st this is a fox25 storm this is a fox25 stormtracker weather alert. >> julie: good monday morning, everybody, i am julie grauert. >> daniel: i am daniel miller. hundreds of closing already as another snowstorm moves in fox25 has team coverage as you wake up and plan your day. jessica reyes is standing by along 128 south in newton with a look at the highways. first go to fox25 meteorologist jason brewer is tracking a jason? >> jason: daniel, julie, a huge storm that intensified late yesterday. grew in size. it is patsing way to our south. it doesn't matter because we are getting the snow either way and nantucket up to barnstable county and the vineyard flipping over from rain to snow early this morning. so here you are watching live with me. that is the updated 4:30 a.m. radar getting close to provincetown. near barnstable. barnstable county over the next hour.

southeastern end of you. and will arrive around 7 a.m. a pretty good bet for the snow to be making its way up. still above freeze still above freezing in many locations north and west upper 20s to near 30 degrees and we will all get down into the freezing zone as we get throughout day and the atmosphere continues to cool. winds are gusting 45, 48 miles per hour right now boston down through the cape and islands. we have a blizzard warning. plymouth county, cape and island. that means blowing snow. winds 65 miles per hour. reducing visibilities down a quarter of a mile at times. obviously a good idea to be inside. winter storm warning in the pink. that is for six inches of snow or more in a 12-miles per hour period and the winter weather advisory for places in blue like manchester and keene and well to the west. and likely in boston, we are right on the edge of that 8 right on the edge of that 8-inch amount. anywhere north and south depends where those coastal bands, a quick eight inches of snow in the city.

see slightly lower amounts. worcester around 5, 6. and lower from there. looking at plymouth county with the heavier snow totals possibly. watch where the ocean-effect snow sets up and coastal bands and you get locally higher snow amounts. timeline, 6:00 in the morning snow arriving into boston, but by 8 a.m. we are more likely could have had up and 10:00 in the morning we are getting heavy, guys, once it starts it will be hard to get it to stop. much more coming up. head over to the maps right now. do want to remind you parking ban in effect for people in worcester that starts at 6 a.m., and many other parking bans in effect around the boston area. we are posting of that on our social media pages and our web site so check them out there. route 1, 93 nought route 1, 93 south moving along fine. pike from framingham over to the allston/brighton tolls. this is what you will see through brighton. however, this is not how it will stay throughout the morning. so enjoy this clear look.

24 minutes on the pike eastbound from 495 to mass avenue. 9 minutes on the expressway from the braintree split to the pike. 23 minutes from 495 to the leverett connector. the storm is starting on the cape and moving up across the region. >> daniel: fox25's jessica reyes is live with team coverage this morning much from newton along 128 south right now. and jessica, the message this morning is just to stay home. >> reporter: that's right, daniel, state police urging everyone to stay home if possible. mass dot is out treating roads across the state as we speak and here on 128. you can see things are pretty quiet, but that is expected to change once that snow moves in just in time for the morning commute. now, again, state police are urging everybody to stay home but if you have to head out for any reason, you are going to want to give yourself a lot of extra time. one thing to note that mass dot just put on their web site that the hov lane on 93 northbound

so you will want to want to remember that. and this is a road that you typically use. so right now things at noon are very quiet, but, again, that will change very quickly once that snow gets here. another look at what is happening and what you can expect throughout the morning in just 30 minutes. live in newton, jessica reyes, fox25 morning news. there are already more than 20 flights cancelled at logan airport this morning. that number is expected to grow. massport says crews are ready to clear the runway when the storm starts. however, if off flight planned for today check with the airlines before heading to logan. the mbta, normal services planned but the agency is bracing for problems along the south shore. >> the red line and the commute rails down in that area, we expect heavy snow even in the metro boston area. >> julie: the t is urging commuters to take public transit because driving will be dangerous. there will be 400 extra employees on staff for the next few days. 4:34 right now. a local town is coming together

we are now less than 24 hours away from the first votes to be cast in the new hampshire primaries. many of the leading candidates are campaigning in the state today. this morning donald trump will be greeting voters in salem. tonight, the billionaire plans to attend a large rally in the to attend a large rally in the.verizon center in manchester. catherine parrotta is on her way for the trump event. iowa caucus winner ted cruz will be stopping to see voters in barrington. the texas senator will attend a rally in raymond before going to an event in manchester which is sponsored by the tea party. other republicans with events include florida senator marco rubio who is visiting a factory in nashua. john kasich will be starting off with a town hall in plat tow. jeb bush in portsmouth and carly fiorina in manchester. >> daniel: for the democrats, bernie sanders is the front-runner most of the state front-runner most of the state-led polls. sanders plans to meet with

plymouth county where it is quiet. windy and cloudy and plymouth county we that i is an area that could get hit the hardest with up to a foot of snow in some local locations because of those coastal bands that could be setting up. as we get up toward boston, looks more like 6 to 8. farther to the west, lower amounts, 4 to 5, and in toward keene and back to the far western part of the state, a coating to a few inches, and as we go down to the south and east around the cape and islands, we have a please warning because that snow is going to be blowing around. winds gusting to 65, possibly 70 miles per hour. and it is going to reduce visibility. that is what the blizzard warning means. plymouth county as well, and a winter storm warning for the rest of the area until you get up into southern new hampshire. and by the way, the seacoast of new hampshire included in the winter storm warning too. plit mou, new hampshire. 6 or more inches of snow in a 12-hour period. that is what that pink chloramines all the way into

weather advisory and you will have dangerous roads due to accumulating snow, 2 to 4 inches. let me show you the current conditions, cloudy skies. places like leominster 28 degrees below freezing and still at 34 in boston but down over the last couple of hours since first got here in the overnight. i am watching temperatures slowly going down below freezing in many locations and we are still seeing mid-30s around the cape and island, but remember, it doesn't have to be at the freezing level and the surface. it just has to be cold up top and that's what we are seeing gradually coming down to the surface so the roads are are increasingly dangerous throughout the morning drive. show you the wind gusts, 45, 48 miles per hour. lawrence, boston, over to plymouth, hyannis, chatham, nantucket, the vineyard. near 50 right now. the winds sustained 20, 30 miles per hour. most locations through the day today. and it won't be until 7, 8:00 when we get down below those dangerous wind conditions,

with that blizzard warning up near plymouth county. the day planners snow drive from the south to the north. heavy snow and wind throughout midday hours and then at 5:00, we still have snow around. we still have wind, although the intensities will begin to taper off somewhat later on in the day. take a look at futurecast. 10:30 in the morning, most of the area covered up by 2:30 in the afternoon. you see that snow making all the way up into southern new hampshire, and 5, 6 p.m., wide widespread snow and, again, the snow rates taper a bit as the storm continues to go farther away us from and then at 11:00 tonight, we are still dealing with snow, by tomorrow morning, we are seeing breaks in the snow shield as the snow finally pulls away. it won't be finished because a couple of more shots for snow during the week. looks cold and snowy. do want to touch on the coastal flood concern. the high tide today, either side of it 11 a.m.

federal agents to find out why and where these guns are coming from tonight on fox25 news at 10. health officials continue to monitor bacteria levels following a sewer main failure in new hampshire. hampton beach and the nearby salt marsh are being checked for contamination. so far results show there is no cause for concern. town officials are trying to get emergency permits to dig up the sewer and find out why the main failed. a fifth grader from massachusetts is inspiring a lot of people these days. 11-year-old mary kinihan of rockland is member of the boston junior terriers. an 'let travel hockey team for boys. despite having cerebral palsy, puts on her uniform, laces up her skates and heads to the ice with her teammates. . she doesn't always stay on her feet but she gets up with a smile on her face. when the team's coach first met mary, he said he wanted her on the team to inspire and motivate his players.
