we'll have a live report from manchester. >> but first up we've got reporters spread out all over the tri-state region. take a look at that. >> yeah, you see them all there. first let's take a look at weather and traffic with mr. meteorologist dave murphy. >> all right, guys, here we go. we didn't get a whole lot of snow overnight and right now as you look at the wide view on radar there's a little bit of rain coming up from the south. there's also going to be a little bit of additional snow popping in later this morning and look at how broken a pattern we're looking at. the first round of snow overnight was only about a coating to a half inch in most places. and we're going to look at little hits of this continuing off and on through the day perhaps getting a little steadier late in the day and this evening. there's the wide view with cloud cover and obviously we're socked in by the clouds as well. that's what happened overnight by the way, just that little sweep and not a whole lot coming down from that. having said that, temperatures across the region are close to or below freezing from about i-95 north even down into parts of central south jersey. so, whilely treated roads, anything that was pretreated with brine last night certainly did okay in the coating to half inch scenario.
on sidewalks, side streets driveways you might have some problems where you weren't pretreated. slow it down if it looks like there's a 15 out there. winter weather advisory is now in effect until 6:00 a.m. wednesday morning. that's when all of this should be totally over and you can see how we he were in a warning situation earlier. we're now downgraded to an advisory because the snowfall amounts don't look they're going to be all that great. warning up in lancaster county and chester county where that might be a bullet where you get slightly more but generally speaking light snowfall amounts, about two to 4 inches on average a coastal flooding. new york's high tide could see minor to moderate flooding at the shore and the delaware bay. below freezing between six and 8 o'clock. perhaps a little light shower working way back in. cloudy skies of course and today will be a little bit breezy but here's the good thing. we are going get well above freezing. we'll see a high around 38 at 3 o'clock so if we do get more snow showers building in during the afternoon hours,
there should melt on road surfaces and just make the roads wet. the next issue will be later on this evening, karen, when we get more snow showers with dropping temperatures. i'll talk more about that coming up. >> all right, dave, you were right about the roads looking just a little bit wet, in fact drying out here on i-95 at academy road. that's your southbound traffic headed towards center city, moving just fine, no problems here. switching your camera view we'll show you what it looks like on 422 as we take a live look here and this is past oaks. we can see the snow in the grassy median, on the sides of the roads. not on the highway itself so traffic there moving just fine. how about chadds ford? we'll see what's going on on 202. this is right near baltimore pike and again roads a little bit damp out here. not showing any problem. you're going have to be careful a as you head out during the snow shower. it's going to be slippery. york road at county line road an early morning accident in hatboro has cleared. the current batch of precipitation is moving up through south jersey kind of coming up from the south at this point so be careful in
south jersey. on 295 it's just damp. we have 50 miles an hour speed restrictions other new jersey turnpike. on the atlantic city expressway they're out there now salting so slow it down with. that on the garden state parkway they had some speed restrictions where they were salting but they just lifted those because the crews have done their job, matt and tam. >> thank you karen. let's head over to erin o'hearn, she's live in roxborough, she's got a live report on what conditions look like there. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, well, mother nature is funny, isn't she? you never know what you're going g and right now is not a whole lot. roads are looking pretty good but of course as we always say it's better to be safe than sorry so penndot has been working hard since around midnight. we'll take a look at video of the preparations. they've been out for hours treating area roads with salt. 300 plows were out monitoring road conditions through the night and this morning. 106 tons of salt on hand. crews are expecting wetter snow which of course is easier to move. however, this morning may be okay but tomorrow could be
tough because temperatures are expected to drop overnight and you never know how those wet roads are going to turn into icy roads. it happens awfully quickly. now, it's important to note that today's trash and recycling pickup in philadelphia has been canceled in anticipation of today's and tomorrow's weather. residents are asked to hold it off until next tuesday. but however, no snow emergency has been declared which means parking is as normal. now, of course we're in roxborough. you can get -- it can get pretty tricky back out live but right now roads look pretty good and people have been salting the sidewalks and roads all morning so you should be in good shape. live in roxborough erin o'hearn channel6 "action news" back to you. >> katherine scott is live in ocean city, new jersey, and katherine some jersey shore communities are concerned about coastal flooding this morning. >> reporter: there is that concern of flooding. right now where we are in ocean city we're not seeing that a problem but we're keeping an eye on the flooding as it gets later and closer to high tide.
we're standing along west seventh street. you can see the street is clear at this point. it's a little muddy. there might have been some past flood water that is have since recede but there's no flood waters rider now. we're right by the bay. the lights you see behind me are from the bridge over the bay. today's winter storm and coastal flood warnings are in effect in areas of new jersey. let's go to margate where they had minor flooding along vendor nor avenue between coolidge and monroe. street flooding will be widespread at the shore. keep an eye at the rising water levels. minor to moderate flooding is expected. high tide is between 7:30 and 8:30. beach erosion could be significant. as far as the snow is concerned, it's going to get heavier at times. right now we're just seeing very, very very light snow here but as it gets later, it could get worse. there could be some heavy wind gusts, reduced visibility. it's a longer duration storm and it won't be snowing hard all the time so between the snow and the flooding, just

from today and it lacks like chester county might see another little guy pop up. down here a few wet snowflakes also in parts of mainly cumberland county at this point but this is also pushing toward the north and east. as we take a look outside we have cloudy skies and dry conditions across most of the region. there is on sky6 -- oh, yeah, that's the commodore barry bridge. i just got an e-mail the other day that we had reestablished that camera so with the union season coming up in another month or so we'll be down there in chester showing you the stadium. but in any event it is cloudy and in chester dry right now, but obviously on the cold side this morning and on some side streets and sidewalks maybe a little bit slick. we'll talk more about that in a moment. 32 degrees the freezin freezingk in philadelphia currently. winds about 10 miles an hour giving you a wind chill of 24. bundle up as you head out. future tracker6 from now up until 9 o'clock there could be a couple more snow showers. this is sort of what the model is doing with that snow that
we just showed you on radar down around baltimore. and again it will probably be some rain down at the shore. we move up to 3 o'clock and you can see that intermittently there will be more snow showers around. now the thing about this afternoon's snow showers is that we're going to get temperatures up into the played to upper 30's through most of the day, even up north and that means snow showers during thduring the day time haa chance of making roads just wet. you get a heavy enough snow showers it will put some slush down butter it doesn't look particularly bad. 6 o'clock temperatures will drop closer to the freezing mark. nipping that's still falling through the evening hours up until 11 o'clock and in the overnight hours that could give you a little bit of a freeze-up on the roads but we're not really looking at a whole lot of snow out of this. most areas only about two to 4 inches up to their north and down to the south one to two with even less along the coast where a lot of rain mixes in. there is a chance that in through chester county, lancaster county, maybe in through parts of delaware county we get up to four or a little more but generally
speaking this is a -- not a real high impact snow in you're going to get a little bit here, a little bit there, then a break and then a little bit more and i think that the biggest impact period will be later on tonight after temperatures dip. 31 degrees by 8 o'clock. anything that did fall overnight and it was only a coating to a half inch in most cases, if it fell on treated surfaces it is not a problem this morning. some sidewalks this morning, some side roads might be a little bit slick. by 10 o'clock we're up over freezing and up to 38 by 3 o'clock so any intermittent snow showers that fall in through the day not a real big problem. it will be more of an issue later on probably around dinnertime and beyond. high temperatures today in the meantime 36 degrees in allentown, 36 in trenton and down the shore 42. so, as i just mentioned we are looking at temperatures well above freezing through the afternoon. your seven-day from accuweather, 38 is your high in philadelphia today with periods of off and on snow. o lot of these snow showers will be light but if you're driving around unget a steadier one you want to slow it down because of visibility
issues and also just in case there's a little slushiness that develops other roadways. could see slick spots on roads tonight as that snow lingers on. by wednesday morning looks dry with just flurries around and then sun comes back and we're up to 40 degrees. maybe a little slick in spots on wednesday morning but the afternoon looks g after that the story of the week really becomes temperature. we drop to 31 on thursday with a snow shower around. 29 on friday. brisk and cold with perhaps a snow shower at night. then a little snow shower or flurry saturday morning but, oh, my, 24 is the high on saturday, 22 on sunday. overnight lows in the single digits which means when we get back to work on president's day monday, assuming you are working, you're going to wake up to temperatures down around the single digits to start out. but it does improve monday afternoon. >> and we're all working on monday. >> yes, we are. >> just so you know. >> yes. i knew. >> thanks, david. coming up our live team coverage of this all day winter storm continues. >> let's take a live look here. mobile6 is out there on south

what's going on, annie? >> reporter: hey, matt. take a look at what fairfax and different parts of delaware got overnight. just this light coating but it's pretty good. it's that powdery type of snow but not much at all. you're only going to see it on grassy areas. take a look at the road way here. this is a concorde pike part of 202. you can see as cars are starting to pass by now, there's really no problems at all with the roadways. there is moisture on them. however, they are not slick at this time. now, we do know deldot has been working overnight putting brining solution out on the roadways. we're seeing a lot of their vehicles actually just kind of patrolling this area to see in case any moisture comes along they are ready. they have a number of private contractors also on standby. but they're waiting to see when some of this moisture does come, what time it comes, if it could come during the morning commute they want to make sure that that commute is smooth for everyone. another thing we're also seeing is we're seeing a lot of cars that even if they only have a light coating of snow
they're not cleared completely. that's something officials want to make sure before you leave your house, it only takes a couple minutes just make sure you wipe all that off so your neighbor behind you on the roadway doesn't get hit with any snow. we're live in fairfax, annie mccormick channel6 "action news. >> that would be nice. all right. let's head on over to karen rogers now. she's got the late nest traffic. good morning. >> that's always good advice. clear off your car, warm it up and you'll need to scrape the windshield a little bit too. as we look at the roads annie was showing us-202 in delaware, this is 202 on the border of montgomery and bucks county at county line road. watching a car zoom by. no problems. just a little bit wet. you can see some of the light snowfall on the grassy surfaces. we got a good coating for the most part overnight. let's switch over to an accident we had. it has since cleared in hatboro. york road moving just fine. take it icy. hopping into new jersey this is what it looks like on 42. that's your northbound traffic here at creek road moving fine. 42 just a little bit damp at this point. they did a great job in treating the roads so even if
you get a snow shower it looks like for the most part it's been melting through the area. we have some flooding here but it has subsided. route 130 is now reopened at the brooklawn circle so better news. that would have caused a problem in camden county if it had stayed closed for awhile. i want to show you storm tracker6 live double scan. we see a snow shower out to the southwest basically dry but we can watch to our southern area and we're getting a little bit of mixed precipitation. you're seeing that in delaware along highway one near dover ann little snow shower near miles an hour nan fortescue a little bit of a mixed precipitation by the area of blue along route 47 and route 49 near tuckahoe. on the garden state parkway it's mostly some light sprinkles with a little bit of mixed precipitation. this is moving up from the south. you'll be seeing that impact other areas in south jersey. in the northwest we're looking at temperatures just in the 20's for the most part as we look in south jersey and delaware you can see you're at the freezing mark in some of these places like vineland and hammonton but a bit above that right along the coastline. matt and tam. >> thanks karen. new this morning a crash in philadelphia's port richmond section left three people injured including a
