weather, hero's meteorologist bill karins. >> we've got two big blizzards to talk about and a rail cold air mass is going to take over the east. this is a huge monster storm off the coast. brought sleet to north carolina yesterday. we're so fortunate in many areas that this is heading along the coast and out to sea but it's going hit areas up into new england. there's this storm in wisconsin that will bring storms all the way down to missouri. cape cod is going to be a full-fledged blizzard. you can see the heavy rain band invading the cape. some of this is trying to move out to long island and eventually providence. we have blizzard warnings to nantucket. winter storm warnings all the way to montauk and islip. new york city under an advisory along with all our friends in new hampshire and much of maine. how much snow are we talking about, the higher the totals closer to the ocean.

m.v.p. vaughn mill they're takes most of the credit for the win. >> christa: who can we credit for this wonderful weather? oh, jeremy, you're here this morning. welcome back. >> jeremy: i had so much fun friday morning, i thought, let's make another storm and let's visit each other again. so here you go. blizzard warning south shore, as well as the cape and the islands. through the day today. for boston, worcester, fitchburg, gloucester, it's a winter storm warning, and that goes through later on this evening. storm coming at us between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m. it's running a little behind schedule. because of that it does get into town probably around 7:00, 8:00 in boston with steady snow aldi and heavier snow as we work into the middle part of the day with lighter snow overnight tonight. this storm, unlike friday's storm, this will generate fair amount of wind and we have the threat of coastal flooding because of an astronomical high tide. here is the storm. it really exploded yesterday as it proved off the south carolina coastline. it's pretty much done intensifying.

but it's still a guerrilla storm. it's going to be moving off shore. but even as it's moving off shore, a massive reach of the storm system that it can reach new england with snow and wind. the wind is out there at this time, the snow is on the way. and that will begin to spread north as we work through the morning hours, so at 10:00 a.m., again, snowy in metro boston, snowing steadily in southeast mass, south coast, south shore and the cape and up across southern new hampshire, nothing. then as we work into the afternoon, we see snow overspread the interarea. it is heavy for a while with most towns seeing the steadiest snow mid-day to early evening. then it does wind down overnight tonight. 7news begins now. >> christa: 7news is in storm force mode once again for you. it's monday morning, and, yes, we're preparing for round two of this winter blast. >> sarah: we could be in for a messy commute in the coming hours. several school districts are closed.
