rob marciano tracking it all. good morning, rob. >> good morning. we thought it would happen and did. just a frightening night across the south. dozens of structures damaged. nearly a dozen tornadoes across four states. powerful storms that made for a frightening night, no doubt. >> there's the tornado right there. >> let's go. >> reporter: overnit tornadoes reported from louisiana to tennessee. this is what it looked like in northeast alabama after a twister slammed into homes damaging businesses as animals roam the roads. three killed all in the same trailer. four children in critical condition after a day-care center was completely destroyed. thousands without power this morning. in mississippi, strong winds over 60 miles per hour flipping over trucks, damaging barns. beds and things that were tilted over or near tilted over and we're really lucky nobody was hurt here tonight. you know, it could be the other way. >> reporter: this store decimated. police out in force to make sure everyone is okay. >> we had deputies stationed from the north end o

>> rob marciano with us tonight. rob, thank you. >>> we turn next here to the other major story tonight, the deadly plane crh. celebrating along the way on that journey. but then, the flight overnight crashing, nearly everyone onboard was killed. the flight was carrying a brazilian soccer team to a finals match, crashing on a hillside in colombia. and we have just learned here what happened right before that crash. that team had so much to look forward to. self-brating a cinderella rise on their way to a playoff game. 71 people killed. but miraculously, six were found abc's david kerley on what happened in those final moments. >> reporter: only part of the fuselage of the jet was left intact, having slammed into a hi hill. through the day, the grim task of recovering the bodies of the 71 onboard who were killed. but remarkably, those six survivors found away from the fuselage. it was to be a joyous trip for the regional brazilian soccer team, making a big tournament for the first time in its history. documenting thei
