rhodes remains in critical condition. 3 and just hours ago a relative posted on facebook that she may be brain dead. 3 fox carolinas andrew reeser joins us live from the home that burned late last night... andrew what do we know about this little girl's condition... 3 sophia rhodes suffered injuries from smoke inhalation according to the fire chief... now she is at the augusta burn center being treated...today fire officials were out here investigating the cause of the blaze...while the family's neighbors worked to gather donations. 3 3 3 residents on green street in honea path know 5 year old sophia rhodes as a ray of light in their neighborhood. 3 3 10:30:00sophia was a great kid, full of life full of spunk uh curious, asking lots of questions, made her way over to the house daily to play with the girls.neighbor

that ripped through sophia's family home sunday night... started around 10:30.when fire crews responded...sophia rhodes was the only one of the 9 people living there still in the burning house.21:00:16they thought they had gotten her out when they got outside and realized that she was not out. 3 3 3 3 20:59:24she was located between the couch and a wall....she was unconscious and was revived by honea path fire ems.taken to the augusta burn center for severe smoke inhalation, sophia fought for her life...but a relative today posted on facebook... "sophias heart and lungs may hold up but her brain cells wont... she is brain dead. happened on fourth street in the valley falls community near the university campus on october 11th. 11th.the coroner has had toxicology results since november... but says he didn't release them publicly because family members of mills sproull wanted to keep the information sealed.the a-g released an opinion last week-- saying courts would likely consider the toxicology results as confidential medical records.but because he is not bound by hippa laws, he decided to release the information from the reports: 3 3 3 3 in this case indirectly alcohol was a part of these young people's deaths but that is not listed in the cause of death on their death certificates. so what youre asking for is above and beyond whats normally requested from the coroner.. coroner.the coroner says only one family was opposed to releasing the toxicology reports--because they did not want to have relive the tragedy of the crash again.we

child.the sheriff's office says it began investigation after the girlfriend of "martin gaddy" reported finding the tapes--which appear to have been recorded in january 20-09.deputies say the female victim was just *11 years old at the time.gaddy is charged with sex offense of a child. 3 in cherokee county-a limestone college student is behind bars after gaffney police say he robbed another student at gunpoint on campus! campus!the two victims tell police that last monday...levi moody and another man walked up to a parked car and asked for a ride.when the victims refused and began to drive off...they say moody reached into the car and grabbed cash out of the center console. when the victims got out of the car to confront moody...that's when they say he pulled a gun and threatened to shoot.moody is charged with armed robbery.limestone colllle tells us moody will face a charge of violating the school's student conduct code...which will be treated independently from the criminal case.

this afternoon with how everyone is responding. sarah this poem has a lot of people talking, right? 3 yea cody- the poem does have people talking, but it also has a lot of the kids that go to easley high school behind me talking about how much they love this teacher.and now they have started their own efforts to help him get back into the classroom- including a facebook page blog posts online petitions and now t-shirts 3 some parents tell us the poem had inappropriate language in describing a sexual encounter. but many students are speaking out in support of its author mr. fish.chris mccullough is a senior at the high school and has not had mr. fish as a student but knows him and other students who have had him. he said mr fish has been very influential to many of the students at the high school and says things will not be the same if mr. fish does not return. he has started making a fight for fish t-shirts spending his own

donations if people want to give them. he said so far about 45 people have asked for the t-shirts. they are planning to wear them on tuesday for a sit in at the school 3 3 there are two kinds of teachers at easley the other ones that you go learn in the class and leave. and then there are the teachers that talk to you and inspire you and want you to do better and he's one of the last teachers there that's like that. that. 3 3 we asked pickens county for a remark about mr. fish and what happened in the ap lit class. they could not comment on camera but sent us the statement saying quote:last week, administration received complaints about content that was shared by an easley high school teacher. the district administration followed its standard procedure by placing the teacher on leave in order to investigate the allegations. the teacher will not be returning to the school or classroom. 3 as always, the district's primary focus is the education and welfare of its students. the administration will do everything necessary to make sure students have the academic support that is needed for the remainder of

for her life at the augusta burn center after being pulled from a burning home in honea path. path.this afternoon--the family of "sophia rhodes" is asking for prayers!fire officials say she went into cardiac arrest and suffered internal injuries from smoke inhalation.her family saying earlier today that she was in critical condition--before posting on facebook that quote: "sophias heart and lungs may hold up but her brain cells wont... she is brain dead.
