area could flirt with 70 degrees out ahead of a storm system that will change some things by the end of this work week. that system arrives late tuesday night bringing the chance for rain and thunderstorms through the first part of wednesday. behind that system will come a shot of colder air for thursday and friday. late our top story this morning ... a virginia police officer is dead this morning after being shot and on her frist day back with the department. officer ashley guindon died after being shot saturday night. she and two other prince william county officers were on the scene of a domestic dispute in woodbridge when they were shot.

the altercation between the officers who and the suspect began. police say another woman was found dead at the scene when they arrived. meanwhile, two officers remain in the hospital recovering from their injuries. members of the prince william county police department and other first responders lined the streets to honor the newly sworn officer killed. the suspected shooter is in custody but has not been identified. the incident remains under investigation. back here in the star city, the suspect connected to an officer involved shooting in roanoke county has died. authorities say the suspect died friday after being transported to the hospital. however, the man's name is not being released yet until all family can be contacted. the shooting happened near the walgreens at brambelton avenue and electric road. officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave -- this is protocol following officer involved shootings. the incident remains under

clean up efforts continue in appomattox county several ripped through the area. people came together saturday offering relief to evergreen ... a small town hit the hardest by the storm. mercy chefs is a non profit organization that is feeding first responders and volutneers helping with the disaster relief. mercy chefs founder, gary leblanc says they traveled from virginia beach to offer their help to people assisting the relief effort. "i tell everybody i say i know why i do this it brings great personal satisfaction to the mission," he says they plan on feeding nearly 500 people during this time. leblanc says he started the non profit days after hurricane katrina. and since then he's fed over 1 million people. appomattox volunteer fire company is thanking organizations and agencies that are helping with the recovery. the group showed their appreciation on their facebook page saying ... "can't thank those enough for their

deadly crash in rockbridge county. it happened saturday on route 60. no word on the cause of that crash. police continue to investigate this incident. we'll keep you updated as more available. reopen after a single car crash in rockbridge county. it happened around 12:30 mile marker 194.. the car ran off the road ... hit a trees. two people were trapped... then flown to a hospital. no word on their conditions.

as some company. the social media giant announced it was expanding its users' ability to react to posts on their news feeds. facebook used to only have a "thumbs up" button -- if you wanted to like something. now, if you hover over the thumbs up button, you have the option of picking a heart, laughter, sad or angry faces. facebook says it tested the reactions in a few market places last year and received positive feedback. the new options are already available world-wide... whether you're at a desktop or using your mobile devices. a florida man is facing several charges including d-u-i after driving down the wrong side of the highway. this dashcam video shows the suspect driving along the breakdown land on interstate-75. the 21-year old drove six miles south in the northbound lane before exiting off on an

several drivers in the area were confused and terrified and made multiple calls to the police. according to authorities, the only thing hurt is the suspect's driving record. a new fireball is caught on camera over the spanish skies. the footage from the calar alto observatory shows the fireball over the southern spanish city of cordoba. according to experts, the fireball which is produced by a fragment from a comet, traveled at a speed of 59- miles pr hour. it ended up crashing against the earth's atmosphere which produced a spectacular flash. the observatory isn't sure if the fireball has any relation with two others traveling across the spanish skies over the past few days. the world's larget-ever model of the titanic opens to the public in southern spain. the model is "docked" in granada. visitors are able to see inside the

shots while responding to an assault report. witnesses say the shooting victim is a teenage male. according to them, the victim was arguing with another subject when police arrived. i don't know the whole sequence of events that have taken place yet, but we're investigating that. police have not released the identity of the victim or his condition. the incident remains under investigation. three people are stabbed and 13 others arrested after a ku klux klan rally erupts in violence. it happened in anaheim california during a planned kkk demonstration. police say klansmen clashed with counter- protesters setting off a chain of violent confrontations. according to authorities, three counter- protesters were stabbed in separate incidents. one kkk member used the eagle top of a flagpole to stab one person.

name. she's charged with threatening the school and computer harassment. athletes are raising awareness about bullying in schools. members on the "power team," ...group based out of texas... were at fairlawn church of god today. they showcased their strength by bending horseshoes into the shape of a heart. they say their goal is to get children to understand the dangers of bullying --- especially at school. the pastor at the church says he is glad the power team came to talk to children in the n-r-v-. marcus harrison/lead pastor fairlawn church of god - "it's amazing it's the first time we've been able to host the group, they're nationally renown i think they travelled in 43 different countries and they've been doing this for 40 years and excited they valley." the power team's next demonstration will be at at 6. hundreds gathered at hotel

this morning after being shot and on her frist day back with the department. officer ashley guindon died after being shot saturday night. she and two other prince william county officers were on the scene of a domestic dispute in woodbridge when they were shot. authorities say its unclear how the altercation between the officers who and the suspect began. police say another woman was found dead at the scene when they arrived. meanwhile, two officers remain in the hospital recovering from their injuries. members of the prince william county police department and other first responders lined the streets to honor the newly sworn officer killed. the suspected shooter is in custody but has not been identified. the incident remains under investigation. back here in the star city, the suspect connected to an officer involved shooting in roanoke county has died. authorities say the suspect died friday after being transported to the hospital. however, the man's name is not

family can be contacted. the shooting happened near the walgreens at brambelton avenue and electric road. officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave -- this is protocol following officer involved shootings. the incident remains under investigation. clean up efforts continue in appomattox county several days after an ef-3 tornado ripped through the area. people came together saturday offering relief to evergreen ... a small town hit the hardest by the storm. mercy chefs is a non profit organization that is feeding first responders and volutneers helping with the disaster relief. mercy chefs founder, gary leblanc says they traveled from virginia beach to offer their help to people assisting the relief effort. he says they plan on feeding nearly 500 people during this time. leblanc says he started the non profit days after hurricane katrina. and since then he's fed over 1 million people. appomattox volunteer fire

california during a planned kkk demonstration. police say klansmen clashed with counter- protesters setting off a chain of violent confrontations. according to authorities, three counter- protesters were stabbed in separate incidents. one kkk member used the eagle top of a flagpole to stab one person. police also arrested a three counter- protesters seen stomping a klansmen. authorities say no matter people's beliefs, their first amendment right must be respected. hundreds of ballons are released into the michigan sky honoring the victims of last week's deadly shooting rampage. people in the community gathered at the car dealership where father and son, richard and tyler smith were gunned down. suspect jason dalton shot the two during his five hour shooting spree last saturday. the crowd also honored the other four victims who lost their lives and the two survivors.
