a tow truck tips over trying to clear a semi from the highway - so a bigger tow truck is called in to help... this happened on highway 18 near mason city on wednesday. the iowa state patrol says a two truck hauling candy started on fire... when a tow truck was called to the scene to help, it tipped -- so a bigger tow truck wawabrought in. no one was hurt. today friends, family, and firefighters are remembering a young eastern iowa man who died in a car crash. 22-year-old jedidiah wilson died when the car he was in crashed with another car on yukon avenue in bremer county last saturday. officials say wilson wasn't wearing a atbelt. he was airlifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. wilson was a volunteer firefighter with the oran fire deparmtent. today, following his funeral services, frfrends and firefighters gathered at the

kwwls olivia mancino just returned from oran -- she joins us now live. im t td this is such a huge loss for the community-- he impacted so many people, and that was evident just by seeing all the cars outside his funeral in fairbank today fire trucks representing multiple fire departments in fayette county driving in to show their support... dozens of cars lining the parking lot and streets-- people who knew him best telling me he went out of his way to make everyone feel loved and special and was a prime example of what a firefighter should be. the trail-blazers snowmobile club last night the club rode to his visitation as a tribute to him we have pictures of that on our website and our facebook pae. officials are still investigating the crash. in the iowa legislature...a new bill would require iowa high schools to provide a certified athletic trainer or health care professional at all varsity home games for what they're calling "collision sports" those sports would include football, wrestling and soccer. while some larger schools already fit the bill, having an athletic trainer on hand, many schools in the state would have to get one, at least for these home games. we are told this could cost a school 25-hundred to 5- thousand dollars a year. an athletic trainer at the university of iowa is part of (cg: brad floy/ secretary for iowa atheltic trainers' society) "if you can afford to have these sports then you need to have an athletic trainer or health care provider on site to have them." part of the reason the bill is only addressing varisty

new at five... two dubuque ssriff's deputies and a local veternarian are being credited with saving the life of a bearded dragon found on the side of

the bearded dragon, now named daenareys was found nearly frozen to death last month by the two deputies. they brought her to the nearby home of a veternarian, where they started to gradually warm her up. within 24 hours, the lizard was nearly baa to normal,,uffering just a few frostbite injuries. her rescue has been garnering a lot of attention in the dubuque veternarian, petmed) "it's nice to help something. it's a good us right in time, she is going to live a long, healthy life and the ouououring of support is pretty awesome." we're going to have much more on this unusual rescue coming up tonight at six. eleven semi trailers filled with iowa to flint michigan. cyclone basketball star and flint native monte morris called on the good people of iowa to of a water crisis... hyvee donated the trucks filled with water after hearing morris ask

rapids neighborhood leads to the euthanization of one dog -- and the broken heart of its owner. kwwl's hillary maglin talked to the woman who was forced to say for diana hogan... losing her dog sabrina anne was like put her at peace, and so we had attacked by two other dogs - a lab and a brindle pit bull - on february 5th. sabrina was outside when the loose dogs attacked. (sot) "my husband went to unleash sabrina anne, and the pitbull grabbed onto her stomach, and just broke it's way hogan's home - the pit bull attacking sabrina - the lab scratching hogan as she tried to save sabrina. after taking sabrina to the vet - she was unable to be but hogan hasn't forgotten about the pup. she
