troopers there said the vehicle the governor was in was rear-ended and totaled leaving the stadium. the governor's office says mccrory experienced minor pain, but turned down treatment and continued to his destination in another vehicle. allyson: more on the super bowl in a minute but first, a quick , look at the weather. a live look here from our woodruff road skycam on the left and our anderson skycam on the right. in western north carolina, we learned of a couple of closings. mitchell county schools and day. schools closing list. mix this afternoon, right? dale: the foothills and the asheville area may get a wintry mix this afternoon, but the higher elevations are the ones that will see most of the snow pile up. no problems on paris mountain other than it being cold. 33 and calm this morning.

bit of snow in cherokee county and graham county and swing county -- swain county. the areas in pink are under a winter storm warning through thursday. it will come down tonight continuing through tuesday, wednesday. asheville will see a little bit of snow. so will southern jackson county and macon county, but it will be the higher elevations in north carolina that will bear the brunt of this particular storm. there will be more closings and delays the next couple of mornings. 20's this morning in the mountains will climb to the low 40's. the upstate will climb to the upper 40's for the afternoon today. that is what is going on early. we will have more on this upcoming winter weather event throughout the morning. allyson: thank you. patrick: peyton manning with a big broncos victory yesterday but it was defense, defense, and more defense, in the panthers cannot overcome. allyson: they still have a season to be proud of. geoff hart joins us live this morning from levi's stadium the morning after.

for carolina panthers fans, watching super bowl 50 was frankly excruciating. you thought time and time again they were going to get it together but it just, never happened. here is brad fralick. it certainly did not finish how the carolina panthers wanted it to. an opportunity to bring home the franchise's first ever super bowl championship, but it was not to be. cam newton and the carolina panthers in santa clara facing peyton manning and the denver broncos. possibly manning's last career football game, but the denver defense showed up early. von miller was an absolute man. malik jackson recover the fumble von miller forcing the fumble there. he was named most valuable jonathan stewart got the panthers in the end zone, leaping in the end zone.

around the stadium, but lots of fans looking forward to next year. wyff news 4's aly myles joins us live from bank of america stadium. good morning. aly: good morning guys. unfortunately, it does not look as fun as it was in colorado. a line of disappointed fans, but a line of proud fans. completely quiet besides a few news crews out this morning. that is not what is to be expected with the team arrives back from california today. the team and fans have so much to be proud of. they talked with tim waller last night. take a look here at sky 4 video from around charlotte last . you can see the city showing its panthers pride lit up in panthers blue. not too far from bank of america stadium, wyff news 4's tim waller found fans last night already looking ahead to next season. tim: this is where the party was. you can see the big flat screens here at the all american pub. boy, this place was packed

it was over and the fans realized their panthers weren't going to win the super bowl there was a lot of , disappointment. yet somehow, in the middle of it all, there was optimism. >> i think this is the start of something great for charlotte and the panthers. this is a small taste of what is to come. >> the city love the panthers and want to be a part of it. it makes you proud to be in a city growing so much. tim: here is what it took to throw such a great party. 12,500 wings, 200 cases of beer, and 40 kegs here at this super bowl party with so much disappointment at the very end. tim waller, wyff news 4, in charlotte. aly: like tim was saying, so much disappointment, but so much pride. when the team arrives from california, they are expecting a big scene.

patrick: corey: people here were glued to the tvs at bar louie. they were hoping the panthers could come out with a win. there were showing up their popular dance moves. cam newton and luke keuchley were the most popular players in the bar tonight. there were several other nfl teams represented like the denver broncos. several fans here had those jerseys on. new orleans saints also. we saw a man wearing a detroit lions jersey. we asked a lot of people they were looking for most during the game. none of them said the halftime show or even the commercials,

allyson: greenville county deputies are looking for the person who shot a man down this this weekend. deputies were called saturday night to an apartment complex on edwards road in taylors. investigators say they found a man shot in the leg. 23-year-old anquan gambrell died later at a hospital. patrick: the search continues for adriel garnett in connection with a deadly shooting in woodruff. police say the shooting happened early saturday morning. they say garnett may be headed to the charleston area. allyson: greenville county deputies are investigating a shooting that happened at 2:00 a.m. in a club.

like many carolina panthers head this morning. was that a carolina panthers touchdown after scoring a combined 80 points in their two in arizona? it was a shocking, stunning loss to the denver broncos. marc dopher with reaction. marc: the panthers second ever trip to the super bowl and is like the first one with a loss. the denver broncos go home of the lombardi trophy. the panthers are left to wonder what could have been up to best season in franchise history. >> obviously, we played 17, 18, 19 games before this. we picked a bad day to have a meltdown. when we were on, we were moving the ball. we had things going. we had a couple of big plays that sparked us.

dale: good morning. that time is 6:20. let's take a look at our various skycams. cold conditions as we look from gives field -- gibbs field, wofford college. it is the mountains of north carolina that are starting to see some snow. some flurries in northern macon county. swain county will get a little action also. it is the counties along the tennessee-north carolina border highlighted d purple or pink on your television screen all under the winter storm warning. that just means there will be enough snow piling up over the next couple of days to make for very slick driving. and will pile up later this afternoon. tonight, it will be treacherous driving.

wednesday, we will continue to see snow falling across the mountains of north carolina. i know gives of the upstate are disappointed i am not saying south carolina also, but it will basically be a mountain event. there may be a flurry or two of snow mixed in this afternoon or evening. as the morning goes on, temperatures will climb to the upper 40's in the upstate in the mountains will see temperatures in the low 40's. they gets really cold tonight and stays cold the next several days. the cold canadian blast coming all the way down south. even orlando is at 39 degrees this morning. afternoon highs in the upper 40's for the upstate and low 40's expected for the mountains today. some areas may hit the mid 40's. snow will be in the late morning and early afternoon. higher elevations will be hit the hardest. that will continue through wednesday. asheville and hendersonville will see it through tuesday. the e state will be cold tomorrow and the next couple of days. upper 30's for highs and upper

allyson: mitchell and neighboring counties are closed it today. dale: so far, yeah. snow starting in higher elevations in north carolina. it was anticipated coming in the late morning and early afternoon. it will pile up enough to cause problems. that is why the areas highlighted in pink are under a winter storm warning.

announcer: now, your live super doppler 4 hd weather forecast. dale: 6:41 the time. low 30's in the upstate. snow has already begun in western north carolina. swain, mitchell, and avery counties have decided to call it a day. the counties highlighted in pink on your television screen are the ones that will see the most, anywhere from 2-6 inches of snow could accumulate between now and wednesday morning. there could be a dusting in the asheville area. it could get a little slippery. temperatures in the upper 20's and low 30's now will reach into the 40's for the afternoon. this will be the warmest day and then a cold air coming in tonight will keep us chilly for the rest of the week. tomorrow, temperatures in the

patrick: a lot of super bowl coverage this morning, but we have college basketball to get. the clemson tigers looking to bounce back from a road loss this weekend to virginia. the men jump into action at 9:00 tonight, hosting notre dame at the well. the tigers have never beaten the irish on the hardwood. meanwhile, the gamecock women will play in front of a sold out columbia crowd at 7:00 tonight . it is the biggest game of the regular season. number one versus number two, usc and uconn. the last two undefeated team's in division i women's basketball. tiffany mitchell, who was injured in the team's last game, says she'll be ready to go tonight. tonight's big game for the women comes after the men picked up their first road win over a top 10 team in almost 10 years. the gamecocks beat eighth-ranked texas a&m saturday. usc next hosts first place lsu at 7:00 wednesday night. allyson: a live look right now from bank of america stadium in charlotte.

mix right dale? ,dale: it will be snowing in the mountains of north carolina starting in the afternoon and picking up tonight and continuing. some areas have seen flurries of snow along the tennessee-north carolina border. some counties have said let us not do it and get them to school and turn them around. more on the way as this cold air blast comes in this afternoon and tonight. it will continue to snow along the tennessee-north carolina border through tuesday and into wednesday. winter storm warnings out all way through thursday morning. for the upstate, it will be a rain-snow mix this afternoon, and it will not stick because it is not cold enough. for the upstate, upper 40's today. mountains will see low 40's at best.

hurt and taken to the hospital. in greenville county deputies , are looking for the person who shot a man this weekend. deputies were called saturday night to an apartment complex on edwards road in taylors. investigators say they found anquan gambrell shot in the leg. investigators say he later died at a hospital. allyson: the search also continues for adriel garnett in connection with a deadly shooting in woodruff. police say the shooting happened early saturday morning. they say garnett may be headed to the charleston area. a north carolina man died over the weekend after running in a doughnut challenge road race. patrick: north carolina state officials say it happened during the 12th annual krispy kreme challenge. the university says a 58-year-old male stepped out of the race within the first mile and reported having chest pains. he was pronounced dead at the hospital. the race is a student-led charity run supporting the local children's hospital.

in an hour. allyson: in georgia, one person is dead and six others hurt after a plant explosion northwest of atlanta. police say it happened early sunday morning at a chicken farm. they say 25-year-old justin deems died and six people were taken to a hospital, including one in critical condition. authorities say the cause remains under investigation. turning once more to our super bowl coverage, the panthers offense could not get it done against the broncos. patrick: it was a good defense on both sides, but it seems like every time they had momentum, they hurt themselves and gave the ball away. greg olsen said after the game it was not the time for them to meltdown like that. allyson: in charlotte, a quieter scene this morning. from sky4. patrick: beautiful shots. wyff news 4's aly myles joins us live from the bank of america stadium. good morning.

look at the counties under winter storm warning highlighted in pink. we have already heard from swain, mitchell, and avery decided to close today. we will see anywhere from 2-6 plus inches of snow between now and wednesday night along the spine of the tennessee-north carolina border. a pretty good blast from tennessee will hit the mountains and change to snow. that will be the story. be careful if you are traveling across the tennessee border tonight through the next couple of days. there will be more closings and delays tomorrow and possibly wednesday also. we will have that information first thing.cold air will be the story . today will be the warmest day of the week. 30's this morning in the upstate to upper 40's. the mountains will top 40 in many places but tomorrow, it was they in the 30's for the upstate and mountains. whenever falls tonight through
