let's get over to danielle niles with the warnings and watches going on. >> the wind you guys and the thunderstorms that have been rolling through has been a wild morning and the temperatures too you may have noticed up into the 60s. let's bring in the severe thunderstorm warning in effect right now. are focused in southeastern massachusetts. that's where we have some of the deeper reds that are focused in here with torrential rain and a lot of lightning too. so this extends from the south coast to bristol county from new bedford and through plymouth county scituate seeing down pours and lightning in mash are -- marshfield. heaviest shifted offshore from boston harbor. there's lightning bolts but the heaviest rain pushed offshore. dealing with rain from woburn it's lighter and up knee essex county. area of focus is over southeastern massachusetts here in the next 45 minutes to an hour or so. as this whole cluster of miles per hour. that brings it through carver at about 4:44. so in the next 15 minutes hang way. islands. so this is not moving east. motion right through plymouth county

let's go to the expert danielle niles here with a closer look at the forecast. we wonder how it will go. >> looks like the mid atlantic will get the brunt of the storm in terms of jackpot snowfall and the time frame for us is later on saturday. there's been indication that we may hold off the snow until saturday afternoon or potentially into the evening. and it would last into sunday before tapering off. the location for the jackpot mid atlantic to here in southern new england. this is not a northern new england or north country ski storm. the track is going to be likely south and east of nantucket. the question is how close does it come and because there is a full moon that means the tides are going to be astronomically high. even if the storm passes offshore, we get some of the onshore winds that may kick up the seas and the surf heading details to iron out over the next couple days. until then it's about the cold. temperatures 0 degrees at logan airport. the real feel is 6 degrees at northwest wind kicking up. 16 miles per hour but gusting higher than that. h

we want to check the forecast with danielle niles. >> good morning. looks pretty quiet today. we have a couple showers i am tracking along the south coast and it's pretty mild start. look at temperatures right now in boston a. 43 degrees. the winds out of the west at 10 miles an hour. it feels colder, 37 is the real feel but not bad by january standards. most of us in eastern massachusetts are running in the lower 40s right now. 42 in lawrence and 43 taunto and falmouth and providence a touch cooler from worcester to keene. radar shows green from harford to the south coast. a quick spritz on east side back down to nantucket. clipping chatham and more showers light extending along the south coast from fall river to westerly row i'dland they are moving east and will be with us the next couple hours. we are talking about mainly quiet weather. once the showers move through between now and late morning and may be mixed with a couple mid to late morning and clearing comes in increasing sunshine back up to 41 through lunchtime so steady in terms of temperatures. an active breeze with

danielle niles is here on the storm watch. >> good morning. happy friday. the good news is that the rain is shipping out in terms of the downpours and there is strong wind out there. downpours, pushing through, in southern new hampshire, newburyport, kingston, and brentwood up into acting, extending through the new hampshire seacoast into southern maine, lifting off to the northeast and we have scattered showers. traveling around -- with some downpours hugging the coastline. down near chatham and then you get a break in the action but more lingering showers through the central part of this date and the burst of snow last evening. orange, up to new hampshire, scattered, light showers for us. the wind right now is strong but it is not damaging. a couple hours ago we had guests over 50 in some spots on cape cod. going up to 40 on nantucket, 37 miles per hour there. a wind advisory remains in effect until 10:00 a.m. we may see gusts up to 50 at the coastline that might cause isolated pockets of damage. back to the west, lingering showers, the story today. a lot
