time. let's get you ready for what's in store weather wise with david murphy and karen rogers. >> reporter: we're starting out with precipitation off the coast. it's a large system as you can see is centered well off the coast. it will be close enough to wrap into portions of the eastern region and parts of the jersey shore. that's happening as we speak. between now and 9:00 a.m., as we expect wrap around precipitation that will cause cool air aloft that will make it a wet snow event. we'll have very small accumulations and mainly on grassy surfaces. there's a winter storm watch that kicks in late tonight and into tuesday night in the southern portion of the region where a second system on the coast has a better chance of putting snow in during the day tomorrow and starting late
tonight. that could give us more significant accumulation across the region. in addition the coastal flood watch because of the coastal system producing winds today and tomorrow. will produce minor coastal flooding today and toant. we tonight. 48 degrees in philadelphia. under mainly cloudy skies it's getting rather blustery out there. we expect the wind to be a part of the package. we'll get up to average highs. 41 degrees by noon. 3:00 p.m., 43 degrees, a couple of sprinkles or snow showers are possible this afternoon. i think the more significant snow is late tonight and in the through the day tomorrow. we'll talk about expected snowfall amounts a little variation on the models, all that is coming up. we'll enjoy our dry morning commute. this is the schuylkill expressway approaching the
curve. you can see this vehicle in a dark spot. it's off to the side, but watch for that. all the lanes are open on the schuylkill expressway westbound. people are moving okay. i-95 southbound traffic heading toward center city, light volume, no overnight construction all lanes open, you're looking good. we have another disabled vehicle i-95 southbound near the airport, southwest philadelphia, all lanes are open, watch for that. 55 miles per hour. people moving just fine. overall on the blue route, schuylkill expressway, i-95 on the big picture you can see the big speeds. don't forget in east falls, the falls bridge is closed. in addition you have money meant road closed between ford and bell meant two construction projects causing headaches, matt and tam and that continues. in the next half-hour, breaking news out of the chester delaware county. scores of police officers are on the scene of what's to be a large investigation. the focus is a wrecked suv,
katherine scott is live along keystone road in chester on what is happening right now. >> reporter: matt and tam we are sorting this out and police have not said a whole lot about the investigation. i did speak to a family member, she said her brother was shot and injured. we don't know the severity of the injuries. she said her cousin was killed overnight. keystone road in chester, a number of vehicles, there was a shooting, it remains under investigation. police have not commented on the potential victims or the injuries. police were called here to the 1200 block of keystone around 2:00 a.m. the focus seems to be an suv that ended up crashed on the sidewalk. the family member we spoke to said the suv belonged to her cousin. the passenger door was open and police were checking inside the vehicle. i did listener to 're-- did listen to 'recording, sounds

torresdale hospital, the driver remained at the scene to talk to police. three boys are safe after falling into a frozen pond in pipersville bucks county. they were walking on the ice when it cracked beneath them. neighbors ran to help when they heard their screams. they pulled one boy out with a stick, orr climbed on a drain grate, but edwards couldn't, orr jumped back in the water to help his friend. i jumped back in and got his backpack off, and got his hand. >> reporter: divers used a raft to rescue the boys. they are doing well and learned a valuable lesson. temple's board of trustee will consider moving forward
with plans to built a football stadium on the campus. many voiced their objections to proposed 100 million-dollar stadium. the mayor hasssed reservations about a new stadium and said they should strike a better deal with lincoln financial field. we're going to get snow, how much are we going to get? >> reporter: we'll get light precipitation today. we have a coastal storm passing us right now. as we look outside everybody is dry with the precipitation falling always rain just off the coast for now. there you can see sky6 live hd, the other thing to note about this morning, every now and then the camera bounces around a little bit as the storm is
producing decent winds. 36 in the city. 36 in wilmington, 36 in trenton, 35 in allentown. up 40 in cape may. everybody up above freezing. there's that large system. as expected it's well off the coast, but it's such a large powerful storm we're getting a wind blowing in out of the northeast. you can see the radar is picking up northeast bands precipitation falling as rain, but shifting inland a little bit. as we look at future tracker, i think areas east of philadelphia are for a time going to get a little bit of precipitation. it will change over to wet snow as it encounters cooler air at the surface. this will be small accumulations, mainly wet snow, it will dance around trenton for a few hours and push off to the north an east. up in the lehigh valley, windy and chilly, 40 degrees, we're missing out on the morning snow. down the shore some of you will
see rain mixing with snow along the north coast especially atlantic city north maybe a couple of spots farther south. high of 40 and windy in the afternoon and dry. lots of clouds today in philadelphia. a little bit of morning snow south and east of the city as you just saw. an afternoon high of 43 degrees, maybe there's a pop-up sprinkle or flurry this afternoon. we have snow arriving overnight tonight. there's a chance there's a chance of the snow showers build in later tonight and extending through the overnight hours. the question is what happens after that. this model has on and off snow showers in the morning, but there are others pushing for a bit more. i'll bump our forecast snow, this is the most likely snow 2 to 4 inches in and around most of the region with less at the shore and more north and west. there's a brand new run of the north american model that is calling for seven inches through

state parkway. all lanes are back open, southbound at 5:75 pomona that exit. this is an area we have rain off the coast temperatures drop we'll see if we get snow showers along the coastline right now. at this point you're looking good. let's check with the commuter traffic report coming in from haverford, you can see a nice easy ride on the schuylkill expressway. 25 minutes, good to go so far. let's check the temperatures, 33 degrees in quakertown, 35 in coatsville, 38 in center city. so we've got a chilly start, 36 in browns mills. 38 degrees in dover, delaware, tam. thank you, karen. police in north jersey are investigating a disturbing viral video showing a teenager punching out an unsuspected older man. the video has surfaced on social media site. a girl can be heard screaming don't do it. while another person knock him out, and he does.
police arrested the teenager who they say filmed the assault, but they are out there looking for the 17-year-old suspect. baltimore police say a fan is facing charges after he hit a woman with van while trying to to get away from the fight. the man crashed into several cars and backed up to the sidewalk and ran over a woman. the man left the scene. baltimore police arrested orlando redd. a police officer fatally shot a mentally i will college student and next-door neighbor who was a bystander. the officer is suing the dead teen's family for $10 million, he claims the killings gave him extreme emotional trauma. he shot the teen 6 times back in
