure gradient.

the 64-year-old victim wasn't using the crosswalk at the time he was hit. the driver took off but was followed by a witness. metro caught up to the suspect... felony hit and run....and suspiscion of d-u-i. some sad news to pass along. died. her passing comes a year after doctors started treating her for a malignant brain tumor. she was just 60 years old. smith was first elected to the state assembly in 2000 and won a senate seat in 20-12. she missed some of the 2015 legislative session after undergoing surgery to have a brain tumor removed. smith leaves behind a husband and three children. an inmate in a nevada prison died saturday at the hospital inside the carson city prison. this is a pciture of ronnie hall. he was in jail convicted of burglary. an autopsy is expected. a busy weekend for firefighters after two fires break out within hours of each other.

thirty yesterday morning near arville and flamingo. clark county firefighters responded to this one. they say a stove caught fire and spread throughout the apartment. firefighters were able to knock it out quickly. no word yet on what caused the fire. the american red cross is helping an adult and three chidlren after a fire destroys their apartment. fire crews got the call early yesterday morning.. we received these pictures. you can see all the smoke billowing from the building. officials it started on the second floor of the "la fiesta apartments" near owens and lamb. we're told there's 20 thousand dollars in damage. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. moving to the latest developments on a deadly shooting spree in michigan and a man who says he was the accused uber drivers last rider before he opened fire. matt mellen/ "we were driving through medians, driving through the lawn, speeding along and when we came to a stop, i jumped out the car and ran away." mellen says he even called 911. saturday night's deadly rampage
