7:48 am
passed that changed that. now the dui offender would pay the city for those extra resources. c 1 5:23 ronald mcclenny retired police officer -- absolutely, they should reimburse the city for the time spent. and they that either have the law and don't use it - or don't have it on the books at all. c 1 9:13 ronald mcclenny retired police officer -- it doesn't make any sense. you've got an offender who has comitted a crime, you have an offender who's been convicted of a crime, but yet they don't have to pay the penalty because those reimbursements cover city expenses, they can end up saving some tax dollars. virginia beach has found a way to make the law work. c 1 29:51 john atkinson virginia beach treasurer -- it's not a large sum of money but obviously in an environment such as ours, anything helps. we examine a tool that your city can use to collect money from people who break the law, and ease the burden a bit on taxpayers. chris horne 10 on your investigation "failing to fine" tonight at 6 with coverage beginning at 4 pm. good morning, hampton
