we are live in downtown miami with our top story. >>reporter: police arrested this boy who shot and killed his 14-year-old friend where they brought him to the juvenile assessment center. here is what happened. take a look. mamie gardens police spend hours at a house on northwest 14-year-old taveras roads was shot saturday. a friend of his had come over with a gun. the boy was showing it to taveras and another 14-year-old in the gun went off, killing taveras he was pronounced dead at the hospital. family and friends stood outside the home, stunned by his death. >> they are teenagers, they are babies. >> we lost a wonderful kid. i was smiling, always playing. trying to make you laugh. >>reporter: sunday morning at new beginnings. missionary baptist church , church leaders held off on the regular sermon and put on a special service with the kids directly spreading knowledge to help recent death. guns. >> it's a sad situation, nobody wins. we want to do something that is proactive and productive to try children to do what's right. >>rep
