welcome to america's news headquarters from washington. coming in just minutes ago, as the presidential candidates enter the thick of the primary season, it's a saturday document dump. after missing a deadline and being admonished by a federal judge, the state department releases the latest batch of hillary clinton's e-mails from her time as secretary of state. our own kristin fisher is taking a look at them from right here in washington. hi, kristen. >> so the state department released this latest batch less than an hour ago. we're still sorting through hundreds of e-mails, but here's what we know now. of the 551 e-mails released today, 84 of them contain classified information. a state department official says those 84 documents were upgraded to classified today. that they were not marked classified at the time they were sent. but as we've been reporting for many months now, clinton's critics argue, it doesn't matter whether it's marked classified or not, classified information is classified information, period. and one of the first thin

they're tired of washington as usual. they're tired of the washington cartel. they're tired of big government, dictating what goes on in this country and what ted cruz was able to do is galvanize conservative as cross iowa. this is an opportunity to show such a republican party is not uniting conservatives. what we saw traveling across the state over the past several months is that conservatives want to join together and stand behind a person who is a consistent conservative. >> he galvanized conservatives. sorry. but he did not galvanize the moderates who went more for donald trump and marco rubio. what does that mean for ted cruz in new hampshire? >> we're going to continue the message that we have had but what we certainly don't need to happen is for the republican pa party to nominate another moderate and lose when it comes time for the general election. so people in iowa saw they had someone they can believe would say something today on the campaign trail and when nominated president would actually do that. they needed someone they haven't had in two cycle

there's a lot less hope in washington, d.c. and i think more that alone if that is the thrust of your campaign, you have utterly failed. andrea: it seems like, sandra, his last campaign for the white house the tone shifted to an even darker place. it got really nasty. and i remember talking to friends who had been press secretaries before, and we said, you know, it wasn't like this. they're actually saying and calling people out as liars. that was one thing you didn't do before. so it has gotten really nasty. is that his fault? sandra: yeah, it's not just his fault, people in general feel that in this country, and he described in this speech, by the way, the poisonous political climate that pushes people away from participating in public life. he said it turns folks off, it discourages them, makes them cynical. and i'm thinking, actually, it's inspired them. with what we're already seeing as far as voter turnout, it's angered people to the point that they're going out in large droves in this election cycle. >> i think that expl

money and the stamina and the fact that you have ted cruz who is not liked by the establishment in washington. you have donald trump who if you add them both together you have over 50% of the vote. not liked by them. how much money do you think goes to marco rubio after today? >> well, i think that is the big decision that establishment candidates or the establishment part of the republican party, the centrist part, if you will, however you want to call it, they have to make a decision if they really want to put their power behind somebody like marco rubio. because if not, then, you know, we're sitting here talking about scenarios for ted cruz to go on longer. for marco rubio to go on longer. i talked about how donald trump is leading in every single other poll and every single other state outside of iowa. that is why those kinds of scenarios, if people don't start getting out and getting out fast and consolidating behind one or two candidates other than trump, i still think trump can actually trump everybody else moving forward. >> and when we come back we'll talk about much more in a second

welcome to washington. i am bret baier. the gloves are officially off after a night of blistering attacks leveled at the front runner from senators marco rubio and ted cruz, a man known for not backing down, and chris christie. christie endorsed donald trump today. you may remember, christie attacked rubio for repeating himself at the debate in new hampshire. a short time ago i asked senator rubio about christie's endorsement of trump, i will have that answer in a moment. first, chief correspondent carl cameron with the intense fight for the nomination. >> i am proud to be here to endorse donald trump for president of the united states. >> reporter: he tried to shift attention from what many saw as a debate drubbing, to a news conference in new york that lasted three hours. he called marco rubio a nervous sweating lightweight scared puppy gl he was trying to cover the sweat. did you ever see a guy sweat like this? it's rubio. that's why they -- >> reporter: yet to win any state, rubio mocked trump's vanity after ridiculing
