announcer: local, live, late-breaking. this is wesh 2 news at 6:00 in high definition. adrian: breaking news first at 6:00, a statewide amber alert ends after a missing baby' s found in orlando. good evening, i' m adrian whitsett. right now doctors here are checking out the two-month-old girl, taken during a kidnapping in south florida. we' ve learned a person of interest in the case, stephanie augustin, was found in fort pierce. deputies in broward county say

from fort lauderdale is it safe. taraji and her mother were asleep at at their home late last night when intruders took the girl. at the time, two men were reported to have kidnapped the baby. we do have a group working on more details. will continue to bring you updates as we get them. tonight, three middle schoolers face felony charges, accused of using hot pepper to spike their teacher' s soda while in class. as wesh 2' s matt grant reports, all of the suspects are 12-year-old girls. matt: three deltona middle schoolers are facing felony charges accused of spiking their teacher' s soda. the girls, all aged 12, remain locked up in juvenile detention. investigators say on tuesday two of the girls poured crushed red pepper flakes into the drink while another distracted her. the teacher, 52-year-old jayne morgan, suffered a sore throat, stomach pains, and shortness of breath. investigators say this was done in retaliation after morgan sent one of the girls to the principal' s office monday for dumping glue into another student' s backpack and for

s a terrible thing. i don' t understand why kids have lost all respect. matt: morgan' s neighbor, mark howard, used to drive school buses. he says the girls should be held accountable. mark howard: they got to be held responsible for their actions or they' re never going to stop. matt: one of the girls told investigators an original plan was to vandalize morgan' s car with paint. the three juveniles were arrested charged with poisoning and tampering. morgan tells wesh 2, "i want i want them to have consequences that teach them a lesson. i did not want them to be arrested and go to jail. teachers are out there doing the best we can for students. i love my students. they broke my heart. my career won' t be the same." matt grant, wesh 2 news. adrian: late breaking tonight, investigators are looking into what sparked a fire in a home, where a man was found dead. you can see here there' s hardly , anything left of the small home on southeast 155th place in marion county. firefighters say neighbors called 911 this morning when they saw flames. one man in his 50' s was inside

investigators have not released his name or a cause. we have new information tonight in the case of a suspicious package that cleared out a local movie theater. police in melbourne say the suspect, 53-year-old dawn laughlin, was arrested in pinellas county. the package was found last night in the women' s restroom at the oaks 10 theater. police say suspicious writing on it led to the evacuation of the building, which was filled with about 150 customers. the bomb squad was called in and found the bag wasn' t a hazard. t saying what was written on the bag. we now know the name of a suspect arrested in a two-county chase we brought you as breaking news last night. it started in oviedo and ended about 20 miles away in apopka. oviedo police say the driver rammed one of their cruisers and nearly hit an officer. once the chase got into apopka, orange county deputies used stop sticks. wesh 2 was there as that car pulled into a gas station and deputies slapped on the cuffs. today, one of the suspects, trent thomas, went before a judge. we learned he was out on bond in another case.

, us before he was taken to the hospital. trent thomas: i' m a really good guy. i' m innocent. adrian: the other suspect did not say anything. they are charged with aggravated assault on an officer and fleeing and eluding. searchers discover the body of a boater who disappeared in mount dora three days ago. orange county deputies say sonar equipment helped them find 76-year-old william robl' s body this morning in lake beauclair. his fishing boat was spotted from short wednesday. here it is. empty and spinning in circles after a line of severe weather rolled through. deputies don' t know why he went overboard. right now, firefighters are battling a brush fire in brevard county. here is some video of the helicopter preparing to drop water on that fire in micco. it' s estimated to be around 50 acres, around east drive, just south of micco road. we are told no homes are threatened by the fire. we turn now to first alert weather, we tried warming up today, but many of us didn'

temperatures in orlando make it down to about 50 degrees by 11:00, but we have some areas in the 30' s. i have you covered neighborhood by neighborhood in a couple of minutes. adrian: those who want stricter laws passed on gun control are gathering in downtown orlando. wesh 2' s matt lupoli is live where a march just ended in support of tougher laws. matt. matt: adrian, take a live look right now on the marchers downtown. they are walking from central boulevard down to city hall where the barbecue hest is being held. they say put your hands down, -- but your guns down, put your hands up. they want to send a message all lives matter. several families are here. we spoke to the mother of a shooting victim. she is looking for answers in her son' s case, and like others

construction crews are slowly getting re-started after the death of a worker. marvin franklin was run over by a dump truck as it backed up on-site along wymore road near kennedy boulevard wednesday. project leaders have been performing safety reviews since the accident up and down the 21 mile stretch hoping to prevent , another deadly accident. tonight, a local boy injured in a hit and run crash on his bike is recovering with a brand new bike. titusville police officers presented 8-year-old dayshaun hill with the bicycle this morning. police say a driver ran him over near his home on thursday and took off. dayshaun has a bump on the head, his bike, as you see, was just wrecked. police say they have a person of interest in the case, and some very strong leads. governor rick scott is calling on president obama to resolve a water crisis on the treasure coast. yesterday, he declared a state of emergency in two counties because of water released from lake okeechobee. the governor wants the president to approve repairs to the

business owners in stuart say the lake water is ruining the environment and their bottom line. jim cargill: i lost my business. i lost my home. adrian: environmentalists say the only real solution is to buy the land south of the lake to restore its natural flow to the everglades. a little more than 24 hours from now, spacex will try again to launch a rocket from cape canaveral. two times this week, launches for the falcon had to be 9 scrubbed. on wednesday, it was too windy. then thursday, flight controllers discovered liquid oxygen was flowing into the rocket. space-x will try again at 6:46 tomorrow night. if that' s a no-go, another attempt will be made monday. just in time for spring break, disney announces changes when it comes to their ticket prices. how much more it could cost you to visit the park and why some will be paying more at all.

announcer: you are watching wesh 2. adrian: an amber alert for a kidnapped two month old girl is over. she is being checked out at a hospital in orlando. she was kidnapped by intruders in fort lauderdale. a person of interest is found this afternoon in fort pierce. your next trip to disney could cost you a little more or less. walt disney world will unveil new seasonal pricing plan. starting tomorrow, you can purchase tickets online to the orlando and anaheim parks, where the prices will reflect a value , regular, or peak time for each. people should expect to pay more when busier times are forecasted. annual pass prices will not be affected, however multi-day ticket prices will change. a second lawsuit is being filed against ucf for that massive

beginning of the month. hackers stole the names and social security numbers of 63,000 current and former students and staff. one of them, a former manager for the school' s basketball team, is now suing. he wants more than $15,000 according to the lawsuit filed this week. it claims ucf failed to take action to protect its systems. through its data security website, we did find out the university is planning two forums next month for possible victims. one of the top dogs in the veterans affairs administration stopped in orlando today. va undersecretary david shulkin was here as part of a national effort to reach out to vets. he spent his time at the new lake nona medical center, promoting the national health care stand down. their goal to make sure vets , receive timely access to health care. 106 burmese pythons were caught during the florida python challenge hunt. according to wildlife officials, the longest of the invasive snakes, 15 feet long. over 1,000 people from 29 states
