competitive candidates over to their side. lana zak abc news, des moines, iowa 3 3 3 3 happening today, closing arguments are set to begin in the federal trial over north carolina's voter i-d law. the law requires voters to show one of six accepted i-ds to vote. the u-s justice department and n-double-a-c-p say the law will make it harder for minority voters to cast a ballot. supporters say the move protects against voter fraud. it is not clear if the judge will make a ruling on the case before north carolina's primaries in march. 3 3 3 continuing coverage now of the impact of last week's winter storm. some transportation officials are now checking to see how the weather affected school buses. news 13's lauren brigman is live this morning from the madison county schools' transportation department. lauren? 3

3 tomorrow night... you can help decide the future of asheville city schools. a community forum will be held at hall feltcher elementary tuesday evening. school administrators and p-t-o members went door to door over the weekend ... at several public housing complexes. that's where the principal says about a quarter of student families from hall fletcher elementary live. they hope their efforts will bring parents to the forum tomorrow. 3 it's just important to come because your word can help

3 the carolina panthers have made the 2,700 mile journey from charlotte to san jose, california. the panthers have arrived on the west coast to continue getting ready for super bowl 50. camera crews on hand to capture the n-f-c champions walking off the airplane today. this is one of the signs that the super bowl is right around the corner. cam newton making a fashion statement as always. but as long as carolina keeps producing wins on the field, the fans don't care what cam newton wears. these players expressed their appreciation

3 it is 5:xx ...the newest addition to zoo miami makes its public debut. this little sumatran tiger cub was born at the zoo back in november. after getting his shots and gaining strength, he was introduced into his new habitat with a throng of fans watching. it is an important process to get him out here so he can start smelling his environment, and begin to start marking his territory. the cub spent some time eating, playing and posing for picture before saying goodbye. the zoo says the cub will not live in the exhibit just yet, but needs to be introduced to
