out to the west in chester county there's some areas where you briefly have some steadier rain but again this is fairly low impact nuisance precipitation. that's what we're going to be in for for the next few hours during the morning commute. but as we go later into the morning and into the afternoon some spotty heavier showers are probable and then later on in the evening hours some thunderstorms are going to roll in from the west and those could actually be gusty i think in general the ones will pick up late today and tonight. we have a dense fog advisory put out. most areas aren't that bad. dover is below a half mile visibility. you might have pockets of fog in through here as you come in over the next couple hours. temperatures right now are cool, 42 degrees in philadelphia. 36 degrees in allentown, 41 in wilmington, 48 degrees in wildwood. and as we head out into the drive way and to the bus stop this morning it looks like we'll be in the low 40's, mostly cloudy and damp out there as you just saw there are some showers around. moving through the day, temperatures are going to just keep rising. we'll be in the 40's in the morning spend the afternoon climbing through the 50's and
we expect to get a high of about 60. that will be later on in the evening hours, maybe as soon as dinnertime maybe a little bit later than that and of course the winds are an issue all day long. also there's a wind advisory. this kicks in at 6 o'clock in coastal counties up to midnight because gusts could go 50 miles per hour. if we get strong thunderstorms everybody could see as much as a 60 miles per hour gust from that. karen i'll track the rain with future tracker6 in a couple of minutes. >> all right, dave, let's look outside live right now and check i-95. the roads are a bit wet and it's damp out there. we expect that to cause problems later but we've got light volume. that's your southbound traffic headed towards center city and moving okay with no over extra night construction there. on the vine street expressway you can kind of get a hint of some of the low visibilities that dave talked about but not extremely so. that's your westbound traffic headed towards the schuylkill. eastbound moving okay. just slow it down with the wet roads. no overnight construction so that's helping us out there on the vine as well. checking the blue route approaching the schuylkill looking pretty good here. that's northbound traffic headed towards conshohocken.
coming up from springfield or upper darby expect those wet roads light rain coming down but no major issues just yet there. one accident we have and it sounds like a serious one in skippack township collegeville road at lywiski road. look for fire police and emergency workers all on the scene with, that matt. >> thanks karen. we begin with breaking news. rescuers have located the wreckage avenue small passenger plane that crashed in nepal. the plane took off from a resort town west of kathmandu heading north to a starting spot for a mountain hike. the flight was only supposed to last about 19 minutes. contact with the plane was lost about eight minutes after takeoff. officials confirm all 23 people on board were killed. it is unclear what caused the crash. >> a police officer in delaware county opened fire on a man after police say that man attacked the officer who was responding to a domestic dispute. "action news" reporter annie mccormick is live at the sharon mill police station. she fills us in on the very latest. good morning, annie. >> reporter: good morning, tam. we do know that the sharon
hill police officer is expected to be okay. the suspect, however, does remain in critical condition at penn presbyterian hospital. take a look at this video. this is video from last evening when this unfolded here in sharon hill around barker avenue near chester pike. it was in that block just before 8:00 p.m. that officers had been called to the home that -- they had been called to that block earlier in the week dealing with a mental health patient. this time they were called out last night responding to a domestic disturbance in the home. two officers arrived and nobody would answer. police then barged down the door. it was then that the suspect allegedly lunged the officers with a butcher knife. in the struggle one of the officers was stabbed in the left ear a county detective also responding to the same incident did fire a single shot striking the suspect in the chest. now, the suspect was rushed to penn presbyterian hospital. again we are told that he is in critical condition but he is stable. the sharon hill officer who was injured received three
stitches in his left ear and is okay. now, back out here live at this hour it's hard to get much more information out of sharon hill police. that's because normally in these situations in an officer-involved shooting it is the county that does take over the investigation. now, we are in delaware county, however, since a delaware county officer was involved in this, that means that they are passing this over to the montgomery county prosecutor's office so we're still waiting to hear any details from them. for now reporting live in sharon hill, annie mccormick channel6 "action news." >> thanks, annie. bethlehem police say they have identified the man suspected of throwing a bodily fluid on a woman inside a grocery store and they hope to catch him soon because they believe ther there are other victims. 57-year-old michael morris is accused in the original attack at the valley farm market on monday. police say he did the same thing to a bus passenger in the lehigh valley in 2014 and add that morris has a history of lewdness in pennsylvania, new york going back to the 1970's. police are asking for the public's help to try and locate morris.

>> anyone with information is asked to contact pennsylvania state police. >> i'm erin o'hearn at the big board. the system that is going to bring us heavy rain today has left a devastating path of destruction in the south. here are some damaged homes and properties in pensacola florida and the situation even more dire in louisiana. officials have confirmed two people are dead and dozens more injured after a storm ripped through an rv park in saint james parish. you can see the storm there overturned trailers and left debris everywhere. it is possible tornado touched down and as you can see search and rescue teams were working to help the victims. about 300 people live in the rv park. >> asking for prayers by everyone here, two individuals lost their lives here. we have seven critical injuries that we are aware of. we have roughly 30 plus other injuries. >> and this is what is left of a gold's gym in prairieville,

philadelphia and that's what's coming from the south. the farther west you go towards parts of chester county there's a batch of steadier precipitation highlighted in darker shades of green and yellow pushing up towards pottstown but even that isn't going to last all that long. looking outside we have cloudy and damp conditions this morning. in most cases you're seeing people get through the highways okay. no flooding out there. little bit of fog developing down closer to the shore so that could be an issue for you this morning. 42 degrees in philadelphia, 41 in wilmington. still in the mid 30's in allentown but any winter weather advisories in our area have now been canceled. we had one up in northampton but it's been dropped early so it's all rain everywhere. little milder down south. future tracker6 shows that during the morning hours there is the possibility of a batch of steadier downpours though by noon some of you might get into some steadier rain. then we get into the afternoon and it looks like it's damp much like it is now but it may be more avenue lighter precipitation. i'm really thinking that later in the evening hours probably after dinnertime that's the best chance of the strongest
gustiest winds building and the strong defendant downpours with thunderstorms coming through. between 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock we'll be on the lookout for thunderstorms that could produce strong gusty winds and in general the winds are going to get more blustery and gusty as this cold front gets through to us. light rain for awhile this morning. some spotty heavier cells coming through and then strong gusty winds later on. want to show you something called the low level jet. this is a strong wind profile right above the surface that can enhance thunderstorm development and mix down to the surface. by 2 o'clock this is mainly, this yellow area we're talking about farther to the west of us but it's really as we get late into the afternoon and evening where you see this orange covering this and that's that stronger wind above the surface. so as we get late into the afternoon and through the evening hours that's where we have the best chance of heavy rain with thunderstorms producing strong gusty winds. we're also looking at a decent amount of rain left over, too, between now and midnight. some areas could go up over an
inch and even higher than that where you get the thunderstorms. your seven-day from accuweather, 60 is today's high. now we probably won't hit that until around dinnertime or maybe not until this evening. periods of rain on the way with those temperatures rising through the 40's and 50's during the day and again that gusty thunderstorm in the evening. tomorrow just a spotty shower around windy otherwise high of 56. looking for a cool down friday and saturday milder air comes back again. sunday looks like we get up to about 60. monday breezy, 60, maybe a spotty shower. and 52 on tuesday with some afternoon rain likely. >> look at that seven-day. >> uh-huh. >> thanks dave. 5:11. all new on "action news" an naacp president calls out police in seattle for the shooting death of a black man. we'll have the details and the new dashcam video. >> two teens are facing criminal charges after they allegedly opened fire on that puppy almost 20 times. karen.
