th dominated from start to finish in their loss to virginia last night... that much is certain... but it wasn't all bad news for hokie fans... after missing a month and a half with a foot injury, standout freshman chris clarke returned to action for tech... and he had a very effective game... clarke scored 11 points and snagged 4 rebounds in only 13 minutes of action... despite a little bit of rust to knock off clarke showed his value to the hokies and the spark he will provide going further... buzz williams: "we ran 4 plays when he was in. obviously all 4 of those plays were for him so that he could remember what the play was. i thought he gave us some life. he's a good player and we could have used him all along."one thing that will certainly help clarke and the rest is the hokies is some rest, which they will now get... virginia tech doesn't play again until next wednesday at miami... it was senior night for
to washington and lee...1. the generals showed off some good ball movement... clayton murtha finds a cutting andrew franz for 2 of his game high 22...2. this is a nice move... eli sumpter with the no look pass to joey miller who knocks down the 3 to even things up in the first half...3. it's senior night... gotta get the ball in the hands of seth bradley... he goes with the pretty baby hook...4. neither team could get seperation in this one... andy kleinlein blows by the defense and finishes with the left...this game would go down to the wire with roanoke college prevailing 93-92... the maroons now 18-4 on the season... hidden valley hosting patrick county in a game that was moved by weather...1. the titans led from the get-go... marc arner tickles the twine from the corner for 3... 22-6 valley...2. the cougars did find some success in getting behind the defense... kody dillard to seth scott for the lay-in for patrick county...3. but the titans would keep it
the baseline "j"...4. then it's jonah fitzgerald slicing through the lane for 2 more... hidden valley picks up the 47- 34... the titans host cave spring in a rivalry game tomorrow evening... the nba is coming to town tomorrow night... well, one player is anyway... william fleming will retire the jersey of former colonel standout troy daniels at halftime of thursdays game against northside... the shooting guard now plays for the charlotte hornets... daniels is expected to be in attendance... it should be a really cool event... coming up... the radford unviersity baseball team is coming off an outstanding season that saw the highlanders reach the ncaa tournament... kevaney martin has a preview of what to expect from this season's squad... that's next as sports
:21:511:011:11 the radford baseball team is coming off their best season in programs history. the highlanders finished the season 45-16 and 20-4 in the big south capturing the conference regualr season and tournament champions earning their first bid to the ncaa tournament you know it was a great season and obviously it is one to look back on and learn a lot of things from. how the team was built. what arethe things we need to take from last year and continue from a recruiting standpoint? and our players inside the program how to take the next jump again.to make that next jump the highlanders will the have the challenge of filling the six starting positions, but they are confident there is plenty of talent in their freshman class to help fill the void. our talent this year is great. our freshman coming in should be fine. colby higgerson and kyle butler comign in they are ready to go and i dont think we are missing much but experience.with our staff being a little slim with injurioes a few of the freshman are going to have to step and play big roles this yearstand up: the freshman arent the only new addition to campus this year. the highlanders also welcome their brand new 8,200 square foot indoor facitliy it's a big advantage. any time you can get away from the cold and break a sweat. you can do a bunch of things at once in here its just a big advantage we have never really had this so it will be interesting to see how this pays off in the seasonthe highlanders kick off their 2016 season febuary 19th with three game series in macon georgia against mercer.
martin wfxr sports and finally tonight... i just find this really cool... local graphic designer clark ruhland did these fantastic mockups of what the hokies baseball uniforms would look like if they used the design of different major league teams... my favorite is the cardinals one that has a pair of hokie birds standing on the bat... that designed was actually used by tech last
