>> and welcome pack to a consumer alert tonight about something you probably have in your kitchen and it might have you re-thinking your morning routine. yep, we're talking about your coffeemaker. a new study claims that drip tray is packed with bacteria. researchers tested 10 different machines and they found a higher germ count than in your bathroom. experts recommend cleaning your drip tray after each use. good idea. and would you ask your date about their credit scores? a new study says they could be a

romance will succeed or fail. researchers at the federal reserve found that people with higher credit scores were more likely to stay together. couples with the lowest initial credit scores and couples with very different credit scores were much more likely to break up. researchers think that people who are disciplined about money may be more disciplined about maintaining relationships too. and you've been disciplined on that computer about the weather this week. >> i have. well, you know, it was so cold yesterday and today, and tonight. woar going to get warmer. this was one little cold spell and now it will be done by tomorrow morning. believe it or not, if you have to wait at the bus stop, it will be a little easier to take. the roof cam is telling us current conditions, 19 degrees, but a little of a breeze so it's still icy cold. your future view forecast has a
11:16 pm
one is tonight, light snow. mostly cloudy day coming our way for our monday. so this is what i did. i widened out future view to give you an idea. the majority of the weather tomorrow is to our south, and thankfully so. you can see it's represented in rain and heavy snow. it goes right up the eastern seaboard, and then look what happens. by tuesday morning, now the models indicate that we all could see greater cleveland included, some heavy snow come town monday night, down monday night into tuesday morning, so tuesday's community a little on the tricky side. wednesdays system is looking a little better, looks like it dives to the south, but i still left the snow in the forecast because you can see just a couple of hours and those models spit out some new information. so tonight, really no weather warnings to tell you about, but monday night, tomorrow, the watch boxes are out for hazardous driving conditions, 5 inches of snow.
11:17 pm
all over the system as it's going to slow people down come tuesday morning. so taking a live look right now, you can see the system that's coming through. we have a lot of dry air in place and this snow is going to try to push its way in. we always thought snow after about midnight through about 6:00 a.m. right now we're doing just fine. mainly clear skies -- or cloudy skies with some flurries around town, but for the most part, the drier air is winning out. in the snow total amounts not really a big deal, but this is what it looks like on future view. the cloudy skies as we go through sunday night. monday morning, 2:00 a.m., still looking fine. it's just during that morning commute time, of course, right? ill timed, that's for sure, but between by about 8:00 in the morning, it's basically done. at least the bulk of it. then we're left with a cloudy mopped. cloudy monday. as we start heading into monday night, here comes that system. it comes right up from the south. but now the models indicate heavy snow. this is tuesday at 3:00 a.m. giving you the idea that tuesday morning's commute is going to be very, very tricky, especially if
11:18 pm
the temperatures are going to be low enough that it is going to come down as heavy snow into the low 30s, upper 20s, so just be a little on the heads up side. the next couple of morning commutes could be a little tricky. how much snow are we talking for tomorrow morning? most likely less than an inch for everybody but a couple spots could top out at an inch or a little more. hour by hour, the coldest time is now, we're going to start on the increase. you'll see a little sunshine when the snow gets out but just a touch. you might want to keep your sunglasses handy, but we will top out in the mid 30s tomorrow. so much better than the 18 we saw today, that never even really felt like eap. so overnight lows, 124 degrees. 24 degrees, 36 overall for tomorrow. we have a chance for flurries throughout the day, not really a big weather maker, monday night into tuesday morning. three days of just kind of
11:19 pm
download that weather app. thursday we straighten it out for you, lydia. it gets a little better, gets gorgeous on friday, 52. rain showers come in friday night, a good looking weekend ahead so something to look forward to. >> thank you, beth. straight ahead in sports, the nba all-star game is over. mark will show you who won and tell you how lebron did.
11:20 pm
11:22 pm
11:23 pm
>> the nba all-star game is over, it was your usual display of no defense whatsoever. which led to buckets of buckets from guys who are good at getting buckets. one of them, a kid from akron. >> he's a two-time mvp of this event. and a two-time nba champion. from the cleveland cavaliers, lebron james! >> only cav there. the big intro for lbj, got involved in the offense early. look at that alley-oop to dwyane wade. very nice. that tied the game early. lots of points in this one. russell westbrook, the mvp of last year's game, he won it effort. here's a little defense from lebron. a rare missed jump shot in this game. wasn't many of those. it was tight tonight. he poured in 41 points, but the
11:24 pm
they won it 196-173. >> i'm happy to be here, man. toronto has been great, all the guys have been great, happy to be a part of kobe's last game, just an honor to win the game. >> lebron played okay, didn't have a huge night. 13 shooting. his problem was he didn't make his 3s. only one of five from downtown. he grabbed four rebounds and had seven assists in 20 minutes. he did turn it over four times. kobe's all-star finale is over, and i'm shocked. the west won, he didn't get the mvp, didn't because he didn't have a big game. that's what i'm shocked about. with youbut he still got a big welcome. >> nba champion with the los angeles lakers, kobe bryant! >> after the fireworks, the light show, he settled in, played some ball. he scored only 10 points on four of 11 shooting.
11:25 pm
dished seven assists. i would have thought they would have made kobe have a huge night. coming up in minutes, the sports zone with tony zarrella, you're going to talk with bud shaw and the guys to cover the the week end sports, there's always plenty to talk about in cleveland, ohio. the pebble beach pro-am, taylor got the birdie to go, put him at 17 under, then he had to hold on, because phil mickelson in hot pursuit. long birdie putt on 17 that got him to 16 under par. needed to birdie the 18th hole, unfortunately for him, he didn't do it. i hate it when they lip and roll off. taylor won it at 17 under. it's a lipper, lydia. chase elliott made history today at daytona, became the youngest to ever win the poll position for the daytona 500.
11:26 pm
over 196 miles per hour to take the top spot. he'll also start the can am duals friday night in first place. so all-star game, in toronto, lebron did okay. those games are kind of -- well, the all-star game, honestly, well, it's kind of a boring exhibition to be honest with you. >> i hear that.
11:27 pm
11:29 pm
11:30 pm
>> so we're going to get a little bit of a warmup. >> we are, but we have to work all day for it. we have a couple little hiccups before we get to that. tomorrow morning, i had to go -- i kept asking mark, a half inch of snow, what kind of impact do you think that's going to have on the morning commute. none. one to 10 scale. when you get any sort of precip on the roadways, it will be warmer tomorrow morning when you get going and tomorrow itself will be into the mid 30s. mostly cloudy day coming a little breezy, but ford first alert weather days for monday, tuesday and wednesday, mostly because of the morning commute on tuesday, wednesday light snow, no big deal, but then look at thursday, friday, saturday, sunday. we're looking fantastic. the only chance comes in rain friday night. friday is lydia's pick day of the week. i'll take saturday because it's the weekend but we're into the 50s so we're el nino weather continues.
11:31 pm
president's day. there won't be any mail, banks closed. >> the cool weather word is precip. just remember that. >> precip. >> all right. thank you for watching cleveland 19 news. a dominic mancuso editorial is coming up next. just in case you didn't get your valentine's day love, here you 50, guys. ready? come on. muwah! happy valentine's day! >> dear fellow ohioans, for relative newcomers to our beautiful state, i have to tell you, getting your first set of ohio license plates is not fun. one, go to a bmv location, have them come out and read the vin number on your car. two, wait in line to get your title transferred, make sure you bring a file folder full of personal documents. three, get it inspected at any
11:32 pm
most cleveland area counties. four, return to the bmv. two-car family, begin again at step one. you and your spouse both on the title, you'd better both be there. or come armed with the power of attorney that's notarized. but while the process is complicated and tough to find guidance on the bmv website, most of the people i met along the way were very nice, despite all the stereotypical comments you hear about public employees. when i checked state rankings, ohio bmv topped one poll in customer satisfaction. that's because once you're in, life gets easy. you can renew your license plates or change your address online. no more multiple trips in lines. but could you at least make it a bit easier on the newbies? after all, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. i'm dom nin dominic mancuso, and that's how we see it.
11:33 pm
11:34 pm
>> we're going to have to change that open and but bud shaw's face up there as well. >> don't do that. you do want people to watch, don't you? >> it's great to have you. >> you too. >> we've got a lot to talk about tonight. of course it's all-star week end up in toronto, we'll be recapping the game in just a little bit. also talking about women making history in sports. fers we're going to talk about the browns, even though now almost a week has passed but i want to start with the michael silver allegations. he used the word lied twice. michael has been around a long time.
