arianna bennett joins us now from the newsroom with the story... ari? both the white house and governor sandoval's office won't confirm the story. the governor's office told channel 2 in a statement today: "neither governor sandoval nor his staff has been contacted by or talked to the obama administration regarding any potential vetting for the vacancy on the u.s. supreme court." however-- we do know that the governor met with senator harry reid in washington on monday. senator reid says... he would support a sandoval nomination... but he isn't pushing it with the president. reid: "i've talked to the president. i've talked to his chief of staff many times. i talked to his political guy today. and he should pick who he thinks is the best." reid went on to say-- that he'd prefer a more progressive appointee... but he still had many positive words for nevada's governor. reid: "he's a good person. he been a tremendously good governor in spite of having to deal with some very big problems there." as for president obama-- he has said he's looking for a nomine

arianna bennett joins us now live with a look... ari? gas prices are the lowest we've seen since 2004... and a lot of that has to do with a major increase in domestic oil production. there's more american oil on the years... and it's causing a price drop all around the world... and around the nation. on the low end-- we have parts of oklahoma... missouri... and indiana... between $1.22 and $1.26 on the higher end-- arizona... alaska... and california... between 2.99 and 3.14 a gallon. in case you're wondering-- nevada's average now is $2.18 a gallon. and that's great news... for local drivers. jorge: "it's actually made it pretty helpful-- saving me quite a bit of money now." jim: "a truck this size, that's about a $15 a tank difference, so it's a huge difference for me." at this gas station in carson city prices were well under two dollars a gallon today... you may notice prices are higher in washoe county... that is because of different taxes charged on gas. and federal officials predict that we could see prices below two dollars a gal
