good morning everyone, 6:00 a.m., monday, february 8. we're following breaking news. detectives sorting out the details of a deadly shooting in delaware county. more snow along with waves of colder air on tap for this week, it could cause minor coastal flught. we're live in "action news." peyton manning gives the denver broncos the vince lombardi trophy. let's go over to david murphy and karen. >> reporter: we have a coastal storm that's well off the coast where the band of precipitation is close enough where it's beginning to wrap in close to the coast. it will clip atlantic city,
roads will be wet from atlantic city to trenton, not a big impact, but that's something to watch especially up to 9:00, 10:00. the second system comes in later tonight into tuesday night. this is has a winter storm watch in effect. it looks like we're watching fairly minor to snowfall amounts. i know i have one to three inches up in the corner, it might be 2 to 4 or perhaps more. this will graduate through the day with periods of it coming every now and then. hopefully it has a minor impact we'll see. coastal flood watch in effect, as we've been mentioning. minor flooding this morning and high tide tonight because of the onshore flow we're getting from the passing coastal storm. 38 degrees early on. 39 at the shore, we roll through the day, we'll get into the 40es this afternoon and wind
up up close to the average high. we'll see lots of clouds and it will be windy and cool. tomorrow projected snowfall amounts coming up in accuweather. >> reporter: as you head out, you can enjoy a good morning commute. i-95 southbound at the airport, watch for that, the guy has been out here on the schuylkill expressway westbound at the conshohocken curve, he doesn't have any flashers on, it's a dark spot so be careful of that with no flash be lights. disabled vehicle cleared 422 eastbound approaching 724 looking better now, all lanes open. let's take a fly on the northeast extension starting near lansdale speeds 60 miles per hour no overnight construction all lanes open. good to go on the northeast
extension. northbound traffic at creek road we're talking about snow showers coming in, i don't think they will hit this busy area near creek road. it will be closer to the coast, so you'll be good to go here on 42. we begin with breaking news coming out of the chester, delaware county. a large number of police are at the scene. they are not saying about what's going on, but family members are saying this may be a police-involved incident. katherine scott is sorting out details live at the scene keystone road in chester. >> reporter: matt and tam, we did reach out to police and other officials in the county and so far we have not heard back from them, but family members of the two people who were shot say that this was a police-involved shooting. i spoke to a woman who said it was her brother and cousin who were shot here on the 1200 block of keystone road in chester. it was at her cousin's vehicle
involved in the incident. her brother was shot and injured her cousin was shot a dozen times and killed. the woman said she received a phone call from her brother at 2:00 a.m. and stayed on the phone for 25 minutes. she said her brother and cousin were in the suv driving getting off i-95 when an officer put on sirens she said eventually started shooting. she said she stayed on the phone with him. her brother said he was afraid to be killed if he got out of the car. i did listen to a recording sounded like dozens of shots were fired. she said chef went to the hospital to find out how her brother was but her mother was denied entry during the on going investigation. right now i'm hurt, hurt that the fact my children got killed my son is in the hospital, i don't know what's going on, i don't know nothing.
and back here live on the scene, delaware county cid is on the scene it does look like investigators are focusing around an suv that is parked on the sidewalk looks like it might have crashed and came to rest up organ the sidewalk. we're awaiting comment from the police in chester. live in chester, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." we could learn more about the person killed in the accident in the somerton section of philadelphia. a pedestrian was struck and killed in busle ton last last n. the driver remained at the scene to talk with police. three boys are safe after they fell through a frozen pond in chalfonte in bucks county piper place off highland drive. 12-year-old and 13-year-old and
12-year-old boys were walking on the ice when it cracked beneath them. david bennett ran to help, bipulled a one out with a stick, orr climbed on the drain grate, but the other couldn't. i got his hand and got his backpack off and put him on and he was like, he instantly thanked me because he is polite. drivers from the chalfonte volunteer fire department used a rafter to rescue the boys. orr is doing well and learned a valuable lesson. chipotle is closing the doors to customers at one of the busiest times of the day, maribel aber is telling us why. every chipotle restaurant is closing for four hours for a company wide food safety meeting with employs. the e. coli outbreak is over and

>> reporter: a little bit of ofn issue this morning. we're dry, but there's a coastal storm off the coast that's pushing precipitation in toward surf city. i'll show you how that may wrap into parts of the region and give us wet snow later on. as with take a look outside we have cloudy skies overhead that includes above the platt bridge. the bridge itself is dry. hold on to the steering wheel because we have winds in the 20s and 30s. 37 in wilmington, 34 in allentown. 36 in trenton. 39 down the pike in cape may. there's the coastal system rotating well off the coast, but large enough to push noticeable wind in off the ocean and pushing that precipitation in as well. we take a look at future tracker 6 between now up until 9:00 there's a chance as the system pulls away from us, some precipitation wraps in. it's cool enough aloft that this
could change into snow, warm enough at the gunned maybe slushy, brief -- at the ground where it maybe slushy, but it's brief wet snow. in the lehigh valley, late day flurry, morning rain and snow in the shore communities around atlantic city an points north twr there. 43 degrees lots of clouds and dry this afternoon. in philadelphia, lots of clouds, snow south and east of the city. wind out of the northeast gusting to 30 miles per hour today, so it will be a blustery day. later tonight, snow will pull in. it will not be a big thump of it all at once, but there will be snow showers building in overnight. 31 is the overnight low, there could be a build up slippery
conditions on roads. as we take a look at this evening, on future tracker 6 there's the bobility that -- possibility that snow showers push into parts of the region. the question is watches after that. it does look like this is a non-stop snow, but at times we'll have periods of snow shower activities popping through and period of steadier rain. i think what we should plan for into tomorrow night is 2 to 4-inch snowfall across the region, much less down the shore and more to the north and west. having said that there are recent model runs that are pushing for a little bit more. 7.1 inches on the north american and gfs came in a half-hour ago that bumps us up to 5. other models don't have much at all. this is an indication how weak the storm system is.
we should plan for this. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 43 is the high, clouds and snow south and east of philadelphia for a brief period this morning. periods of snow buildings in this evening, overnight and in through tuesday, 39 degrees is the high. it may not wrap up until tuesday night. 39 degrees on wednesday, flurry around. brisk and colder on thursday, high of 34. flurry or snow shower can't be ruled out. by friday we're down to 32. the coming weekend we get a two day shot with temperatures in the 20s before we dig out on monday, of course that makes valentine's day sunday a day for snuggling. i love you you're warm. people will be taking that advice, too. 6:11. up next, more stories you didn't see last night, including a desperate getaway attempt that left a person hurt.

i-95 southbound a disabled vehicle on the shoulder. 206 construction blocks the lane until 3:30 p.m. look for that. we've been talking about in south jersey along the coastline, south and east near trenton you may get snow showers pulling in later. we're dry through the region. 38 in philadelphia. 39 at the airport. 34 degrees currently in allentown. it's later tonight that the snow showers start to affect the region through tomorrow with intermittent snow, tam. baltimore police say a man is facing charges after he hit a woman with his van while trying to getaway from a fight. he was trying to getaway from people who were pounding on his van. he plows into several cars and backs up on the sidewalk and ran over the woman. it goes forward and leaves the scene. baltimore police arrested

a hometown kicker helps lead the wrong coast to a victory -- broncos to a victory in super bowl 50. let's go outside to david murphy and karen rogers has traffic. >> reporter: good morning, everyone, bundle up, it's windy and chilly. we have a coastal storm that's well off the coast, but it's pushing precipitation closer to the shore and we have the changeover to snow you mean by new york and long island. as we look at future tracker 6 there's a chance we see that wrapping toward the coast. the new model run has it staying to the east of the area coming into lakehurst. earlier it was looking like it would come into trenton and atlantic city. if we see it it will be wet snow and very brief and it sort of takes off to the northeast. second storm system comes in later tonight and into tuesday and tuesday night. there's a wairnt -- winter storm
watch in effect for this one. we'll see the most snow in the lehigh valley, there won't be as much. when we come inside we'll talk about accumulations. that's periods of on and off snow tonight and tuesday and not ending until tuesday night. coastal flood watch in effect for minor tidal flooding tonight. 38 degrees in philadelphia. windy, as i mentioned under cloudy skies. karen when i step inside we'll get up to 43 and remaining blustery and we'll show you snowfall totals for storm. >> reporter: we're dry through the region, but a couple of accidents, 202 southbound king of prussia, right at the schuylkill expressway we've got an accident in the process of clearing. penndot on the scene with this. as you head toward malvern you'll see this on the right-hand side. delaware county, a new accident on i-95 approaching highland
avenue, this is northbound as you head toward the blue route. you see police and penndot on the scene on the left side with the accident here. let's switch to i-95 approaching cottman, kind of getting busy. here's the southbound traffic heading toward center city, heavy from past academy to cottman, and girard, we're looking at a 19 minute ride from woodhaven to the vine. we have a disabled vehicle on the schuylkill expressway westbound approaching the curve. it's off to the side, but kind of in a dark spot watch for that as you head on the schuylkill expressway westbound. you can see how i busy it is on the eastbound jamming to the curve. we have a large police investigation in delaware, family members are saying it's a deadly event and it's police involved. let's go over to katherine scott live on the 100 block of
keystone road with what she learned so far. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam we have reached out to law enfor forcement and we approached investigators on the scene, but they are not commenting on what happened this morning. we spoke to several family members, who say two people were shot and one died. investigators remain on the scene of the 1200 block of keystone road in chester. family members say a 23-year-old man was shot and killed, the cousin, the woman was the sister of the 23-year-old man. the cousin was shot a dozen times and killed. investigators on the scene, while they have not commented they have laid out dozens of evidence markers. up ahead there's an suv on the sidewalk that investigators are focusing on. the woman said her 23-year-old brother called her around 2:00 a.m. brother and cousin were in the suv driving getting off i-95.
she said she stayed on the phone with him for 25 minutes her brother was afraid he would be killed if he got out of the car. they called me as soon as they got off the highway. i'm on the phone the whole way in order to find out their location them being shot at where led me here. they said where they are. i come down 11th street and i had to park, i1st street. i had to run all the way up hoar, i seen my cousin was laid out, i didn't know where my brother was at. she said police were firing, i did listen to the recording where it sounded like dozens of shots were fired. her mother went to the hospital and was denied entry. investigators are on the scene
from chester police and delaware county. we're waiting comment is to what happened here this morning. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." new this morning, an out of control driver crashed into someone's garage. the damage was done on the 600 block of 34th street of mantua section before 1:00 a.m. crews pulled the driver before the wreckage no injuries were reported. parts of the jersey shore that were battered by the blizzard of 2016 are bracing for new threats of flooding. annie mccormick is live in atlantic city with more on the coastal concern. >> reporter: allalready in the t hour we have seen a difference, wind gusts are picking up at it is starting to rain. there's a coastal flood advisory in effect beginning early this morning. overnight therein heavy winds of this is video from the last big storm that we had. the reason why a coastal flood advisory is a concern a lot of people had flooding issues during the last storm. a costal flood watch is in
effect monday night into tuesday afternoon. light snow showers are expected this morning. now high tide is around 6:30 a.m. that could have an impact on flooding. this could impact roadway flooding especially during high tide times. it makes conditions for the possibility of minor tidal flooding. back out here live, officials the last time put a major amount of things in place to try to prevent the flooding on the roads that usually get it even during minor flooding times. since there's damage in these areas they will make efforts to make it better on the roads that saw damage two weeks ago. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." thank you, annie. tomorrow is the new hampshire primary. the democratic candidates are neck in neck. on the republican sides this could make it or break it for lagging campaigns. donald trump main tainls --

broncos kicker, montgomery county native brandon mcmannis, made a 33-yarder that followed the longest punt in super bowl history. he starred on temple university football team. good for brandon. good aim. >> reporter: all right, so, we're looking at a a little bit of wet snow possible to the east of philadelphia this morning, bigger issue comes later tonight and through tomorrow where periods of on and off snow may pile up a little bit more. the double scan imagery shows most of the precipitation is over the coast, it has the tendency to wrap in toward the shore. as we look outside we have cloudy skies across the majority of the region. there's center city on sky6 live hd. it's not only cloudy and cool, but on the windy side. so bundle up as you head outdoors. 38 degrees in philadelphia.
some suburbs a little chillier than that. the winds out of the northeast at 1 miles per hour that's giving you a windchill of 30. the windchills dropped in the 20s as the wind gust up a little. as we look at the wide view there's the first system well off the coast, it's close enough and strong enough where it is pushing wind in on the coast and precipitation, as well. again, as we look at future tracker 6, it looks like areas well east of philadelphia that will be threatened by this. areas close to trenton and will get wet snow. surface temperatures will be above freezing. there will be wet roads below. it won't last long, by noon to 1:00 p.m. it's pushing toward new york city. clouds and sun, otherwise, 37 by 8:00. 39 by 10:00 a.m. in the low 40s through noon and # p.m. up in the late afternoon when we are back town 38 degrees
by 35:00 p.m. high temperatures across the region, 40 in allentown. 44 in wilmington. 40 in cape may and atlantic city. future tracker 6 then picking up picture later on this evening, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. to midnight there could sprinkles down the shore perhaps snow showers beginning to build in. it's in the overnight hours and tomorrow morning we're expecting snow. you look at this model, it's not being very aggressive with this, it's keeping it to the west of us i think we'll see the snow. it will be gradual, though, a little bit here and there, and later on. by the time all is said and done, i'm thinking a good amount to plan for is 2 to 4 inches. we'll see wet roads out of this but like the last snowfall some roads could get slushy, so you want to be careful. this is not a major snow.
it will be less than 2 inches and less than that down the shore where rain mixes in. having said that there are models that are suggesting a little bit more. the north american model wants 7 inches and five on the gfs. it will be mainly wet snow it will come over a long period of time. so you don't get thumped a whole lot. either way, get your stuff done today because tomorrow could be iffy. clouds in the southeast today briefly and they take off. 43 is the high, under mainly cloudy skies. it will be windy today. tomorrow, periods of snow going through tomorrow and into tomorrow night. a general 2 to 4 inches is possible. some models suggesting more. 39 is the high. mostly cloudy with a flurry on wednesday, 39. after that colder air starts to move in. a snow shower possible at times on thursday, the big story is

welcome back taking a live look here, the commute in full swing getting going over the platt bridge. 6:45, 38 degrees, a couple of issues out there, let's turn to karen rogers. >> reporter: yeah, we are starting in delaware county with the camera on i-95 approaching highland avenue. you can see the accident we have police and penndot on the scene with this one, northbound on i-95. as you head toward the blue route watch for this does he want off to the left-hand side. not causing a terrible jam this morning. watch for that on i-95. on the schuylkill expressway as you head westbound approaching conshohocken we had a disabled vehicle all morning stuck on the shoulder. we're seeing westbound traffic slowing down, 28 minute between
the vine and the blue route. 25 minute ride eastbound jamming to the curve. you see the speeds on the schuylkill expressway. we showed you the delays 16 miles per hour westbound past the boulevard. don't forget the construction causing problems in the east falls, the falls bridge is closed until april 1. and monument road closed between ford and belmont. it's a morning for disabled vehicles we've had like four of them. this one in southwest philadelphia toward the airport off to the side. i've got an accident coming in this morning in gloucester county woodbury, gas borough road at -- glassboro road at chestnut avenue. storm tracker 6 live double scan we have rain showers that may lead to snow showers. it's off to the coast for the most part. rain showers creeping in surf city and seaside heights.
you're dry on the garden state parkway. if you're along the coastline in south jersey and originally looked like near trenton we would get the snow showers, but looks like much of this stays off the coast this morning. the snow that will be bothering the rest of the us will be later tonight and tomorrow. new this morning, a pittsburgh area high school student and his mother are speaking out because of video of him being violently assaulted is surfacing online. he was turning the corner in high school, another student kicked him in the chest. he was cerebral palsy, he suffers from seizures and the mother is grateful the kick didn't trigger a medical emergency. i cried because i was like wow how could kids be that cruel. i was hurt and embarrassed. >> reporter: the mom sees this as a teachable moment about bullying, she encourages people
