and santa clara to join our sports guys for a segment. our special at 8:00, "chasing a championship." i will see you then. carol: amend that played it with the panthers in 2004 was among a group of athletes honored in spartanburg. mike mccormick is live in spartanburg high. mike: here this afternoon, the celebration was all about the big game. those that played in the past, and number 50 happening someday. the students at spartanburg high yield the words "keep pounding" to cheer on the panthers. they were here to honor four men that went on to play in the super bowl. in honor of each graduate, the school got a golden football in honor of the nfl super bowl high school honorable program. current student-athletes

a few high thing cirrus clouds coming from thee west. in boone. 36 degrees and asheville. as it gets cold now, just wait. chris is just next door. chris, we are looking at the models. it is going to change in a big way next week. chris: we have been watching the models closely. that is the key -- when does the cold air arrived? even colder air arrives next week. this weekend will be cool, but next week will be frigid. some of the coldest air of the season thus far. this just in, new model information in. sunday afternoon we will see rain across the coast. some models have been hinting this could mix with wet snowflakes for wilmington and myrtle beach. all the moisture stays well east of here. look what happens as we go throughout the night sunday into monday. our next system starts to blast througug nashville into east

as it encounters some cold air in our area, for other day on monday we will see snow showers for the mountains. some of the models hinting that it creeps down into the upstate. it will not be a whole lot whatsoever. let me show you the computer models. this was the gsp area. the european model showing a dusting.the rest of the models showing nada. nothing for the gsp area. the european and american in a good agreement that the mountains will have over one inch. not a big deal, but chief meteorologist john cessarich joins us again. we have looked at the models and made our own forecast. john: this is not a big storm system. it's not what we dealt with last week or a couple weeks ago. most of us might not even see a snowflake at all in the upstate. the best chance is north of i-85. zero to a dusting. me of you might see a dusting in the form of flurries and snow showers, especially tuesday

monday night into tuesday, i should say. 1-3 inches is a good bet for the mountains. chris: if you're going to see a snowflake in the mountains, it would be the afternoon on monday. then this note retreats to the tennessee border. -- the snow retreat to the tennessee border. when we had it at snow on wednesday randomly, it was here that gone. -- it was here then gone. >> it's hard to sleep at night. it's hard to go through your day because you know, you don't have answers. michael: three months, and it still no answers after the slaying of four family members

of four slain family members... more than three michael: a candlelight vigil is being planned to celebrate the lives of four slain family members. more than 3 months later, still no arrests. wyff news 4's mandy gaither is live and local in anderson county with the latest on the investigation. mandy: deputies say they're following up on leads as they come in and constantly reviewing the case. investigators have also consulted criminal profiler's with the state law enforcement division. anderson county sheriff's office says they hope to gain insight on the crimes, and into who would do such a thing. the bodies of mike and cathy scott, their mothers, barbara scott and violet taylor, were found inside their refuge road home on november 2, all shot to death. the family just wants answers. >> it is hard to sleep at night, to go on through your day.

all you are waiting on his something to help you. mandy: the family is planning a family -- candlelight vigil february 10 at pendleton park. the public is invited. live in anderson countnt carol: a portion of cherrydale elementary school caught fire earlier this afternoon. officials with greenville county schools say it started in one of the portable classrooms around 2:30. they say the classroom was empty at the time. officials say the fire was out within fifteen minutes. students were dismissed from school at 3:00. no one was injured andndo other buildings were damaged. michael: hillary clinton and bernie sanders squared off one last time before new hampshire. votes in the primary coming up tuesday. clinton it looks to gain ground on the vermont senator after the newest cnn wmur poll showing sanders with a 31 point lead

sen. sanders: i am on the health education labor committee. that wrote the affordable care act. the idea that i would dismantle health care in america while we're waiting to pass a medicare for all act is just not accurate. mrs. clinton: i don't think these kinds of attacks by insinuation are worthy of you. enough is enough. you got something to say, say it. sen. sanders: instead of arguing about definitions, let's talk about what we should do. michael: feisty last night. the newest university pulls shows sanders grinning ground on clinton. pull from mid-december shows clinton up by 31 points over sanders. but look at what a month and a half can do. clinton's lead is down to just 2 percentage points. 11% of voters undecided. on the republican side, donald trump has extended his lead in the field. >> i think it is huge for the upstate. i think it's going to be a lot of help. michael: it is huge all right.

live and local on chrome drive near the harley davidson dealership in greenville. corey? corey: michael and carol, the first major work is on chrome drive also on roper mountain road near the i-85 area. the dirt has been moved, and now drivers should appear for the three-year transformation of the i-85, i 385 interchange. >> the important thing is, will it functioned beautifully? corey: that is what convoys -- employees at cabela's in magnolia park are hoping. >> this is going to be amazing. greenville is only set to grow. corey: right now the interchange supports about 220,000 cars a day. the new project will handle that more than 350,000. the shops at green ridge are on the bottom left, and the harley-davidson dealership is on the far right.
