among those voters mr. rubio led mr. trump 44-24%. so rubio according to the exit polls is the guy republicans think can win? >> we'll see. that is the picture you get. look, there are a lot of people around here where i sit, republican looking for somebody emergeed not named cruz or trump and if it is marco rubio they would be happy with that. there are a couple other people who still have chance to emerge that lane in new hampshire. didn't place heavily in iowa. i'm talking about john kasich, jeb bush and chris christie. there is alternative for them to emerge with marco rubio in that space. once you get past new hampshire there is somebody in spot where more traditional candidate lies but not three or four people. we'll see what that is. marco rubio has appeal to some people. doesn't look traditional. hasn't been in washington for some time. he is younger candidate, looks untraditional in a year where not traditional is place to be. he is comfortable with the establishment. he is trying to live in the space between the two big curr

more likely any challenge to mr. trump tomorrow will come from ted cruz and/or marco rubio. marco rubio did poorly in new hampshire. but he's been riding high recently, in part, because of an endorsement from south carolina's governor nikki haly. also, though, i have to say his campaign seems excited about marco rubio's prospects in south carolina, south carolina senator tim scott, he endorsed rubio, you see him between the governor and mr. rubio. tim scott probably went a little far out on a limb this week when he raised expectations sky high for how marco rubio will do in south carolina, tim scott told reporters this week, mr. rubio could place 2nd in the state or quote which have a long distance shot at 1st. 1st place. and that is awesome as a pep talk. right. that's awesome to show your psyched and confident. it's a bad idea, though, to say it to somebody other than your campaign volunteers. it's a bad idea to say that to the press, you raised expectation you may not meet. now if marco rubio doesn't come in first, his campaign might thought he might. nobody wants to show

they've exchanged news articles and praised potential areas of vulnerability for mr. rubio. there's no formal coordination, the operatives stress, but rather, a he recognition of a shared agenda. dwoe have similar goals, an advisor to mr. christie said. bob, you have been in this game for a long time. have you ever seen campaigns getting together like this? >> well, not in new hampshire. i've been in new hampshire for seven presidential races, and i can tell you one thing about polls there. the longest four days of a presidential campaign year are the four days before new hampshire votes. it is a state that people change their minds over the weekend. that's why there's so much tracking going on, and i'll tell you, the irony of it is is that sanders has the bigger problem because of our poll. 41 points up. he isn't getting anywhere near that. my guess is if hillary clinton does what i think she can do, she can get under ten points, and what does sanders do at that point? he should have won bigger. that's what some people will say. the real question about the christie and bush
