at 11:45. it's being held at the convention center in columbia. 3 and ben carson will be at several places today speaking to students. at 10:15 he'll be holding a town hall at the garden city preparatory academy for boys in orangeburg. then at noon he'll be particpating in the "bridging the gap" townhall at south carolina state university. tonight at 7 he'll be taking part in the conversative convention at the bon secours wellness arena in greenville. 3 and marco rubio will also be in greenville for a rally this morning. he'll be joined by senator tim scott, senator mike lee and former gamecock connor shaw. rubio will then head to anderson for a rally in the afternoon. and then he will also partipcate in the conservative review's conserative convention in greenville. 3 it was just two days ago that governor haley said she wasn't sure whether or not she'd endorse any of the gop candidates for president. but that changed yesterday when haley endorsed senator marco rubio in chapin.haley's endorsement could be pivotal

and killing a teen in kershaw county over the weekend will not know his bond for a few more days. jimmy methe was in court yesterday for a bond hearing. methe... is facing manslaughter charges for shooting and killing 17 year old brandon spencer when he found him breaking into his truck over the weekend. community members filled half the courtroom in support of methe... and in a rare move... sheriff jim matthews spoke on methe's behalf.. 3 i don't want what i am going to say here in anyway condone what mr methe did or encourage other people to do as he did in a similar situation however i have known him for some time what these people have said about him i concur with i do not believe he is a flight risk. i do not believe he is a danger to the community i would not oppose a low bond or a personal recongizance bond. 3 judge casey manning says he will weigh the testimony in court and have his decision on

3 state d-s-s leaders told senators that their turnover rate has dropped more than 10 percent since 2014...and have hired 170 new case worker positions thus far. but despite those numbers, they are still struggling with meeting their desired ratio of one case worker for every 24 children. there are only 7 of the 46 counties where 100 percent of the workers are meeting that desired ratio. 73 case workers in the state still have more than a 50-children case load. senator joel lourie of richland county said while the agency has improved, there is still

3 this morning...the highway patrol continues to investigating an accident involving two law enforcement vehicles.we're told...two lexington sheriffs vehicles hit each other around 9 oclock last night as they were repsonding to a burglary in process. it happened on platt

orangeburg road...just past the walmart and lowes.3 deputies were taken to the hospital but are expected to be ok. there's no word on what led to the accident. 3 a late night fire left two elderly people homeless. it happened just before 7:30 near the intersection of redwood court and carlton drive ... that's just off of highway 277. the fire crew say when they got to house it was fully involved.the couple was rescued and taken to the hospital as a precaution. an investigation into that fire is underway but right now fire officals say they're not
