officer that did this to me)) runs: 06 connecting the dots. determined his name, and that he was a norfolk police officer. norfolk police internal affairs gets involved, and calls the victim who then goes in and gives a statement to an investigator. norfolk police connecting the dots on one of their own. we are not reporting the name of the officer because he has not yet been charged. we did find the car that the victim photographed in the walmart parking lot at the home of the police officer. we will not show the car, or his home, or report his name at this time. three meth lab busts in newport news this week. the latest discovered just this morning - police say they're all

the first, found sunday, on middlesex road. wells. she faces charges of methamphetamine and possesion of heroin. the search led police to a second lab on the same street tuesday. michael adkins and dana chandonnet face charges of making the drug. police say that bust led them to the third location on sidney place. 10 on your your side's jason marks is live at the scene. jason, have anymore arrests been made? we just spoke with newport news police and they tell us 25 year old tanner meeks has been charged with making and selling meth out of his home on sidney place. this is video from early this morning.. you can officers pulled out of meeks' home house. as you mentioned this 3rd just the past couple days. police tell us the investigation led them to

two working labs- one in the house and the other in the shed. officers in has-mat suits took their time this morning dismantling the labs. very dangerous situation. both the house and shed have been condemned. neighbors are glad police got to the labs before something bad happened. "there are a lot of older people in this neighborhood everybody is friendly never had any problems in this neighborhood but just to come home from work and be like what's going on it is unsettling cause anything could have happened in this neighborhood especially kids and stuff running around very crazy" you can see the yellow sticker on the door that the home been condemned. as we mentioned this was the third house raided in newport news in the last week. hampton police tell us

40s and 50s. supreme court justice antonin scalia, who died last weekend, is honored today at the court where he served nearly 30 years. it's justice scalia's final return to the where he was among the longest-serving justices in u-s history. the lincoln catafalque where the casket will remain until eight o'clock tonight - while members of the public pay respects. his current and former law clerks lined the steps as the flag draped casket, carried by supreme court police, was brought into the great hall. before the public viewing, scalia's son, father paul presided over a brief private ceremony for fellow justices and family members. president obama and the first lady are expected to pay their respects later today. stephen breyer, in the first public appearance by a justice since scalia's death, said his colleagues are all sad:

a real life force at the court. and it's going to be a grayer place without him. and a decent man who made an enormous impression." a funeral mass will take place saturday morning at the basilica of the national shrine of the immaculate conception. the mass is open to friends and family members. we're following a 10 on your side investigation throughout hampton roads courtrooms. three down, but still one status for a former business owner convicted of fraud in four different cities. he was a headstones dealer who took money from grieving family members -- and then never delivered what they had ordered. investigative reporter chris horne has followed him through the courts for the past year and a the sentence this time? it's another 21 months active time in prison for edward prince. let me tell you about this case and then we'll put it into the context of the the

prince is 56 and was already serving time for a previous fraud case. this morning he told marjorie arrington his health problems kept him from coming through for two clients who had paid him a total of just over four thousand dollars. the judge sentenced him to a total of 14 years, but suspended all but 21 months. c 12 25:28 brian dunnigan defense attorney -- unfortunately it's a business involving a lot of emotion where people are trusting you to bring closure, and it's a sad situation. i believe mr. prince tried to do the best he could, in hindsight as i said i think he should have filed bankruptcy. if you add today's sentence to what he got in december in virginia beach, prince is now serving a total of nearly three years active time. but the biggest case involving prince is coming up in april in norfolk. that's where prince has pleaded guilty to nine victims - more than all three previous cases combined.

attorney starting today at 4 - how he would have handled the case differently if he had another opportunity. plus -- the likelihood any of prince's victims will see any of the money they lost - and his message to his chesapeake victims. chris horne 10 on your side. norfolk police say a serial burglar is at it again. investigators say he's now responsible for three more burglaries, bring the grand total to eight. take a good look at this man. officers say he's hit several local restaurants, including the golden china on east little creek road on valentine's day. they also say last month, he broke into united refrigeration on progress road, and golden city on azalea garden road. this is video of when he attempted to break-in at ole bay seafood. if you recognize the man in this video, call the crime line at 1-888-lock-u-up. one person died in a late night accident on the eastern shore. troopers say 19-year-old austin rainey from chapel hill died after three vehicles crashed in accomack county. it happened last night on route 13

road. state police say a woman driving a pick- up truck turned into a van rainey was riding in. a tractor-trailer then slammed into the van. police charged the pick-up truck driver, linda stevens, with failing to yield the right of way. four suspected burglars set their sites on one officer who responded to the scene of their crime. 2 of those suspects ended up dead. the details of this officer involved shooting. by now, you've seen the terrifying crash caught on tape. we'll have the latest on those inside and what investigators are looking for today. human trafficking is a huge problem in hampton roads, and now police have a new approach to try and put and end to this tragic crime. plus - tomorrow is a big day for anyone running for president. we'll have the latest from the campaign trail in our next half hour. and - we'll see the sun for the next three days! meteorologist jeremywheeler is tracking a sweet warm up for the weekend...but there's also rain on the horizon.

developing news out of california two suspects are dead after an officer involved shooting in california, thursday. police say an officer responded to a call of a burglary in progress. when he approached the scene, police say four men confronted the officer. shots were fired - two of the suspects were killed - the other two taken into custody. this shooting happened about three miles from where another officer involved shooting just happened the day before. according to the police, there have been 50 shootings in the area since january and law enforcement is cracking down hard on gang activity. (s/chief carlos rojas - santa ana police:03) "we are strategizing and enforcing different laws within the gang areas to really try to bring this under control." police are still trying to determine if the four men involved in thursday's

the names of the suspects killed have not been released. an indiana high schooler is recovering after police say a man came after her with a small hatchet. the suspect, 59-year-old dana ericson faces several charges, including attempted murder. investigators say ericson attacked the young girl, who is a foreign exchange student from china, hitting her in the back with the hatchet. they say the two did not know each other - and it happened on the street. the girl is expected to be ok. ericson is set to be in 13-year-old nicole lovell's murder - in an effort to police are still investigating the stabbing that killed lovell. two virginia tech students face charges in her death. the search warrants could contain key details of the prosecution's evidence against david eisenhauer and natalie keepers. eisenhauer faces abuduction and murder charges. police charged keepers with accessory before and after the fact and illegally dumping nicole's body just across

carolina. the texas boy now know as the affluenza teen is in court today - to find out if his case will go to adult court. deputies moved ethan couch to an adult jail two weeks ago - but that didn't necessarily mean his case would be heard in an adult court. if a judge decides to move the case - couch could be sent to prison. couch was 16-years-old when he drove drunk and caused a crash that killed four people in dallas. he was sentenced to probation after his defense attorneys said his wealthy upbringing impaired his ability to tell right from wrong. but couch and his mother were arrested after fleeing to mexico. months after being sentenced - former subway pitchman jared fogle faces a legal deadline. attorneys for fogle have to file appeal documents by the end of the day. the 15 year sentence is longer than the maximum term prosecutors agreed to in a plea deal. his legal team says the

fogle pleaded guilty to one count of distributing and receiving child porn. he also admitted to paying for sex with underage girls. apple is getting back up as it battles an fbi request to help unlock an i-phone used by one of the san bernardino terrorists. but police are pushing back - and not just in california. cyrus vance new york district attorney "this has become, ladies and gentlemen, the wild west in technology. apple and google are their own sheriffs. there are no rules." prosecutors in new york say they have 175 apple devices they cannot open for evidence, in crimes ranging from identify theft to murder: but tech giants including google, microsoft, facebook, and twitter, all rallied behind apple's decision. the families of san bernardino victims even say - this is a tough choice. conservatives. clinton and trump are still leading nationally in the polls, but clinton's lead has been cut in half in just the last month. the hampton roads area is a hotbed for human trafficking. now newport news police are teaming up with survivors to help share their stories about a crime often hidden in plain sight. the newport news department of human services held a forum last night. survivor tanay street discussed how "pimps" manipulate victims into the crime by preying on the young and vulnerable. street says nearly 20 years ago, it was her then boyfriend who lured her into trafficking. police in hampton roads say they often see it online, in brothels, motels, and massage parlors. now investigators are pooling their resources to crack down on it. "we're bringing on non profits and advocates and service providers to try to help these ladies get out of this situation and better themselves." tanya street "today, law enforcement are becoming more aware,

more than 40 people were killed in a u-s airstrike at an isis training camp. this happened overnight in the city of sabratha. that's near the tunisian border. a senior u-s official says the strike likely killed a senior extremist leader who is linked to a tourist massacre in tunisia last year. that attack killed 23 people. an inaugural ceremony was held today - for the newly built u-s naval forces korea headquarters in the south korean. leaders say they're confident that the u-s and south korea working side by side at the same base would help maintain peace on the korean peninsula in the face of recent north korean provocations. u-s naval forces were all

marsha and darnell blount were both seriously hurt when flames ripped through their home on victoria drive. that's off south plaza trail. alerted by their dogs barking - marsha escaped. firefighters later rescued her husband, darnell. since then, doctors released marsha from the hospital, but darnell is still in the icu. their daughters spoke only to ten on your side saying - both were long time city employees. c1 19:12:22 - she had just retired. and the plan was for her and my dad to finally get to seeing your parents who have worked so hard for certain things and for them to have to start all over... several community members started collecting money and donations for the blounts. we have multiple ways you can help the family on wavy-dot-com. the article is on our homepage. thousands of acres of land are burning across oklahoma this mid-day.
