amanda, what'd you find out? nevada has a closed caucus system. only democrats can participate on february 20th and only republicans on february 23rd. republicans closed their registration on february 13th-- and the voter list from that day is the one they will use at their caucus on tuesday. but democrats are allowing same-day registration on site, tomorrow. so, a republican already registered with their party could show up at a democratic caucus site, switch to the democratic party, vote and then still participate on tuesday because the party switch would not show up on the gop caucus rolls. adam khan, washoe county republican party: "that's the rules that we were given. if you're registered by february 13th, as a republican, you're going to be on our rolls." chairman of the washoe county republican party, adam khan says the voter records collected on february 13th will be the only ones used at the gop caucus locations in nevada. adam khan, washoe county
make sure we maintain integrity in the elections. we don't have same day registration for that reason. we don't want people just changing back and forth." republicans participating in the democratic caucus could intentionally affect the results of a nominee for the party. and khan says that's morally wrong and against what their republican party stands for. adam khan, washoe county republican party: "who ever may be thinking that, we encourage them not to. because if we start trying to decieve the election rules to get our own political gain, we really start crumbling down the foundation that this society was built on." nevada secretary of state, barbara cegavske also issued this statement to discourage dual caucus participation. saying quote, "it is a concern that a registered voter in nevada might participate in both caucuses. those voters suspected of participating in both caucuses will be reported to both major political parties and may be subject to challenge and disqualification from further participation in the nominating process." end quote. chris wicker, vice chair of nevada state democratic party: "we take it seriously. and if people are found doing that, we will bring it to the attention of the proper authorities." chris wicker, the vice chair of
party says voters could switch their party affiliation in the time leading up to the caucuses. so the democratic party says there's no way to tell if someone is maliciously voting, to participate. chris wicker, vice chair of nevada state democratic party: "we don't intend to change our process at the caucus day at all. we will go full steam ahead with letting anybody who shows up and wants to participate in our caucus and is either a registered democrat or signs a registration form, they can participate." it's also a possibility that democrats could have registered republican by february 13th and could vote in both caucuses as well. as more information develops in this ongoing story, we'll be sure to bring you the latest details. covering campaign 2016, amanda ketchledge ,channel 2 news. thanks amanda. democratic presidential candidate bernie sanders spoke to a large crowd at the nugget in sparks today-- and he didn't waste any time getting to key issues in his campaign.. like fixing a rigged

the pyramid lake lakes played visitor against the whittell warriors. this was back and forth all game... here at the end of the first, palmer chaplin drives and dishes to troy libert for the lay-in... warriors up two... until pyramid lake comes right back. allen tatsey from off camera, burries the 3 at the buzzer. then in the third... it was still a two point game... then wittell's caleb moretti knocks the ball loose and takes off. he gets it back in transition and quickly gets it to palmer chaplin for the two. and whittell goes on to win 60-49. and the division 4 northern tourney is all set mineral county will tip off with whittell at 1....at wooster now don't you go anywhere, we're going to check in on some girls' action coming up after the break. for her "experience, leadership, tenacity," the las vegas sun endorses hillary clinton. just like planned parenthood action fund endorses clinton

flores: i was raised by my father. my mother left my family when i was 9 years old. things really went from bad to worse for me. this isn't just about numbers, this is about real lives. this is a system that isn't working for the everyday person. it's one of
the reasons why i decided to endorse bernie sanders. nevadans are looking for people who are willing to think big, to be bold, and to fight for everyday people. and that's exactly what bernie sanders is doing. sanders: i'm bernie sanders
in the last 6 meetings of the governors series....but this time the pack has to play in the rebs house. time the pack has to play in the rebs house. the pack is 4-3 on the road this year...tip set for 7 at the thomas and mack center it will be televised on cbs sports network. the wolf pack baseball team opened up the 2016 season with a loss to northwestern in mesa arizona....in game 2 nevada had an early lead but wind up dropping that one 5-1. the wolf pack softball team is in las vegas for the desert classic, they knocked off uc davis 8-7 in game 1... and then
there are those who say we cannot defeat a corrupt political system and fix a rigged economy. but i believe we need to lift our vision above the obstacles in place and
look to the american horizon. to a nation where every child can not only dream of going to college, but attend one. where quality healthcare will be a birthright of every citizen. where a good job is not a wish, but a reality. where women receive equal pay
an america where after a lifetime of labor, there
is time for rest and grandchildren. a nation that defends our people and our values, but no longer carries so much of that burden alone. i know we can create that america if we listen to our conscience and our hearts and not to the pundits and the naysayers. i'm bernie sanders. i approve this message, and i ask for you to caucus for me. thank you. welcome back its time for plays of the night. 1 . fernley taking on elko -- kyrin allen steps in front of the pass for the steal -- he finishes in style with the jam.
