the specifics are under seal but we know all defendants were bound by confidentiality clauses after cosby and constand settled a civil suit in 2005. the allentown police officer shot while serving a warrant last night is it out of the hospital and doing well. authorities say the initial case was related to the homicide investigation of the woman who was found stuck in a recycling bin just blocks away. officials say they now know who she is but are not naming her until her family can be told what happened. the shoot-out with the officer, he is in critical condition and the connection to the homicide, if any, not revealed. doctors are treating a 3-year-old boy struck by a hit-and-run driver tonight in the tacony section of philadelphia. and chopper 6 over the scene in the 6300 block of dittman street as the young victim was transported and as he arrived by

ambulance at the hospital for children. he is stable and expected to be ok. police have just released this description of the suspected striking vehicle, a dark green 1998 dodge conversion van with a lighter green stripe on the side. it was last seen heading west. temple university hospital engaged in some life-and-death education tonight. the students, potential first responders living in high-crime neighborhoods. and there is a young man, i didn't know what to do. a young man laying there and he is bleeding. had i known this, i might have been able to safe his life. >> the training she is referring to is "fighting chance." a new program by temple university hospital that teaches residents in high-crime areas how to provide basic first aid to gunshot victims. >> when they are standing by after somebody has been shot they can do something rather than just kind of stand there and be upset. >> residents again training on how to stop bleeding from a bullet to moving someone quickly and safely until help arrivals. 236 homicide last year from gun shots and in year there have been 144 shooting victims. >> and the exercises, are they helping? >> yes, yes. >> they are putting their training to use saying they recently aided an unresponsive man outside of the rec center. >> if you hadn't had that --

is the iphone of the san bernardino terrorist farooq. it is locked with a past code. and months later the f.b.i. still can't get past the security. and the federal judge ordered apple to help break into it. it is not just technology, apple is challenging the court ruling saying the company would essentially have to build a master key to unlock iphones and that would undermine security for hundreds of millions of user who have done nothing wrong. they say that is too dangerous to create and can get into the wrong hands including cyber criminals and foreign agent -- agencies. and president obama going to cuba as the u.s. and cuba continue to work toward normalizing relations. no official announcement has come yet that will likely happen tomorrow. the last and only sitting president to visit cuba is

calvin coolidge in 1928. the powerful image today of pope francis praying at the border between mexico and the united states. specifically el paso, texas. anti-immigration sentiment running high, the pope called on governments to open their hearts to what he called the human tragedy which is forced migration. last night the pope became visibly upset when people tugged on his sleeves and wouldn't let go. almost losing his balance the pope scolded the crowd admonishing them in spanish "don't be selfish." and a couple recovering in the jackpot one of three winners. they told no one they were holding the winning ticket. they even kept going to work as an engineer, but it hasn't been easy. >> i lost over 10 pounds.

do, called an appliance repair company. >> it is bad news, the motor. >> the technician from mr. appliance also noticed this and said -- >> you need a whole now top panel. >> $562 to fix that paying a $400 deposit, but they say the repairs never materialized. >> the part is not in. i called again. it is the holidays. now it is part not in. one thing is in, the other one is not. and then we had a snowstorm and the snow delayed everybody. >> after the yearly six months she demanded a refund. a few weeks later we went to mr. appliance to inquire about what the company promised her. >> she will get that, yes. we will get a certified check for her and then we'll just deliver it to her house if she is home. >> tomorrow? >> yeah. >> the customer service representative. >> we really did try to take care of this customer. >> you were trying to fix her

appliance? >> we absolutely were. >> complaints about appliance repair is not uncommon. there are a number of franchises and this has an f-rating at the better business bureau, something that they did not realize until we told her. >> an f? >> an f. >> tammy, the owner of the mr mr. appliance said she was unaware of the bbb process. they wanted money for me to increase my score. wall says she didn't have the money to pay and also tells me "we lost three technicians, we are working to correct some of the kinks." and speaking of them, good news less than 24 hours. >> i have a check, one i never thought i would get. >> a money order for the full $400. >> i am so glad.

tomorrow but temperatures on the way up for the weekend. double scan live radar out there right now, very little going on. we have some cloud cover out there, some stars, but there is a cold front approaching from the north and west. you see a little bit of gray around lancaster and reading. there could be a floating flurry around but overall a dry front is passing through. presently 29 in allentown. 31 in reading. millville 31 degrees and 32 the atlantic city city airport. and mount pocono 26. and satellite and radar, you can see how quickly the clouds have fallen apart. the front north and west. a lot of the precipitation falling apart and the best chance after snow shower is the poconos. for the rest of us it is a wind shift that comes in behind this front. the bus stop forecast tomorrow morning, layer up the kids. 27 to 28.

it doesn't sound bad 6:00 to 8:00 a.m. with the breeze out of the northwest the wind chills only in the 20's first thing despite the full sunshine. the sunshine in control into the afternoon tomorrow, but the breeze will continue. so with temperatures only in the upper 30's, going to throw that number away and kick it down some 10 degrees tomorrow afternoon as wind chills only stay in the upper 20's across the entire viewing area. high pressure sinks to the south and east on friday. friday is much like today, lots of clouds out there as the warm front approaches. a chill at 41 degrees, but then really pull in the southerly wind. and the warmth building in the deep south and the southern plains, moving our way. the weekend temps 10-15 degrees above afternoon. the forecast 38 and chilly tomorrow, lots of clouds on friday. and saturday, warm and windy but
