but ahead in nearly every state on super tuesday. here's jonathan karl with the new fight playing out tonight. >> reporter: his biggest endorsement yet. chris christie. >> i can guarantee you the one person that hillary and bill clinton do not want to see on the stage come next september is donald trump. they know how to run the standard political playbook against junior senators and run them around the block. they do not know the playbook with donald trump because he is rewriting the playbook. >> reporter: christie is also the guy who pummeled marco rubio in the abc news new hampshire debate and today he called rubio's new tough tone desperate. >> desperate people in campaigns do desperate things, flailing punches in the last days of a losing campaign. there is no better fighter than donald trump. >> reporter: but it sure looked like rubio had trump on the ropes last night, mocking him for repeating simple talking points on health care.

the terror at the factory, three killed, more than a dozen hurt. and that could have been much higher if not for a hero police officer, the first on the scene. here's clayton sandell. >> reporter: in this clip posted to facebook last september, 38-year-old cedric ford is firing an ak-style rifle. the same type sources say he used to gun down his co-workers late yesterday at this kansas lawnmower factory. it began at 4:57 p.m. police getting calls about a gunman randomly shootibg a driver in the shoulder. not far away, shooting another, stealing his car. by 5:04 p.m. he is pulling onto the excel lot six miles away, shooting one person outside. inside, fourteen more. >> people are getting pushed, trampled. it was just, everyone was trying to get out of the shooting, >> reporter: three excel employees are killed.

and josh higbee. at 5:06, the first help arrives. schroeder, racing inside to confront ford in a one-on-one gun battle. by 5:24, the shootout is over. ford is dead. his boss did saved a lot of lives. >> if there's gunfire, we go to the gunfire. if you're by yourself, you're by yourself. >> reporter: run towards the gunfire? >> reporter: police say just 90 minutes before the rampage, ford was served at work with a court ex-girlfriend who alleges he was violently abusive. she wrote, "he is in desperate need of medical and psychological help." >> reporter: today, the president made yet another call >> the real tragedy is the degree to which this has become

>> reporter: night -- right now, the factory is still shut down for the investigation. and saying the police chief is a hero. >> clayton, thank you. now to breaking developments overseas tonight. a cease fire in syria, brokered by the u.s. and russia, taking effect just a short time ago. but a fierce round of air strikes in the hours before. alex marquardt, from damascus. >> reporter: bombs pounded rebel areas today, just hours before the ceasefire agreement went into effect. here in syria, there is little hope it will succeed. are you optimistic? >> not really. >> reporter: everyone agrees isis and al qaeda will still be targets for all sides. but here's the problem. the syrian regime and their russian backers see almost all

invasion of privacy brought by erin andrews. suing a stalker and the hotel who booked him in a room next to hers. the video seen nearly 17 million times. here's linsey davis. >> reporter: all eyes will be on erin andrews monday as the sportscaster and "dancing with the stars" co-host is expected to take the witness stand in her $75 million civil trial against a nashville marriott hotel. her testimony comes after the videos at the center of this case were played for the jury. videos taken by her stalker, michael david barrett, who used his cell phone to record her in her hotel room while she was changing through an altered peephole. an emotional andrews left the courtroom as jurors watched the video, which is estimated to have been viewed nearly 17 million times. >> i know of no way to get it off. and doing continued research,
