joining me are filmmakers lee steinberg and josh creekman, directors of the documentary "weiner" which won an award at cannes, getting incredible reviews, i've seen it, i think it's absolutely incredible. lisa and i are friends from way back so evaluate that. let's start with this. the first time, when you see this film, your first thought is, why? why did anthony wiener and his wife, who's probably the closest aide to hillary clinton, why did they allow you to film? >> i've known anthony for a long time. i met him working in politics as his district chief of staff when he was in congress. that's how i got to know him well. i moved into film making and out of politics. it was after he resigned from congress, after his scandal, that we started a conversation about the possibility of making document tear to tell his story in a way that gets past the punch line version that he became through the course of his scandal. that was a conversation that went on over the course of a couple of years of going back and forth with him trying to see if it would be something he'd be comfortable with. w
