lying on the ground with a stab wound to the head. police are looking for a man who walked into a d.c. elementary school wednesday and sexually assaulted an 11-year- old girl. it happened at ketcham elementary in southeast. investigators say a man apparently walked in off the street and that school officials unknowingly assigned the little girl to escort him around the building. the cancer charity susan g. komen is facing a backlash after cutting grants to planned parenthood. officials dan any political pressure from anti-abortion groups and has been swamped with negative e-mails and facebook postings. donald trump endorses mitt romney. >> thank you so much for your

help and your endorsement today. thank you, donald. >> reporter: donald trump was courted by all of the republican candidates but with the race now sporting a frontrunner, trump is placing his bets on mitt romney. >> it is my honor, real honor, and privilege to endorse mitt romney. >> reporter: earlier, romney had tea kleined an invitation it a trump-ofted debate. today, he was eager to accept his backing. >> donald trump has shown an extraordinary ability to understand how our economy works, to create jobs for the american people. he has done it here in nevada. he has done it across the country. >> reporter: for his part, trump, who had been critical of romney in the past, now says he is the best candidate to become the republican nominee.

and pick me up. but no, no sarah simmons. on the roads, you will find lanes are open as you work your way northbound along 395 leaving the beltway headed out towards the pentagon. overnight construction has cleared as you work your way through virginia, not only on 359 leaving landmark headed north but on the beltway between an and del and merrifield. light traffic volume there. and you find 66 out to the west nice and quiet coming in from the beltway. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. the search if a missing 14- year-old girl and her young baby. shanee cox and her six-month- old daughter were last seen yesterday in the 2200 block of georgian way in wheaton. their picture are on the screen. reen. the baby had on a pink snow suit. family members say shanee may be in need of medical

attention. d.c. police are investigating a stabbing that left a man in critical condition. witnesses flagged down an officer and led him to the victim who was a man dressed in women's clothing. still no suspect or motive in this case. a school in charles county is sending warnings to parents over a dangerous game that is gaining popularity with kids. three students were rushed to the hospital yesterday for playing something called knockout or passout. several others were seen by school nurse ifs after they held their breath until they passed out. the school also got information about students engaging in a cinnamon challenge, eating a lot of it to get a buzz. charles county public school principals will speak to the students this morning during announcements about the risk. new detail about a student sexually assaulted at a school. we now know the attacker didn't just walk in and tax a student.

police say the young girl was asked to escort her attacker through the building t happened at ketcham elementary school in southeast. sherry ly is live with the story. >> reporter: good morning, wisdom. we do know school official are telling us the girl is okay. police say they have a vague description of that man who touched the student but he left right afterward and there has been no sign of him. he hasn't been caught. this happened at ketcham elementary school on 15th street southeast around 4:00 on wednesday afternoon. police say the man came to the school and apparently asked to see someone there. the 11-year-old girl was asked to escort him and during that time, police say he inappropriately touched her. parents at the school late yesterday say they have heard about the alleged assault but that no letter was ever sent home telling them about it.

>> i'm doubly outraged about what i hear about the incident where an adult let a child escort another adult through the school. i can't think of words for that. i'm going to get to the bottom of it. >> reporter: in a statement to fox 5 news, the school system spokesperson says, quote, dcps is treating this matter very seriously. we are working with mpd and recrewing our security measures to ensure we have the best protocols in place to prevent preach of our school building of unauthorized individuals. police say the suspect apparently walked into the school off the street. he left the same way. there is no trace of him. but investigators are checking security cameras in the area to see if it may have caught the suspect. that is the latest here at school board headquarters. thank you. a montgomery county track coach is accused of having sex

with one of his runners. scott peer is a teacher at jewel yes, sir west middle school. police say he had sex twice with a 16-year-old girl who was on his team last year. the alleged incident happened last april or may. school official say he is currently on administrative leave. prince george's county police have arrested a second suspect in the murder case of community activist lenny harris. yesterday, officers arrested 20- year-old ivan newman of waldorf, maryland. earlier this week, officers took linwood johnson into custody. they are both being charged with murder. police expect more arrests to come as the investigation continues. another big story we are following this morning. supporters are rallying for

planned parenthood. a major breast cancer charity cut funds to planned parenthood. susan j. komen says it cut the money because planned parenthood does not do breast cancer screenings. reality tv show star donald trump's surprise endorsement and his choice caught some people off guard. donald trump endorses mitt romney in las vegas yesterday. >> mitt is tough. he is smart. he is sharp. he is not going to allow bad things to continue to happen to this country that we all love. so governor romney, go out and get 'em. you can do it. >> thank you. there are some things you just can't imagine happening in your life. this is one of them.

standardized test. it is up clear what will happen in the state senate which has inia's 132 e repeal before. school districts already have the waiver to open before labor day. iran is also making head line this morning. first with a satellite launch. early this morning, it is raising concerns because it could have military appear indications and also the u.s. defense secretary says israel could launch an attack on iran's illicit nuclear sites within months. leon panetta tells the "washington post" he is concerned that an attack could come as early as this spring. israel's defense minister says military action has to be considered and says world leaders are realizing that air strikes will be needed in sanctions do not stop the nuclear program. >> there is a wide understanding in the world that it is vital to prevent iran from turning nuclear and no option should be taken off the table. >> israel also claims iran is developing a long-range missile capable of reaching the united

50s for the next several days. here we go. temperature right new at reagan national, we are down to 40 degrees. 40 in quantico. this is one of our coldest mornings this week as these temperatures have fallen to the freezing mark in plenty of spots. frederick, currently, 32 degrees. leonardtown now 34. if you are headed out this morning, it will be noticeably cooler than what you've been feeling with the last several mornings. lots of quiet on the map. we have high pressure. there will be a bit of a breeze out of the north and west during the course of the day. that will usher in the cooler air. highs in the upper 40s, low 50s. maybe a 52 in fredericksburg for an afternoon high. that is about it. plenty of sunshine. a pleasant afternoon. winds out of the north and west at about five to 10 miles per hour. clear and chilly overnight. 35 your overnight low.
