news 10 starting at 4. in the meantime,trump is hoping that last night's big win carries over to next week, when voters here in virginia head to the polls. 49 delegates are up for grabs in the commonwealth. coming up at 5:00 - we'll tell you where the gop candidates stand in the polls in virginia. live in virginia beach, rico bush, 10 on your side. new this morning, a man is recovering in the hospital after police say someone shot him in portsmouth. it happened late last night on lexington drive. that's off deep creek boulevard. officers say the bullet hit the victim in his lower body. he should be okay. we're working to learn if police have any suspect information. call the crime line if you have any details. today a local pastor is scheduled for a court hearing to face child sex crime charges. suffolk police arrested anthony mcclain in december. he's scheduled for an

and indecent liberties with a child. according to his website, mcclain ran a ministry out of his home local man accused of shooting and hurting three teenage boys in virginia beach. javante johnson faces malicious wounding and gun charges. police arrested him after the shooting in april on arthur avenue. investigators said the teens were between 15 and 18 years old. local retirees are angry after a city cut part of their benefits. 10 on your side investigates a medical coverage program that's no longer covered. plus new this morning, governor mccrory works to reverse a new law in charlotte. why he says it compromises your security. and -- lawmakers on the hill decide what do about zika. this as the c-d-c

portsmouth city retirees have something to say after the city cut part of their medical coverage benefits. the issue came up at last night's city council

a new policy in 2015 meant retirees 65 and older had to get off the city's health care plan. with a new medicare supplement plan, employees received an annual h-r-a. it meant they had $1,400 dollars to spend on out of pocket expenses. after nine months of the program - the city said it would no longer fund the h-r-a. retirees are outraged - saying the plan has left them in a terrible position. sot --- garland alexander - retired firefighter c16 10:29:47 - we were led to believe that we were going to receive this money. had we not, if it said one time thing, we would have made different choices. council members said at tuesday night's meeting, the h-r-a was part of a pilot program and was never meant to continue. the city manager said she will come up with a plan to phase the h-r-a out in a week. new this morning, governor pat mccrory says he'll try to stop charlotte's controversial l-g-b-t bathroom ordinance from passing across north carolina.

after city leaders made it against the law to discriminate against the l-g-b-t community. the law would allow people to use the bathrooms of their choice. gov. pat mccrory, (r) north carolina) "i think they crossed the common sense threshold of interfering with people basic sense of privacy as security that we all expect." the governor says state legislators are already working on a bill to reverse what charlotte did. today congress will address growing concerns about the spread of the zika virus. lawmakers will hold a hearing this morning on capitol hill. the deputy director for the centers for disease control and prevention and others in the medical community are expected to testify. the hearing comes as the c-d-c investigates 14 new cases of the zika virus in the u-s. officials say some involve pregant women. so far there they've confirmed 23 cases in the u-s. the world health organization thinks up to four million people could be infected in the next

deputies in york county say they arrested an armed robbery suspect. 18-year-old william hayes faces charges this morning. according to court papers, he admitted to six robberies. the sheriff says deputies tracked hayes down, after reports of a valero gas station robbery, on monday. in all but one case, the paperwork says: the suspect told victims to count to 100-- before he got away. pull from 5pm pkg sheriff j.d. danny diggs - york county 130 the car met the description of our previous and we put two and two together and we had enough to arrest him 135 314 this is an example of police work, good police work, alert police officers at its best. 318 in several cases, the sheriff says hayes wore a surgical mask. court documents show deputies found that mask in his vehicle. he's behind bars this morning. a virginia beach police officer charged with a d-u-i is out of jail on bond. police say margaret hobbs had two young children in the car with her when they pulled her over sunday. investigators say the 17-year-veteran is accused of trying to get

chapman. police say chapman was unharmed when rankin confronted him about shoplifting outside the walmart on frederick boulevard. severe weather across the south created tornadoes that killed at least three people. nats of winds check out these strong winds that raced through pensacola, florida. there is minimal damage there, but most of the drivers to stay off the roads as the 60 to 80 miles an hour wind gusts continued. the storm hit lousiania the hardest. a possible tornado hit the town of convent, near baton rouge, and took out most of a mobile home park. police say some people died and dozens of others were hurt. strong winds also destroyed a gym in new orleans. the powerful storm ripped off part of the roof and a side of the building, exposing the
