new hampshire first. two days from now, the new hampshire primary will answer a lot of these questions we have. bernie sanders and hillary clinton, on the democratic side, a tie in iowa, right? nothing was decided. right? bernie sanders wins there, maybe you have a race. maybe you actually have, instead of a coronation on the democratic side, an argument over the future of the democratic party between two candidates, who you know have accomplished a lot in politics. fernando: you look at the republican side, maybe a bit of a surprise that ted cruz overwhelmed trump, relative to the polls anyway. what do you think will happen in new hampshire? is the ground game that trump has or doesn' t have is going to be important there? carl: look, a ground game' s important in new hampshire, too. not as important as iowa, a caucus state. trump and cruz sort of flip flopped. they were running one two and it came out 1-2 the other way. the real story there was marco rubio, really outperformed his polls and came a very

his super pac spent a ton of money in new hampshire, and after new hampshire he has very, very little infrastructure. he' s going to be in south carolina the next couple of days and really interestingly, next week, he is not just staying in south carolina, he is going to michigan, which doesn' t have a vote until 6. march tells you a lot about your strategy - where they go tells you what they' re thinking. so march 6 is really the next state he really can win. that' s a long ways away because there are 12 or so states that vote on march 1. s super tuesday all across the south. if you don' t win any of those places and you don' t win any of the northeastern states like massachusetts that are voting, it' s going to be very difficult to say "i' m a leader. i' m a top viable candidate" when you' re not winning in 12 states until the first week of march. fernando: and priscilla, obviously a huge disappointment for hillary clinton coming out of new hampshire. how does that impact her, you think, going forward? priscilla: so she made sort of changes in her messaging. we might see some of her

iowa, new hampshire, south carolina, nevada. those states you can really focus on and get on the ground and spend a lot of time and run a campaign that doesn' t necessarily require the same type of vast infrastructure, the same type of money that is required to put up advertising in a range of states across the whole country that have some that' s what super tuesday is. from early on there was some thought that even if donald trump does well, super tuesday will be the point at which the air is let out of his balloon because he doesn' t have a traditional campaign infrastructure. i think that reasoning has been turned on its head as we see donald trump doing so well even in without a traditional campaign infrastructure. fernando: well, ken, thank you so much for joining me. ken: it was a pleasure. fernando: in 2012, mitt romney defeated barack obama by almost eleven points in south carolina. the state is expected remain in the win column for republicans this november. >> coming up, super sized spending. >> i think it has perverte

donald trump has just dominated nevada, south carolina, new hampshire, and you know in the recent contest in nevada, he won nearly every single demographic that came out, possibly even -- although polls are shaky on this -- latinos. so going into super tuesday, he has the upper hand. i think the best chance that him on super tuesday is possibly ted cruz, if he can win texas, his own home state. and that fact that we are even talking about that may not even be a possibility for ted cruz says something about donald trump' s dominance. fernando: and what about marco rubio? he' s positioned himself as everyone' s second choice, but that doesn' t make him any body' s first choice, it seems, at least it' s not shown in the voting. what' s his strategy? how does he potentially compete? amber: well, his strategy, originally, was to get third in iowa where he wasn' t expected to do well among social conservatives, climb the ranks to do second in new hampshire, first in south carolina. t happened for marco rubio. he has not won a single state thus far and so i think his strategy is totally thrown o
