campaign of spreading misleading information suggesting that ben carson was dropping out of the race after the iowa caucuses. abc news obtained the voice mail left by cruz's campaign on caucus night. >> hello, this is the cruz campaign with breaking news. dr. ben carson will be planning to suspend his campaign following the caucus. please inform any carson caucusgoers of this news and urge them to support cruz instead. >> cruz denies any wrongdoing. cruz now trailing marco rubio in a new new hampshire poll. the florida senator now in second place behind trump. >> that's just the overflow crowd. >> yeah, it's just the overflow. >> they couldn't get them all in. >> they couldn't get them all in. we got to get a bigger room. >> of course, rubio and cruz will flank donald trump tomorrow night. >> yes, also on the stage at the abc news debate in new hampshire, kasich, bush, carson and christie will be right here on abc moderated by david muir and martha raddatz tomorrow saturday night 8:00 eastern, 7:00 central.
of course, the other big news story this morning, a winter storm that is set to snarl commutes in the northeast and air travel nationwide. >> take a look at this shot. it's the storm arriving. you can see a little bit of flakes just outside our studio here in manhattan. the new coastal storm will bring snow accumulations from washington, d.c. to boston ranging from 1 to 8 inches. >> and boston is expected to get the worst, as you mentioned, 4 to 8 inches where schools are already closed today, the latest weather radar shows that storm system marching up the east coast at this hour, but it'll be quick, expected to be history by as soon as this afternoon. well, as concerns grow over the zika virus here at home, health officials in brazil say at least two cases were contracted through blood transfusions. with 12 of the 50 plus u.s. cases in florida, the governor there expanded the state of emergency to a fifth county and asking the cdc for a thousand kits to test for zika antibodies in pregnant women who may be at risk. there's evidence high
about a spike in legionnaires' disease in flint much sooner. the disease may have been linked to the contamination of the city's water supply. the governor said last month he had just learned of the connection, but e-mails obtained by the associated press show state agencies and high ranking members of his administration knew about it ten months earlier. a mass exodus is under way in syria as u.s. backed rebels lose their hold of a key province. tens of thousands of syrians are fleeing the city of aleppo after days of air strikes from government forces supported by russia. and they're heading toward turkey. on thursday world leaders pledged more than $10 billion to help fund school, shelters and jobs for syrian refugees. back here at home there was a little bit of fun at the white house as president obama welcomed the nba champions, the
