star.sot: i really just kind of lost it and i jumped around and i got really excited about player is getting national attention. tonight - flooding from the rising roanoke river has shut down a bridge in salem.mill lane - near west riverside drive - is closed. and water is washing up onto the bridge. police have set up a detour. and lick run creek in roanoke is continuing to rise as well. rising waters from the creek have flooded the lick run greenway before - at brown- robertson park. the greenway has not flooded yet - but the waters still remain high. and even thought flooding will be a concern for the next few days- there is an immediate threat.thick fog has blanketed much of the area.here's a live look from the wfxr roof cam in roanoke county.you can see the

in blacksburg- friends and family gathered say goodbye to the 13-year-old girl who was stabbed to death last week. nicole lovell's vistitation wrapped up a couple of hours ago.funeral services will be tommorrow at 3 oclock at mccoy funeral home. and tonight- the two suspects arrested in connection with this case- are locked up and await their next hearing dates. natalie keepers has been charged with helping dispose of the body and being an accessory before the fact to the murder.her bond hearing tomorrow.david eisenhauer is charged with first degree murder- a hearing has been scheduled for late march. wfxr news has been following this story from the time nicole went missing, up to now. blacksburg for a news conference about a teen who had only been missing for a few hours at that point--and now we know-- the teen stabbed to death and two virginia tech students are charged in connection to her death.wfxr's solina lewis shows us the timeline of events in this distrubing case.

1:50-1:56 nicole lovell disappeared from her home in blacksburg in the early hours of the morning january 27th, a dresser pushed in front of her door, her family said, and no trace of the 13 year old...except a blanket and a few bottles of water missing from her room"whether it's a run away situation or whether it's foul play, we're not sure at this time stillthree days later, david eisenhauer, a virginia tech student, arrested and charged with abduction...it was only minutes before a vigil was scheduled to start outside nicole's home that friends and neighbors learned nicole's body had been found in surry county north carolina..."you know we did this to pray for nicole to come home we didn't realize until right before that she had been found and she wasn't going to be coming home"eisenhauer was then charged with first degree murder in addition to the abduction charges--the next day, his classmate, 19 year old natalie keepers was arrested for improper disposal of a body and accessory after the fact"eisenhauer knew nicole and used it to abduct

galax police are still working to figure out - who vandalized a furniture company last night.officials at vaughan-bassett furniture company say someone broke into the finishing room - and vandalized equiipment inside while the facility was closed - causing more than 100 thousand dollars worth of damage.people were sent home from work today - as manufacturing operations could not continue - due to the broken equipment.police say they are following some leads as their investigation continues.downtown shop owners - who work just blocks away from the facility - say this kind of crime - is not typical in their neighborhood. :00-:05:13-:18"we rarely have anybody have any vandalism or

in a franklin county garbage site near rocky mount.this morning after an autopsy- police say the pregnancy ended in a stillbirth.officers then arrested and charged katherine dellis.she's locked up in salem tonight. wfxr went in search of answers that could help a person who might be pushed to such desperation.we spoke to a local psychiatrist who says, it's important to for anyone feeling the strain to reach out ...any woman who is feeling like her mood is going beyond feeling down or sad or tired but is really starting to have some negative thoughts, wishing she didnt exist anymore, wishing things would go away, she should encouraged to do so without judgement. wfxr's charlie cooper went on to find, *if a child *is born alive and a mother can not care for the child ...there are options to keep newborns safe ... of college football, today is like christmas, with presents arriving on campus in the form of signed recruits... for virginia tech it was new head coach justin fuente's first class... many of the signees are holdovers who committed to frank beamer... but fuente certainly put his stamp on the class... let's take a closer look at virginia tech's recruiting class... the hokies recruiting class ranked in the top 40 by espn... tech announcing 21 signees, inclduing 9 mid-year enrollees already on campus... the crown jewels of the class are a pair of 4 star quarterbacks... they also added some sought after skill players... kevaney martin was at virginia tech's signing day event this afternoon... it's the quarterbacks that are

:01 :21:35yeah jeff, the hokies are feeling very confident with this group of 21 signees especially at the quarterback position signing two 4 star recruits jer od evans and joshua jackson. a position that is extremely important in justin fuente's high powered offense we are sitting there obviously on the offensive side of the ball we need to continue to add depth to the offensive line. we had one quarterback commitment and went and got jerod to continue to add some depth and add some competition there immediately we are trying to find the best quarterback that we can find. they have to be winners and competitors. some guys are going to be better runners than others we are not going to eliminate guys because of a certain style. but it has to fit into that style that we are looking for.with three quarterbacks returning there will be a total of five players competing for the starting role which will make

kevaney martin wfxr sports thank you very much kevaney... we move on to virginia... also a team with a new head coach who had limited time to make an impact on the recruiting trail... but bronco mendenhall was able to snag a couple of guys who could make a difference next season... let's dig a little deeper into that 2016 cavalier recruiting class... despite some defections virginia checks in at 60th by rivals dot com... they had 24 total players join them this year, with 12 of those guys being rated as 3-star players... one guy they relaly like is sonny abramson, a pro-style qb from new jersey who held offers from schools like iowa and duke... no major top end talent listed, but jermaine ferrell is in charlottesville and says that the cavs are pleased with the overall group coming in... :00-:06:20-:26jfvirginia head football coach bronco mendenhall is excited about the recruiting class coming in. 19 players signing national letters of intent plus the 4 already on campus. so the class is 23 players strong. coach mendenhall is already focusing on 2017 and building the interior line on
