first, let's talk a little bit about nevada. how important is gender in the oflitical contex a state where almost half thewo legislature aren? >> actually, about 52% of nevada state legislature, makerring them te first in the country to ve a female majority statee. ho so, certainly, nevada has proven to be a leader when it comes to gender equity, gder parity, and the electorate's willingness vote for female candidates. they even have two female unites statators. so, obviously, if history, if past is prologue, gender plys very critical role in nevadare >>ivasan: what is the secret to nevada's success in achieving this sort of gender parity in the legislature? >> a lot of it has to do with candide rruitment, and the fact that traditionally or historically, western states actually do have a hignuher er of women that both run and succeed in higher office there. i also think that it's possible, particularly in w nevadth a very large, prominent, and powerful labor union presencet ere. so these kind of service industry unions oftentime

early voting is new in nevada. they are not completely familiar with the calculator tool they have used. we have talked to volunteers who have not seen anything about it, and they have been asking the party about more information and told to wait, and we will get to you and don't worry about a thing. we have actually observed a training session today and saw the screen grabs of what the l calculator looks like and told how the go through it, but we have not spoken to any volunteers who have given a trial run, and they are concerned. the party is training volunteers right now on this, dana. but, again, the concern by the volunteers is that they are waiting right before caucus day before they learn about something they are expected to use. >> is you have mentioned that the party is trying to ease concerns and how are they doing that? how are they trying to get ahead of it? >> they are projecting the confidence at this point, and the party has said over and over again that they are working to make sure that this is a

in nevada, they surged. they actually surged. what's interesting is that it's also showing the influence of young latino voters among the household. when bernie sanders was going up with hillary clinton, it was the lincoln -- excuse me -- it was the clinton legacy. people knew who she was, who her husband was, the older latino voter was. now when they look at a ballot, they really don't know the candidates but they know bernie because they knew him from the last four years. and you have four more million latinos coming of age than the last election. they are uinfluencing not just their mothers but their aunts, uncles, grandmothers. i would urge folks to consider what's going to happen in super tuesday because they have a tendency of being much more liberal in the coasts, in the nevadas of the world. how are they going to influence their families in texas, in florida? i think that's where the contest becomes open for folks more on the conservative side, especially in florida. >> natasha, elizabeth warren says thank you for keeping

it is caucus day in nevada. we are two hours away from the next step in the race for the white house. candidates are hoping to make strides in the silver state. dozens of important delegates are up for grabs tonight and with super tuesday a week away, this is no time to fall behind. just hours before the votes are cast, there are new indications that russia is once again trying to meddle in u.s. elections. friday, bernie sanders confirmed that he was briefed on intelligence that russia is actively trying to help him win the democratic nomination in an effort to split the party. sources are also telling cnn russia is trying to meddle on behalf of president donald trump's re-election. the president fired the acting director of national intelligence, joseph maguire, after he allowed lawmakers to be briefed last week on russia's plans to interfere. both sanders and trump are now weighing in on russia's efforts, but with different views on the subject. >> it was not clear what role they were going to play. we were to

a "new york times" headline reading sanders romps in nevada. the results of his union heavy state on the primary circuit shows growing ground swell of support with 50% of precincts reporting. sanders garnered 47% of the vote, nearly double what the other candidates have. joe bident a distant second with about 19% of the vote right now. before everyone loses their mind about this. only 36 delegates up for grabs out of necessary 191 to achieve the democratic nomination during the first round of the convention selection process. nbc news reporting that sanders has been allocated 13 nevada delegates so far. last night sanders had already moved on to texas where he's positioning himself for super tuesday, march 3rd. >> in nevada, we have just put together a multi-generational, multi-racial coalition which is not only going to win in nevada, it is going to sweep this country. no campaign has a grassroots movement like we do which is another reason why we're going to win this election. >> joining me to break this all down, jason speaker of the nevada
