that warm afternoon. planning the rest of your day by 9:00. temperatures in the 40s. low 40s. by lunch time 54. by 3:00, 59 degrees. topping out at 60 in philadelphia. mild on sunday in the middle 50s. a chilly coming back in our forecast and tracking snow and rain. sky 1230rs was over this apartment fire in burlington county new jersey. crews rescued several people from the florence toll gate apartments in florence township. medics took several people to hospital. nbc 10 was also at ground level of the scene. several crews responded to the two alarm fire. investigators said they will be looking at the cause of the fire today. and a brush fire that gave off this orange glow near homes in westville, gloucester county last night is out but it burned 2,000 acres of all the grass
near the delaware river. you can see a wall of flames burning on undeveloped land across the philadelphia navy yard. it took crews two hours to bring the fire under control. no one was hurt and no one had to be evacuated from nearby homes. a war of words between philadelphia top prosecutor and the head of the city's police union. they are fighting over what should happen to lesean mccoy. two weeks after the bar fight still no charges. the president of the fraternal order of police says the city's top prosecutor needs to act. >> to me the more you let it simmer just put it out, don't over think the case, don't be the judge and jury. you're the d.a., arrest them. >> it's my job to get it right and not get it fast. some people clamoring i have it
resolved one week from now. we have a lot of information to review, medical records to review, videotape, witnesses. >> police tell nbc 10 mccoy has not been questioned yet. if no charges are filed the union will file private complaints and go to the state attorney general. looks like kamille cosby will be deposed on tuesday. kamille cosby is scheduled to answer questions under oath in a defamation lawsuit. it was filed against her husband by seven women who say he sexually assaulted them decades ago. they say cosby defamed them by branding them as liars. the comedian has denied their allegations and filed a countersuit. in montgomery county the district attorney is opposing cosby's latest efforts have the sexual assault case against him dismissed. cosby's defense has appealed a
judge's decision to uphold the charges against his preliminary hearing march 8th. they argue cosby had an agreement with the former d.a. that he would never be charged but current district attorney asked the court not to they are appeal before trial. cosby is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a temple university employee back in 2004. decision 2016. it's primary day for republicans in south carolina and caucus day for democrats in nevada. in nevada bernie sanders and hillary clinton are running neck and neck and they both stumped for votes to the very last minute last night. hillary clinton host ad get out the caucus vote rally in las vegas. her husband, former president bill clinton and their daughter chelsea asked support towers caucus for hillary today. clinton's campaign is looking to minorities and unions to give her an edge. earlier in the evening bernie sanders held a future to believe in rally and concert in
henderson, nevada. the vermont senator greeted supporters and posed for photos. he said his campaign is gaining steam and confident he'll win today's caucus. in south carolina five of the six republican candidates put in a final dave campaigning before today's primary. ben carson held no public events. jeb bush brought in his mother to help get out the final vote. and marco rubio stumped for votes with help from former south carolina governor nikki haley. donald trump still leads the gop field in south carolina but the latest nbc news "wall street journal" poll shows his lead on senator ted cruz has shrunk to five percentage point. >> the mummers are marching down main street. drew smith is the live with a preview for us. >> reporter: 2016 has been controversial so far for the mummers but they are hoping to turn it around today. let's talk to the businesses here as well who are excited for

new year's day parade the mummers will be strutting down main street in manayunk today. drew smith is there to tell us about today's event and why this is a chance of redemption of sorts for the organization. drew? >> reporter: good morning. this all started here as a way to fundraise for the mummers tradition. today there will be another meaning to this, an effort to restore the public perception of the mummers by showcasing a family friendly event. 17 string bands will begin their mile long march. the atmosphere of this event is different than the new year's day event. there's a zero tolerance policy for public drinking. they created events for kids and adults and businesses on manayunk's main street say this is a good boost for the mummers and the neighborhood. >> we're celebrating our one year anniversary as a store in this location so kind of doubling with the mummers parade which should be fun.
