the workweek. good morning, this is nbc 10 today. i'm rosemary connors. it's 5:30 sunday. first alert meteorologist karen thomas is tracking our sunny sunday forecast. >> yes, i like the way you say sunny sunday because when the sun comes up we'll have plenty of it this morning. cold outside but we're looking live at boathouse row. it is a lovely morning out there. cold for sure. if you are headed out early, you want to bundle up. it's really a gorgeous morning. temperatures around the region show us that the cold temperatures are with us indeed. we're at 32 degrees right now in philadelphia. in the 20s to the north and to the west. 25 degrees down in atlantic city. the cold spot right now is millvil millville, 22 degrees. we'll be warming up through sunday so we're calling it nice. 47 to 50, which is pof average this time of year. light win. all in all a nice sunday shaping
up. forecast gets cloudier into the evening hours and overnight and we do have precipitation headed our way. i'll be back with details on that. rosemary. >> thanks, karen. we'll check back with you shortly. a developing story, a car dragged a philadelphia police officer during a traffic stop in overbrook. investigators tell us the driver took off and crashed in east falls. one in custody and another on the run. nbc 10's drew smith live walking us through. drew. good morning. we know police are search fog ar woman who they believe was in the car with a man who they currently have in custody. watch this. nbc 10 that exclusive video of officers handcuffing a man and walking him over to put him in the back of a wagon. we're choosing to blur his face until we learn his name and the charges he's facing. police found him and you can see the crash at the amp.
officers pulled the car over at 60th and lancaster. at some point the car pulled off dragging the officer, though we're told the officer did not report significant injuries. he did get the license tag number. another spotted the car on city avenue but the car would not stop until it crashed on the bridge a short distance away damaging two other cars. police searched the area for the woman they are currently looking for had but they never found her at this point. we did speak with a witness out there helping police during all of this. we're going through that interview right now and we'll let you hear some of it coming up in 30 minutes. live in southwest detectives, i'm drew smith, nbc 10 news. firefighters had to call for help after the floor of a former south jersey tavern collapsed while they were inside. those firefighters did make it out safely. investigators are now looking into what sparked the places. flames roared inside the former tavern in millville, cumberland
county. firefighters set up defensive positions to make sure it didn't spread to nearby homes but the former bar on 2nd street is destroyed. witnesses reported explosions, at one point the floor collapsed falling into the firefighters apolo. >> one on top of the bathroom and people going out the bathroom and sides. >> we watched it happen. it was so chaotic when it happened. it was scary. >> after the collapse firefighters stopped working so they could account of their crews. no one was hurt. back to nbc 10 exclusive, the family of the philadelphia cabdriver describes his painful recovery after being shot on the job. police say passengers opened fire on him and those gunmen are on the loose following the shooting in point breeze yesterday this morning. three struck him, two grazed his head, another lodged in his arm.
police sayest driving three passengers to 26th and taskers street when two opened fire. surveillance shows the cab running a stop sign before crashing into parked cars. destin managed to get help while passengers took off. his sister-in-law spoke only to nbc 10 how it unfolded. >> the boy said give me money. he said he don't have the money. at the time they took a gun and put it in his head. i don't understand how people can come and try to take the money and try to kill somebody. >> we checked with presbyterian hospital. penn presbyterian where alex destin is recovering. he's listed right now in fair conditi condition. now to decision 2016, the republican debate in new hampshire in the books, with marco rubio pulling second into tuesday's primary. rivals like new jersey governor chris christie took aim at him last night. >> you have not been involved in

sunrise at 7:04 this morning. it is quiet, it is cold. we don't even have clouds to speak of until later on today. cloud shield will be moving in. we will have that by 6:00, 8:00 this evening. the clouds will thicken and this is the system that's pushing up from well off the coast but pushing up from the carolinas tonight. could bring a little bit of rain/sleet mix along the shoreline there in southern delaware through the overnight make it a scattered snow shower here in philadelphia from that overnight into our tuesday morning. then we're just watching as snow showers continue through monday into tuesday. it looks right now that the systems that are coming up the coast will stay far enough offshore so that we won't really get slammed. by monday night, though, some snow shower activity north and west of philadelphia. the clouds stay with us. but early tuesday morning, another system, coastal low comes right up the coast but staying well offshore. so again, tuesday is looking
like on and off snow showers, accumulation of maybe 1 to 3 inches on tuesday. sort of pesky nature. sun and clouds nice today. we will be dry today for your sunday. 47 to 50 degrees. 50 for high temperatures. it's really not too bad. tonight cloudy, rain/snow starting from south jersey moving inland overnight tonight on and off. then we go to our seven-day forecast. super bowl plans tonight. if you have to be out driving, you'll be fine with just some clouds around but cold temperatures really tart to pick up tomorrow. 42 for a high tomorrow. it's sun in the morning but then clouds thickening. yeah, it looks like a chance of rain/snow shower late in the day into the evening hours and then that other system comes in for tuesday night -- excuse me, monday night into tuesday where we'll get on and off snow shower activity throughout the day tuesday. wednesday could start off with scattered snow showers as well. then we dry out but, boy, do we turn colder.
