demoralization of his supporters where he's targeting five states specifically. there are five states that don't have a very large min population, minnesota, colorado, it's massachusetts, vermont, and oklahoma. if he doesn't sweep those five, then that tells you that i think the moral issue hit and suddenly we're in a different place in this campaign and it's very possible we're talking about hillary clinton presumptive nominee come wednesday morning. >> see you later this week. turning to republicans, the nomination appears to be donald trump's to lose. super tuesday states are voting well for him plus he got a huge endorsement from new jersey governor chris christie. can ted cruz or marco rubio top him at this point? >> we'll see. look, i think you set up tuesday just right. donald trump is going to be the delegate leader come wednesday morning after super tuesday. the question is who is in second. at this point, the best case rubio or cruz can make is if one of them is second in the
delegate going after super tuesday, then they can make the case, hey, i'm the only -- i'm the last alternative to trump left. trust me to try to stop him on march 15th, which really is the do-or-die moment for the republican party for the part of the party that want to stop trump. if they can't coalesce around alternative for march 15th state and stop trump and see that candidate beat trump in lasses like ohio, florida, north carolina, illinois, that doesn't happen, it's game, set, match. >> all right. chuck todd, thank you so much for that. we'll see you later this morning. >> you got it. well, white house candidates bernie sanders, john kasich and ted cruz will join moderator chuck todd on nbc's "meet the press." it comes your way at 8:30 right here on nbc 10. today you may feel some shaking if you live near joint base mcguire-dix-lakehurst starting at 8:00 a.m. and
