this morning, class will go on at a newport news high school even after denbigh high school officials say the threat is not credible. as a precaution though, they are increasing security for today, and

plan to have more patrols at the school. rico bush is live outside denbigh high this morning. rico, you spoke with parents - how are they taking the threat? don, one parent says she's not sending her son to school today despite there being no credible threat. the mother saying she'd rather keep her child at home than have something happen at school. 's what we know. ansp michelle price said school officials learned of the threat last week. police and resource officers plan to sweep the school this morning to look for evidence related to the threat. price said the school did security checks on f like making sureoo an d found icious. ice told us an automated message went out to parents about the bomb media. school officials believe the children are, which

a hampton family is upset after a pharmacy reportedly put her son's name on her medication. amanda mccoy says both she and her five-year-old son were sick at the same time. both of their prescriptions went to the rite aid on east pembroke avenue. the boy's doctor pbed him eyedrops, but someone put his name on a bottle of

injuries are a given in sports, but a teenage basketball player in wisconsin is recovering after being partially impaled by a splintered floorboard. it was caught on camera. take a looidateo from sunday's game. you can see the player in green fall to the floor and not get back up. a floorboard split, and the 14-year-old fell onto a 3 or 4 inch splinter. she is okay. it didn't hit any major organs. officials are working on fixing the

new this morning, a local political poll puts donald trump and hillary clinton in the lead with just two weeks before virginia votes in the super tuesday primaries. christopher newport university interviewed 735 registered voters for two days last week. among republican voters, they found trump got 28 percent of the gop vote, followed by 22 percent for marco rubio. 19 percent picked ted cruz. among democrats,

many musicians are waking up winners today following the grammys. the star-studded event also had some big-name tributes to fallen singers. stevie wonder honored maurice white of "earth, wind, and fire" and lady gaga channeled ziggy stardust in a david bowie tribute. basketball player is recovering from a very strange wound. the wisconsin teen was partially impaled by a splintered floorboard. it was caught on camera. take a look at the video from sunday's game. you can see the player in green fall to the floor and not get back up. in a local murder trial. police charged edward brooks with murder after a fight broke out at the members barber salon on virginia beach boulevard. wittnesses told us brooks and derell stephens worked side by side when they started fighting. police believe brooks stabbed he later died. brooks is in jail without bond. today the coast guard plans to hold a hearing on a cargo ship that sank in the caribbean. it's the first of two sessions on the el faro. the coast guard is expected to focus on the events that led up to the ship sinking. the hearings will be in florida. we also expect to learn more about the crew members and the ships previous voyages. the second hearing will focus on the ship's last journey where all 33 people on board died, including a virginia beach and a chesapeake man. it probably won't take long for sacramento police to catch up with a home burglary thief. that's because officers say he left his cellphone at the scene. after coming home from

new this morning, a local political poll puts donald trump and hillary clinton in the lead with just two weeks before virginia votes in the super tuesday primaries. christopher newport university interviewed 735 registered voters for two among republican voters, they found trump got 28 percent of the gop vote, followed by 22 percent for marco rubio. 19 percent picked ted cruz. among democrats, hillary clinton got 52 percent and bernie sanders got 40 percent. both parties hold their presidential primaries in virginia on march first. new this morning, portsmouth police are looking for two home invasion suspects from overnight. a police spokeswoman told us it happened just after midnight on median circle. that's off greenwood drive. officers say the two men forced their way into a
