wx timer @ :40 >> a death investigation underway in northeast nebraska. law enforcement officials are investigating a suspicious death the discovery came after a vehicle fire. shortly after 3 o'clock, yesterday afternoon, pierce fire and rescue responded to a vehicle on fire nine miles west of pierce. firefighters with the pierce fire department worked to extinguish the fire, and saw human remains in the cab of the pick-up. the nebraska state patrol and state fire marshall's office were called to investigate. a state patrol lieutenant said that the pick-up was in the middle of a field and they believe human remains were inside the smoldering vehicle. investigators are allowing some time for the fire to burn itself out so they can go through evidence at the scene. investigators have released the cause of a deadly fire in spencer, iowa over the weekend. firefighters responded to a trailer home at 317 w. 18th around 1:30 saturday afternoon, just off of highway 71. after putting out the flames, firefighters found the person who lived there dead. investigators
