closed captioning will resume shortly metro police are asking for your help finding who's responsible for a series of violent home invasions. two of them happened relatively close together on the valley's east side. one was near desert inn and theme .. the other was near vegas valley and cabana drives. police say they happened in january.. police believe at least three people forced their way into these homes .. and both times pistol-whipped people inside the homes.. one of the victims suffered a brain injury.

hopes of getting more teachers at clark county schools. fox 5's miguel martinez-valle joins us at the clark county school district administrative building with the details. as of now there are 709 teacher openings in clark county schools. the district says the governors move will bring in at least 30 new teachers next week alone... the emergency measure comes after a change in the federal law which restricted the state from giving provisional licenses because they would be risking federal funding... now that we dont risk federal funding, clark county will be able to hire teachers who are not licensed in licensed in other teachers were turned away or forced into a nevada's requirements for would work as teachers during this period, they will now be able to work full time... charla hearn- president rectify the know, a lot of students here are being taught by

one of the biggest super bowl parties will be taking place.. downtown. the downtown las vegas events center will host its first ever "big game bash". it's on the corner of carson and third - near the fremont street experience. it's owned and operated by "the d" resort. a massive 20,000- square-foot is ready with stadium seating .. and giant high-def television screens. politics seems to be the other big draw to las vegas this year.. and the presidential campaign is back in the valley tonight. former president bill clinton is scheduled to campaign for his wife, hillary, in about an hour at the united brotherhood of carpenters international training center in las vegas. then tomorrow .. plans on going to pahrump to campaign for hillary at manse elementary school at 9:45 in the morning. both events are open to the public .. but you need to sign up in advance through the clinton campaign web site. nevada's largest newspaper .. and our main
