related to the raid. it relates to the end of a 30 year contract to supply power to southern california... and expires at the end of september 2017. in 2011 president signed the hoover dam allocation act allowing the sale of power to more people in nevada, arizona for 50 years october 2017 outside the leavitt home in henderson at least a half dozen vehicles belonging to law enforcement agents were parked in such a way that no one inside the home could drive away. just before noon an fbi agent moved a vehicle to allow a pickup parked in the garage to leave. the pickup filled with boxes. a short time later another undercover vehicle was backed into the garage. meanwhile in boulder city, agents performed a similar operation at the building that houses the bureau of reclamation and department of interior. agents going in and out seizing evidence. leavitt's name was found on two other properties besides the one here. we spoke with people inside those homes. one

to around the corner from this home said they are renters, a person at the of the home said leavitt no longer owns the property. it's not clear whether or not leavitt is the only person subject to a criminal investigation, or if more raids could be coming. the fbi says so far there have been no arrests in connection with the raids. while we connected at least one person --rick leavitt-- to all three locations... it's not clear how many people were subject to the seized documents. fox5's ophelia young continues our team coverage in southwest las vegas at the raid location of a local accounting firm, linked to the other two locations-- and to that hoover dam audit. all day we've asked why the fbi is searching the accounting firm behind me ll bradford cpas. what connects the firm to frederick leavitt and the bureau of reclamation? the southern california public power authority confirms on the phone with me - ll

leavitt is a director - was awarded some money to conduct an audit of the hoover dam. heres what we saw this morning. "i saw metro cars outside the building i saw officers making their way inside." other than police bringing in some backpacks and suitcase into this office building off west sunset near durango things were business as usual on the first and 2nd floors. it was the 3rd floor fbi, irs and metro were interested in - ll bradford, cpas. there is one person that connects ll bradford to a henderson home and a bureau of reclamation office in boulder city - both also raided the same day... a man named frederick, or rick zaffarese leavitt. an accountant with the us department of interior... leavitt is also a director of ll bradford cpas... we've found out - he is also the director of vestin, a realty mortgage company and board member of vestin groups - that company is located on the second floor of the same

"do you know if the companies on the second and 3rd floor are connected i believe its goign on on the 3rd floor i dont know what the relation would be to anything on the second floor so you dont think theres anything on the 2nd floor all the commotion is on the 3rd. as far as i know yes." fox 5 also walked into vestin's office on the 2nd floor - the receptionist had no knowledge of a raid as of early afternoon.... but in calls to the office another worker told us they had no comment. only a couple cop cars remaining as of when we were this afternoon. we saw a few cops back and forth from their cars but i didnt see them documents out reporting live. we also called the bureau of comment-- but were referred to the

just four months after an fire ripped apart an east las vegas home - the same house is now the scene of another fire investigation. fox5's abby theodros joins us live in the news room with why neighbors say this is no coincidence. afternoon in the neighborhood where this every neighbor we spoke with decline an on camera fear of retaliation. but response from people in the area is that whoever did this was trying to send a message. this home or what's center of two fire investigations. first - an arson - in became the scene of a grizzly murder. mario jimenez was found dead inside the home. other family members narrowly survived including the man front of the house bound and bleeding. inside two women burned and bound and a child left all alone. today - the clark county coroner's that one of those jimenez - died from her injuries. while

home - a friend of jimenez drove by - and said even she didnt feel safe passing by the home. nats that could be because of a new investigation officials have opened a new case - before they could close the first one.. tim szymanski, lvfr pio: we went to the same house again last night just a little after 11. heavy flames and smoke showing on arrival. multiple 911 calls. last night the same house caught fire again. las vegas fire and rescue is investigating and they say its too early to determine a cause or link to door knock telling a different story. people in the area said they've seen lots of cars near that home. multiple neighbors under the impression that the family was linked to the mexican drug cartel. while metro police would not confirm that information - word from neighbors was consistent: this home was a target. there are still lots of questions. metro police tell us they continue to investigate

vegas fire and rescue is also investigating both fires. and coming up at 5:30 i'll tell you how neighbors describe the family that formerly lived in the home. investigators say no one was hurt in wednesday night's fire. a fire also tore through a vacant gas station overnight. it happened in henderson near lake mead parkway and warm springs. firefighters arrived - just before midnight and quickly extinguished the flames. the business has been vacant for quite a while. there were no injuries... and the cause is under investigation. the man accused of attacking a metro police k-9 with a machete... faced a judge for the first time since the incident. tolavius timmons was in court this morning. the judge increased his bail from 50 to 75-thousand. police arrested him last week after officers tell us he barricaded himself inside a home during a nine hour standoff. metro sent in a k-9 named "nicky" to help take timmons into custody.

nicky more than a dozen times with a machete. the k-9 underwent surgery and is now recovering. nicky actually paid a visit to fox five this morning. we'll have more on that... coming up later in the newscast. auto theft is on the rise in the northeast valley. metro police say the area is not a bad or unsafe are to live in ... but more people have been stealing vehicles. in fact, people northeast have reported 130 auto thefts in five the new year. police say many of them are being stolen from apartment complexes. sgt. fred haas / las vegas metro police "i don't think the northeast is an unsafe place to be. i come to work over here because it's important to me. out chain of command lives in this area as well, so place to be. you want to make sure the criminals don't have the opportunity of the area though." metro's northeast area command also said call them if you see anything or place. they might not know there's a no one has told them. you can also and call crimestoppers.. its number is 7-0-

dispensary is now open in the valley. "essence vegas" opened its doors near tropicana and lindell yesterday. the dispensary will provide medical marijuana and treatment to approved patients. the company says an on-site nurse will be available to discuss dosing and practices. raided accounting office-- but fox5's les krifaton tells us the connection between the raids... and what may have spurred the investigation. this is the home where the fbi conducted one of three raids this morning that the review journal relates to a financial audit of the hoover dam. this home belongs to frederick leavitt one of the people who oversaw the audit. it relates to the end of the current power contract with southern california which september 2017 and the start of the new 50 year contract that begins in october 17. leavitt is the management bureau of reclamation but also holds titles as the accountant the interior and is a director of vestin fund. fbi agents and the hours here from the home. while that was going on raids were taking accounting
