us! and it's great to have central iowa's most accurate forecast with meterologist sam schreier! hey sam! sam: (sam adlibs) sam (sam adlibs) sam: weather adlib: we're coming off an extremely warm and gorgeous weekend and while we are going to cool back towards average this week, there is still plenty of warm weather worked into the forecast. today we'll start with mostly clear skies although clouds will be building through the day. it is going to fairly mild and and windy with highs climbing into the mid 50s. tonight we'll be cloudy with plenty of continued wind and temperatures falling into the upper 20s. rain will move into northern and central iowa early this evening and transition into a wintry mix and then snow by tomorrow morning. roughly 1/2 an inch of snow is expected but it is very unlikely much of it will stick around with ground temperatures being as warm as they

two spot this morning... a virginia police officer has died after responding to a shooting on her first day of ashley guidon police officers shot while responding to the call. found another woman dead, and began shooting at police. he now faces charges in both deaths. sabrina: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... sabrina: the staff of michigan's governor may have known something about the water problems in flint as far back as 20-14. recently released emails from governor rick snyders aides shows them discussing switching the city's water supply from the flint river to lake huron. his spokesman said those were preliminary concerns before the lead problem became an issue. elias: number four... elias: tomorrow will mark a big day in the presidential race, as both parties prepare for "super tuesday." the biggest day of competition aside from the actual election will feature caucuses and primaries in almost a dozen

sabrina: we have an update on last week's event to help the children's cancer connection. this morning we know how much money iowans helped raise... this is video from "camping the night away," a big fundraiser for children's cancer connection. the money raised helps pay for a free summer camp for kids with a cancerdiagnosis, and their families too! "1:28 what we really encourage them to do is maybe the things that their cancer and all the people around them have told them they can no longer do. so we've had children who've lost an arm or a leg on the climbing walls. there's no doubt andrew is a phenomanal wrestler - currently ranked number 1 at 149 lbs. but what would happen if someone without his talent, but still had a wrap sheet and wated to attend grand view as a student? university president, kent henning sent us this statement...sayin g in part that the school takes safety as a primary concern.....and assess if each individual poses any danger to the university community.. adding quote...."andrew was treated no differently from any other student, athlete or not." henning states the school determined long had resolved his past issues...but was admitted with appropriate restrictions... one of those restirctions is andrew is not allowed to live on campus. the iowa coalition against sex assault wants to remind
