3 and we told you about two deadly crashes in greenville on last night's icy roads.now we know more... about the people killed. killed.one crash claimed the life of 17-year-old lauryn agnew.she was a senior at southside high school, where counselors are being made available to her friends and classmates.troopers say she hit an icy patch, slid on the road, and hit a tow truck head-on.the crash happened just before 8-30 last night on verdae boulevard near woodruff road.troopers say agnew was trapped in the car and had to be pried out.she was taken to the hospital...where she later died. died.the driver of the tow truck was also hurt and taken to the hospital.the company he works for...willimon towing...says is home recovering this afternoon. 3 agnew was one of the two people killed in crashes last night in greenville countythe coroner's office says 28 year old clayborn jester was hit and killed after he wrecked his car on 385... 3 but investigators say it

3 385, 85 been busy... busy...one passed away ahh a couple was injured and thats all i can about tell you if its icy then dont drive i mean its not only your life its everybody elses life too 3 3 troopers say they responded to more than *350 crashes during the height of monday's winter weather.north carolina highway patrol says the responded to more than *16-hundred! 3 covering our counties---- 3 the oconee county coroner says he believes those icy road conditions played a role in the death of a salem women- women-the crash happened just before 6 this morning on north highway 11 at lay mill bridge...but troopers say it wasn't discovered or reported to 9-1-1 until an hour later. the driver--identified as "judy tilson"--was taken to the hospital where she later died.the coroner says it's believed that slick roads caused the crash.the crash remains under investigaiton. 3 if you're hitting the swamp rabbit trail in greenville this week-we have a detour to

about!city officials say work is now underway to install a storm water pipe under the trail in the vicinity of peden street.because work is expected to take until friday to complete...a detour is in place.signs, cones, and barricades have been put up along the detour route to guide trail users and to ensure public safety. 3 new information at four---- 3 a new report shows an increase in officer-involved shootings in south carolinafrom last year. 3 investigators say the numbers are up slightly.. as they continueto protect and serve servefox carolina's jennifer phillips joins us nowwith a closer look at the numbers. 3 the report shows there were 48- officer-involvedshootings last year in south carolina. one officer was killed and so were 19 suspects.and investigators say each incident... may have required a different response. 3 3 3 when they get a call .. they respond.. respond.."the police is in the life-saving business."major

spartanburg police department department 3 "usually when we're called to a scene, it's not because people are having a good day." but he says that's when training kicks in in 3 3 3 "we try to train officers to make the right decisions all a the time, but things happen on a split second."according to a new sled report south carolina had 48- officer-involved shootings last year.it's the highest number since they've kept recordwhich started in 19-99. 19-99.sled investigators say the report also shows more people pulled guns on officers which played a role in the officer-involved shootings. shootings. 3 "our training is going to continue to be the same. we train to deal with whatever happens at the time." investigators with the spartanburg police department have had three officer-involved shootings since 2010. 2010. 3 "we had one back where the officer was shot first and then they returned fire."one in 2014- a traffic stop stop 3 "one officer was beside the car and was dragged down the street."and the other-- an officer responded to a 9-1-1

complex"when they got into the house there was a male sitting on top of a female stabbing her." her.""he stabbed her several times and that's when the officer fired to try and save her life."katrina sova died from those stab wounds..and the suspect donte noble died too after the officer fired shots. shots. 3 "depending on what the suspect does when the officer is called to the scene is how we respond." 3 here's a break down of the number of officer-involved shootings in the upstate last year. these nunbers include city and county agencies. greenville county- had -4- officer involved shootings, spartanburg county 4- oconee county one.. and anderson county one. 3 spartanburg police follow what's called a response to resistencepolicy. depending on the situation...investigators are expected to go through a seriesof commands which include warnings, persuasion hand control or pepper spray before using deadly force.cody
