>> say it again. >> it's f fday. feels good. i'm jacey birch. >> i'm eric yutzy. teorologist julie durda here setting you weekend. goodod morning, julie. start. you saw the miami tower cam moving around a little bit. ft. lauderdalal miami dealing with winds moving in off the ocean. don't worry. it's still comfortable tempererures are still in the upper 60s. morning. we have 62 for kendall.. 68 pompano beach. 68 in marathon and for you in pembroke pines waking up to 67 degrees. these temperatures are anywhere between two and nine degrees warmer than what we woke up to yesterday all thanks to a shift in the wind direction. i alwayss tell you from time to time the wind direction plays a huge part in our temperature and that's going to continue as we go into your friday and throughout the weekend. the kids w wl definitely need those sun glasses. that ocean breeze will bring us a mix of sun and clouds.

overall the atmosphere is relatively dry. i'll have more coming up. >> thank you, julie. hey, you guys, we have an accident on i-95 southbound on the approach to 395, the dolphin expressway. this is i-95 southbobod right here to the distance. i'm letting you guys take a look at all that red. it's never good for 6:01 in theorning. we're hearing possibly that exit ramp to the dolphin might be closed. i'm still working that confirm that. one thing you can see is obviously the's some heavy slowdowns so for anyone traveling into ami this morning, expect this stop and go traffic there. it looks like our delays are streting past towards the airport expressway. if there are some issues here, those speeds 38 miles per hour. again, as soon as i get any additional information on that, i'll be sure to update twitter and here live for you, you may want to take the airport expressway instead.

thewe've got another crash to get to, this one on-95 southbound and 135th street. now to a one and only exclusive, a small plane going down in a crowded neighborhood in the florida keys. the pilot was trying to land at the small airport in tavernaero when he crashed into a person's front yard. luckily no one was hurt. caught and cuffed, this man accused in a rash of robberies. he is behind bars this morning. alfredo garcia his name. erica rakow live in details. good morning, erica? >> good morning are eric. teenagers, gas stations, a subwayrestaurant, the list goes on of places police say this particular person robbed.

police say someo with an anonymous tip helped them with this investigation. the people he's accused of holding up so glad it hear s/meone is behind bars. that includes this 1 13-year-old boy said someon followed him to school in miami. you can see the man will you lunging at that teen. >> he just came, took my chain, threatened me with a gun. >>reporter: another robbery caught on camera and po\ice say garcia. it is at a valero gas park. store, threatened her and demanded she get down on the ground in spanish. now garcia is being held in jail without bond but in just a couple hours he will go before a judge here at the court house asking for bond to be released. police say it's a very

new video overnight. crews battling wild fires in northern oklahoma, near tulsa. they say gusty winds, dry conditions fueled the flames yesterday afternoon. the fires shut down highways and forcedd evacuations. many of the roads there have been reopened. people have been allowed to return to their homes. meanwhile over in missouri a grassfire spawned fiery twisters. the fire has destroyed

definitely going to be warmer.. there are some showers starting to develop over portions of the upper keys. more like a drizzle outoverall the worst of the weather staying well awaw from us. leading into the weekend. across the nation's midsection we've got a heat beef from texas to missouri. some of those showers and thunderstorm activities starting to ing relief from the heat. we have the 60s as far north as knappings. that's just as warm as we're feeling heren south florida. with high pressure continuing to push over the western atlantic, a mix of sun and clouds today. it will be windy and again we'll have the threat of rip current all day long so please use caution. high pressure will continue to push a bit more for the south. it won't be nearly as windy going into saturday and sunday but that means it will feel warmer..

be in the lower 80s. that's warmer than what we're going to see here in south florida so enjoy our weather. it's fabulous. finally feel like winter south florida style and temperatures will start to be in the 80s. ahead of a next front that will bring us a better chance of storms into tuesday and wednesday of the next workweek. some of the storms can be downright strong. >> thanks, julie. a traffic alert this morning for anyone who works on the beach or maybe they take their kiddos out there. that exit ramp to macarthur causeway 395 completely shut down after this vehicle flipped, upsight down, my goodness. these are live pictures you're seeing right now. looks like fire rescue crews left the scene a few minutes ago. obobously it's going to take some time to clear out the scene. the exit ramp to the macarthur causeway closed and because of those closures, it's causing delays on the i as well.

not heading to the beach. maybe you're trying to make the dolphin expressway. you're going to experience a lot of these heavy delays as you're heading into miami this morning. f you typically travel to the beach and macarthur causeway you're not going to get through this way. instead you're going to want to exit earlier at the julia tuttle causeway heading eastbound. also for our southbound drivers on the i, we're going to see a lot of stop and go traffic here. those delays stretching past the airport expressway. those speeds between and 22 miles per hour. if you normally take the dolphin expressway, i'm telling you exit a little bit earlier. take the airport expressway and head south on 27th avenue. one other thing to get to, a crash on i-95 southbound and 15th street and in broward county on the sawgrass expressway, that southbound exit ramp to 441 is closed. instead take the turnpike. the south beach wine

we return. outrage this morning surrounding a rare baby dolphin that died after it was plucked from the ocean a a then just brutally passed around by a crowd of beach-goers. this all happened on a beach i argentina and now people around the world are furious and they are demanding action. >> this video is very disturbing. it sws the rare dolphin being taken out of the water, brought on to the beach. that's where it's quickly swarmed by a huge crowd of people. >> it's listed as vulnerable. in case you're wondering what that is, it's one

on the i. obviously because a lot of folks heading into miami this morning. you see the sea of red there. a lot of folkstapping on their breaks because there are several delays in place. so again macarthur causeway exit shut down this morning because of that crash. if you typicallyly take that exit, you're going to want to exit earlier rightere at the julia tuttle causeway. we arere seeing heavy delays in place for anyone traveling on the i. those speeds between 30 to 10 miles per hour. so would recommend, hey, if you normally take the dolphin expresswa_ i would just exit earlier, take the airport expressway. it does look like those delays are stretching past 79th street. you're talking about three miles of delays right there on the i due to that accident scene. okeechobee road non-at the airport expressway we have a crash the, those speeds 10 to 20 miles an hour.

traveled to tavernaero after a plane crashed near an airport. >> she spoke to local 10 news reporter derek shore. >>reporter: a huge crash but never did carol imagine her quiet night with friend had just been interrupted by plane crashing into her yard. >> we just all looked at each other like what happened. i looked over the edge and there was the tail of a plane in my front yard. >>reporter: the monroe sheriff's office says the pilot w o miraculously survived was attempting to land at the nearb tavernaero airport of obviously something went wrong. looking at the map you can see just how many homes are in the area and how lucky it is the aircraft did not slam right into someone's roof. thth neighbor saw the plane fly by very low and then come back as if the pilot was confused. >> the next thing we heard, he turned around

his wing hithe mailbox over there and the basketball net. next thing we know, we looked around and went right into the house. >>reporter: passersby and fire crews helped free the man hanging upside down but was uninjured. the next step will be to figure out why the pilot said to be from north carolina missed the runway and the next step for carol will be to figure out what to do with her small s.u.v. badly damaged by the plane's impact. >> it's totaled i think. in tavernaero, derek shore, local 10 news. a man accused in a rash of robberies, this man say he is responsible for this scene right here, a 13-year-old robbing him outside of his school and the attack did not stop there. erica rakow has more. >>reporter: teenagers, gas stations a subway restaurant the list goes on of places this particular person so responsible for robbing.

>> he should learn from what he did. >>reporter: those who were held up this morning say they were glad somebody is behind bars. policeestimony us somebody called in with an anonymous tip helping them out with this investigation. for now garcia is being bond. in just about an hour or so he will be asking for a bond to be released. from miami, erica rakow, local 10 news. now to a battle for the badge after accusations of racism m the ft. lauderdale poce force, an officer fired for when i alleged involvement is fighting to get his job back. today is expected to be a crucial part of his hearings. sanela sabovic is live in ft. lauderdale to explain why. sanela? >>reporter: good morning, jacey. that fired officer is expected to testify during today's hearing but during yesterday's arbitration hearing he faced his former boss, ft. lauderdale police chief who said he was shocked when he saw the

text messages and said he's never seen anything like that i know his 30 plus year career. > ft. lauderdale cop is fighting to get his job back. day two of his arbitration hearing had him sitting face to face with his former boss, frank a aderly. taking part in a racist video. >> what would that do to that i >>reporter: those are some of the messages shared between several police officers. during the hearing chief adderly made it clear this was an apartment and some of the worst he's seen on the job. >> i've never seen this before in the 35 plus years that i've been here. i've never seen an engagement with the community and the response that we've had national attention.

making an odd noise right there as it hit the water. >> thank god it didn't hit on shore. it would have hurt a lot of people. >> very scary, very scar >> several people nearby dove into the water to help pull the people out to safety. they are stable but no word yet on how the others are doing. the crash still under investigation. also caught on camera, a train in houston nearly slamming right into the back of bus that was full of high school students. this is incredible cell phone video taken as the students were on their way home. look how close that train is to that bus, just inches away. after the incident the bus driver brought the bus back to school saying the students were so loud the bus could not be driven safely. new this morning a owing problem on florida's highways. wrong way craes. the deadly collisions responsible for more than 100 deas last year.

of the morning, you guys. i-95 is a mess after this bad wreck at the exit ramp for the macarthur causeway. that's 395. that vehicle upside down. at least one person taken to the hospital this morning. so anyone trying to head to miami beach you're not going to get there on 395. you're going to have to exit off at the julia tuttle causeway. anyone trying to get to the dolphin expressway, guess what. this is what it looks like. a sea of red. let me quickly check with our real time data. we can know how fast folks are traveling. 10 to 12 miles per hour. so a few things here. if you typically take the dolphin expressway, you may want to exit earlier at the airport expressway to travel west. anyone normally taking the macarthur causeway, take the julia tuttle, i-95 drivers, there's a few options here. of course 441, u.s.-1, maybe the turnpike but i would just recommend exiting just a little bit earlier at the

miles. four miles of delays past 79th street this morning. yikes. hopefully they will clear that up soon. okeechobee northbound an earlier crash here off the expressway. a little fender-bender there. one crash off of 55 just past the exit for southwest 136th street or avenue, i should say. those speeds at 47 7iles per hour. glu can't blame t weather for these accidents because it's gorgeous out there. granted we do have a little bit of cloud cover. it feels nice out there, it's mild. temperatures warmer than yesterday but that's okay at 67 degrees in miami with a rative humidity at 57%. the one thing you're going to notice today is the breeze like just ahead. at breeze is elevating that risk of rip currents for you boaters. a little bit of cloud cover in the distance in ft. lauderdale. temperature of 68

breeze at 1 1miles per hour. down by the keys we're seeing mostly clear sky was a northeast breeze anywhere between 10 to 15 miles per hour. overall looking great as you head out the door this morning. we are expecting these temperatures to stay above average throughout the morning. by the afternoon we'll start to get into the average low of the upppp 70s. we have temperatures this morning anywhere between 2 and 11 degrees warmer than yesterday you can see the cloud cover on the satellite and radar. that satallite showing those clouds that are going to push in off that ocean beze. rare chance for precipitation today thanks to high pressure, our dominant weather feature across the carolina coastline keeping us mostly dry with a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast today and leading into thee weekend. as we take a look at what's going on across the nation. we do have a warmup across texas and oklahoma ahead of another front that's bringing more showers and storms for the dakotas and great lakes. another system will bring them rain seven
