we have breaking news in fitchburg where a fire turns deadly this morning. a hunt for the cause today. a nightmare of the ride. a flight out of boston forced to land when a passenger gets out of hand. passengers describing the scare in the sky. and trump and sanders scoring huge wins in the granite state this morning. all eyes turning to south carolina and nevada. good wednesday morning, everybody. i'm sarah french. i'm christa delcamp. a chill in the air. but what do you expect on february 10th? anyway. here's chris lambert with your forecast.
outside. good morning, everyone. 27 in boston. 26 in norton. we have snowflakes in the air as well. patchy light snow in and around the city of boston stretching out through worcester county. steadier through southridge and a little bit of patchy light snow down across the cape at this time at times you see a disk of sunshine through the clouds. also some snow showers in the air. through the day some scattered snow showers and squalls. couple of heavier snow squalls coating to an inch of snow possibility in some towns maybe locally just over that. not a big storm system for us. but if you get a burst of snow for half an hour could reduce visibility and coat the ground. keep an eye. mid 30s afternoon. bitter cold stuff record lows coming in sunday morning. more on the valentine's day forecast coming up. good morning, everyone.
we were -- there's the expressway northbound. you can see it's moving but it's still a very slow drive. let's go to the maps, a couple of incidents to tell you about. you've drive from braintree to boston over an half an hour this morning. this is 139 an accident. stonon. hingham on route 3. the pike you are slow and go eastbound into boston especially crawling from 128 eastbound into boston. you can see all that red there. north of town we have this accident in lowell 495 southbound at route 110 and another accident on 93 southbound at 125. your right on 93 southbound is very slow from 128 into boston. heading out of boston we have an accident at the tobin bridge. let's look at drive times as you get ready to drive tout door. 26 minutes on the expressway. half an hour on 93 southbound into boston. half an hour as well. let's go to breaking news right now.
hospital after debris fell off of a truck in mulberry this was the scene eastbound earlier today. no word on exactly what caused piece of equipment to come crashing down on the highway. you can see it clearly did some major damage to that car. we're also following breaking news out of fitchburg. firefighter rush to rescue three people inside a burning home. they pulled two people out alive. so sad here. a third person didn't make it. let's go to victoria warren and vicki we saw that you tweeted out these are members of the same family here. that's right. we're learning some information about the victims it's two sisters and one brother all adults and sadly one of the sisters didn't make it out of this home you see here behind me alive last night. this after a fire broke out just after midnight and was actually we just learned the fitchburg fire chief was among one of the first people to awry on the scene because he lives nearby.
pulled with the help from some police officers the brother out of this home. while it was burning. the brother was unconscious but quickly regained consciousness telling his firefighters that his two sisters were trapped in the second floor. firefighters firefighters firefighters raced upstair. they found one women. in the back bedroom they found the second one and she's pronounced dead here at the scene of this fire. the fire is out. what they need to do now is continue their investigation. the chief said that believe they know the cause. they not releasing information because they just want to make sure and check a few more things out as for the brother and sister they remain at the hospital this morning. we're told that they are both the one woman who they did cpr on she does have -- she did have her pulse back before they got to hospital. that's encouraging news beyond
their condition right now. but a third women a sister she did die here at the scene last night. live in fitchburg 7 news "today in new england." this crash shuts down route 18. it also knocked down a telephone pole and power lines. let's go to nicole oliverio who has the latest on that. the good news is route 18 has reopened. you can see utility crews still on the scene here. to get the lines back up making sure everyone has their power restored by this morning. a police chase that began in weymouth came to a crashing end in abington when the driver mashed into this poll. weymouth police say they pursued the driver who refused to stop. it's believed the car was stolen. the driver crashed on route 18
and knocking out power overnight to nearly 2000 customers. police shuttdown a section of route 18 as officers investigated and power crews repaired lines. rush hour traffic was detoured for several hours before the road finally reopened. the damaged car towed from the scene. driver and passenger taken to a nearby hospital. both expected to face charges. right now though it's unclear exactly what those charges are going to be. as for anyone left without power the number down to less than 200 customers. that's the latest live in abbington. nicole oliverio. 7news "today in new england." breaking a deadly car crash under investigation. saugus. a car rolled over and killed one person inside around 4:30 this morning. police are still trying to figure out exactly what caused crash. >> route 28 in quincy reopening overnight.
car crashed into a tree, rolled over and then burst into flames. one person was taken to the hospital. state police are investigating what happened. bernie sanders and donald trump cruising to victory in the new hampshire primary. the latest numbers in the morning show trump with 35% here. john kasich a surprise second with 16 and tight finish for third with cruz, bush and rubio separated by a few thousand boats. whopping 60% of the vote. it's a win for the outsiders and a loss for the establishment. >> like a political earthquake kind of shaking things up. we have team coverage of the results. and the reaction. let's start thing off with nancy chen. >> good morning to you. this was not a surprise result from the democrats. bernie sanders had been leading in the polls heading into primary on tuesday. hillary clinton had been trying

more instability and we'll get heavier burst of snow. it's almost like a spring time pattern or summertime pattern where you get the pop up showers in the afternoon with the day time heating and all of a sudden you know it's go from being dry to all of a sudden a quick downpour. well instead of quick downpour of rain could be a quick burst of snow this afternoon. here's the structure of it. not every town sees it. the towns under the snow squall get briefly -- brief reduction. visibility. overall the theme rear -- here is a coating to an inch of snow. temperatures temperatures above freezing for many towns this afternoon. it's still heavy enough to coat the road out there. you get under a squall. 18 to 25 tonight. tomorrow's forecast snow showers a little bit colder.

while stuck in traffic they asked officers to go ahead and call an ambulance. a few minutes later crews helped deliver baby austin. he and mom were taking to mgh and both are said to be doing women. the 10-year-old girl in california can run, jump and play basketball for the first time in her life after receiving a special gift. she's on heart transplant list for more than two years. a few weeks ago she got life changing call she would receive a heart from a young boy who died in a tragic accident. this morning the boy's parents are letting the little girl know she got the heart of a fearless and special person. >> he loved to climb. he loved american ninja warrior and baseball. he was an explosive kid as far as being able to do stuff. the little girl's parent say they are grateful their daughter now has a second chants at life.

target female students it's time for school officials to lighten up. this is dress that almost got nada kicked out of last year's prom. you could pairly see through the black and yet i had to cover up. this is what the dress looked like on her. she said her california high school make student sign a prom contract outlining the dress code. we've been looking online. a lot of the dresses conflict with the code. i don't know what to do especially considering that i'm plus size. in print the dress code seems reasonable. but the rules are more strictly enforced by the activities director. it does kind of like opening in the back. and i could wear that because she said the opening was too big. >> she said she brought her new prom dress into school to get it approved but it was denied. she also said the dress code for female students is much more strict than it is for male students. my parents are arab-american my parents are strict.

this afternoon. we'll have a few snow showers left around tomorrow as well. dry friday although friday night into saturday few more snow showers ahead of the real arctic air that will move on in. 20s now should reach the low-to-mid 30s this afternoon. i do expect some heavier snow squalls coating to an inch of snow. we'll keep an eye on it. stretch. weekend. that's coming up. breaking news on deadly fire in fitchburg. crews racing to rescue family member from inside a home. a third didn't survive. let's go to victoria warren on the scene with more. vicky? >> this is a family home. this two apartments in this building behind me. and a brother lived on the first floor and his two sisters lived on the second floor in the fire call came in after midnight. and sadly one of the sisters were told didn't make it out alive.
the first people on the scene. he rushed in with the police officer. and we're told that right on the second floor of the top of the stairs they found the brother. they pulled him out. the brother regained consciousness telling firefighters that his two sisters were still trapped inside. they found one sister were able to worry her out to ambulance then they later found the other sister and she was pronounced dead at the scene. the one sister pulled from the home we're told she original i will didn't have a pulse and they had to perform cpr. but the fire chief said she had regained her pulse by the time she got to hospital. we're waiting on update on the condition of best the brother and sister. the chief said they are still investigating the cause. they believe it started on the second floor. in that back bedroom where the one sisters located. they haven't said exactly what caused fire. live in morning in fitchburg. victoria warren 7news "today in new england." also breaking part of busy route 18 in abbington closed to

20 to 30 minutes and create slick conditions on the road. we're not expecting big time snow accumulations. wow don't need big-time snow accumulations. if you get underneath a squall keep an eye on things there. reduced visibility. could be couple of inch closer to inch and a half or two. i think generally speaking about a coating to an inch across much of eastern mass. lower-to-middle 30s this afternoon. we go above freezing. bust of heavier snow you will drop from 35 to 36 back to 30 or 32. partly cloudy tonight. cool, 18 to 25. close to seasonal levels. then tomorrow a little bit below seasonal levels. snow showers colder day. temperatures below freezing mark. northwest territories here minus 27. this is a piece of cold arctic air that will come through
